I am so lucky that DBK opened up at the York Mills Gardens, other wise known as the Longo's plaza. I have lived in York mills all my life and have never had a convenient haircut, hairstylist, or colourist so close to home. Not only that but I get the best haircuts of my life there. They are super friendly and treat you like family. Alyr and Emmerson are too good for words!
Love it there. Definitely recommend!

JC Salons

I just went to bloorwest village to drop by JC Salon. Anita, the co-owner was hilarious. Its a family run place, and even those who aren't related get treated like family. I was able to get a fabulous manicure with the summer's new colours, as well as watch the creative cuts and colours happen for several happy clients. They are real and down to earth truly hilarious, not to mention affordable, and professional.

Definitely recommend! (even if its just for the complimentary cappuccino you get while you wait your turn reading magazines)

I just took an Italian cooking class and right after I went to Scorcia to pick up all the essentials for my own home; olive oil, all natural tomatoe sauce, and some homemade pasta.
It tasted so great when I cooked for my family at home that I went back for some birthday gift baskets with all sorts of antipastas and vegetarian soups for my parents.
