“Cozy and Relaxed”

Jamieson's Irish House & Grill
Don't let the outside appearance fool you (it's in a strip mall). Inside, you'll find rustic charm and a relaxed atmosphere. The waiting area (which I have never had the opportunity to use) looks comfy...like a great place to chill with a drink. As you'd expect they have a wide variety of scotches.

The food is good and the prices reasonable. It's a cool little spot that you'll want to visit again.

“Trustworthy”

Homestyle Electrical Services
I didn't know how to find a reputable electrician being relatively new to the area. I found Jamie Myatt's info, gave him a call and am glad I did. He was able to get the work done quickly and professionally. And he cleaned up afterwards. His price was fair and will book him to come in for additional work that should be done.

“Beautiful Shop, Incredible Staff”

Spirit Spa
What an incredible shop. The reception folks are fabulous and the girl who styles my hair is THE most professional stylist with whom I've ever dealt. Everyone seems to understand what customer service and satisfaction is and they deliver.

This is a premium shop with surprisingly reasonable rates. Try them! You'll become a long time client.

“I Was Wrong?”

The Wooden Monkey
Weblocal.ca Location I had previously written a review saying how I thought the Wooden Monkey was slipping in quality. Was I wrong? It appears so. I have tried to "walk up" a few times and there is usually a wait. Any restaurant that has people lined up to get in MUST be delivering something good. (I think it's time to make reservations :-)

“Quaint”

The Trellis Cafe
Friends suggested we take a motorcycle ride to Hubbards from Halifax to have dinner Friday night at The Trellis Cafe. It's a cute little spot. Arriving at 7:45pm, it was almost at capacity. The service was slow, but the food was good. It seemed as though they were understaffed. However, our server was a hoot. She was very funny and made the experience entertaining. There was a band playing after 8pm. The place seems a little too small for anything but an acoustic offering (a tad loud). Recommend the seafood lasagna and the ginger bread dessert.

“Decor fair ... breakfast great!”

Evangeline's Tower Bed & Breakfast
This is a beautiful old house. They tried to decorate with an antique look, but it somehow missed the mark. The place is clean, the breakfast is wonderful and the hostess very cordial. With a few decorating tips, it could be a wonderful place.

“I Agree! You are PEI's Friendliest Florist”

Flower Buds
Weblocal.ca Location I don't think I have had ever been greeted in such as friendly manner before. I instantly liked these folks! Keep up the "upbeat attitude".

“Wow!”

The Great George
Weblocal.ca Location I've just spent 3 nights at the Inns of Great George. I travel a lot and this is without a doubt the nicest place I have ever stayed.

The service is over the top. From the smell of fresh baked cookies in the lobby to an invitation to join the manager for an evening reception to the breakfast in the morning ....

They do so many "little" things that you wouldn't think of ... but they have. And the room (I've actually had smaller apartments in my lifetime) was beautiful. This is not a hotel, it's an experience! Experience it for yourself. You will LOVE it!

“Community Hall”

Pepper Jack's Sports Bar & Grill
A difficult place to find unless you know exactly where you are going. I've worked within 500 meters of it (on either side) for the past year and didn't know what it was. With all of the atmosphere of a community hall, it may be a great place to meet older folks for a game of darts. The food is adequate but the beer is cold. Entertainment on Friday night was great (again for an older clientele).

“Great Relaxing Place”

Farmhouse Inn
My partner and I spent a getaway winter weekend here. Our room had a king size bed, a two person whirlpool bath and a gas fireplace. It was a nice weekend. Coffee was delivered to the door in the morning, the hostess is a lovely lady with the gift of gab and breakfast & dinner were included (and tasty). In the area, you can watch the Bald Eagles (we saw 20 gathered in one field) and tour the local wineries.

No doubt she and I will be back to unwind after another stressful week at work.

“Try the mushroom soup”

Panini's Deli & Pizzeria
My girlfriend has been raving about the great food that they have delivered from Panini's. She brought home a sample of the mushroom soup for me. OMG! It is one of the most amazing tasting foods to pass through my lips. If the rest of the menu is half as good, I may never eat anywhere else.

“Poor service, dated hotel”

Delta Prince Edward
This hotel was built in the early 1980'2 and it shows. It is tired and the furniture is very dated. After waiting in line for 20 minutes to check in at 1:00pm while a lone girl checked in the line-up. There was no one else to be seen (no concierge either). I had a difficult time unlocking the door to my room (they still use the huge 1980's brass keys). A chamber maid came by and said "they stick a lot" and offered to show me "the trick" to make it work.

After a day of meetings, I came back and found my door ajar. Nothing was missing, but for some reason my room door was open.

I received a coupon for a free breakfast when I checked in, which I redeemed, yet $14.95 was on my bill at check out. It was removed when I pointed it out. Speaking of check out, the desk clerk was droning on and on to me about about how bad the economy was and how bad the political climate was in Ottawa. What an up lifting goodbye!

Other points that annoyed me: a faulty lamp switch that had to be "jiggled" to stay on and no facial tissue in the empty box. This week, I've stayed at the Delta Centreville and Omni Hotels in Montreal and the Lakeview Inn in Summerside, PEI. The Delta Prince Edward doesn't rate anywhere near any of these properties (though they charge similar to the downtown Montreal rates and the Lakeview is $50 cheaper per night).

I can only recommend that you stay somewhere other than the Delta Prince Edward. I don't know how they can justify their rates to themselves.

“Great Experience”

My Dog Wash Plus More
Weblocal.ca Location I took my Golden Retriever here last week. I had always washed my dogs at home, but hate the mess. Not only was everything supplied (and easier than leaning over the home tub), the owner helped out a bit and engaged in conversation. Both my dog and I enjoyed the experience (as much as you can enjoy a dog bath). Take your dog here. It's inexpensive, it's easier and your bathroom will thank you.

“Great Place”

Terra Marina Boarding Kennels
Many time you feel bad about leaving your precious pup at a kennel when you travel. I felt this way for years. My dogs HATED it. But I started to take them to Terra Marina and the dogs came home happy. These are great folks who truly car about dogs.

“Friendly Service”

Home Hardware - Charlottetown
A great place to shop. The staff does their best to find you and help you, unlike many stores where they work hard to avoid you. If you have questions, the HH staff will do their utmost to get the answers for you.
