Not safe!

I had to call the police in the middle of the night after hearing shouting and a door kicked in. When the police arrived they told me this was not a safe place to be. I should have known that because the locks are very flimsy (only a doorknob lock that looked like it had been forced open already). I had to leave and find another hotel in the middle of the night. Value Lodge would not refund my money, so I paid twice to sleep one night in Nanaimo, where's the "Value" in that?

The place reeks of mold and mildew and is definitely very run down... all of which I was willing to overlook, for a peaceful night's sleep. But there was no peaceful sleep.

I really don't want this to happen to another traveler as it is very unpleasant to change hotels in the middle of the night in an unfamiliar city.
