“26 years and counting!”

Amigo's Taco Shop
This restaurant has been serving up fajitas and burritos in Prince George for 26 years. Such a long run of success must be attributed to its quality food. The food was hot, and served in less than 10 minutes... I was the only person in the restaurant at 2:30 which explains such quick service. The decor has a tacky Mexican feel. I appreciated it for what it is because I think the tackiness of it is partly the point. The only thing missing was hot weather.

“They have Icebreaker!”

Stride & Glide Sports Ltd
It is a small store. The prices can probably be beat by shopping online. However, for some, supporting local businesses might take priority. Considering you pay shipping and often import taxes on goods from the US, it can be worthwhile to get items on sale here. They carry icebreaker merino, which is a good reason to check them out.

“Decent selection of international beers”

Nancy O's Restaurant
Nancy O's has received a great deal of hype as the kind of place Prince George really needs. It does have a great atmosphere with the rustic floors, tables, and bar. It has a great selection of international beers. They are of course quite pricey. But you can also purchase the domestics at the typical bar rate.
The place is extremely small, so it often feels crowded. Especially on nights with live entertainment. All in all I like the place for its feel more than anything.

“Support the Local Business Owners”

Players Bench The Hockey Source
For everyday sports items you will likely be able to find a deal at Sportchek, but when you are looking for the best in baseball, lacrosse, or specifically hockey equipment you have to go to Players Bench. They are one of the few places where the sticker price is negotiable. Try doing that at your box store.

“Coffee”

Starbucks Coffee Co
This place is usually busy, because it is in such a central location. I am convinced that due to the volume of customers they have the freshest Starbucks beans in the city. I would rate their coffee as the #1 starbucks in PG, followed by College Heights, Downtown, and the one in Spruceland. But often you will be hard pressed to find a seat.

“Great home made burgers and Shakes”

A & A Burger Bar
This is a great place to grab a large burger and shake. There are many different burgers to choose from, and if you can't find one you like they will make it custom to your order. The owners are extra friendly and the meat comes from a local ranch. It can't get much better than that.

“Bright and pleasant atmosphere, good food”

Thanh Vu Restaurant
This restaurant has a bright and cheery atmosphere. The food is good as well. The portions are generally adequate to satisfy my large appetite.

“Dinner in the Dark”

Cimo Mediterranean Grill
As far as food goes I would agree with other reviewers... it is pretty good. However if you call turning off all the lights atmosphere then I beg to differ. It is not a huge restaurant, and can feel a bit crowded.

“Great Food”

Mai Thai Restaurant
This is definitely one of the better places to eat in Prince George. I have not been disappointed with anything ordered off the menu after several visits. But I highly recommend the cashew nut chicken.

“Helpful and they know their bikes”

Northern Hardware & Furniture Co Ltd
This is the place to go If you are looking for a store that knows bikes. The employees are cycle junkies. Northern cycle has all the parts you might need, as well as great service.

“Friendly and Knowledgeable”

Big O Tires
After a bad experience with Tire Capital it was refreshing to come to Big O. They know what they are doing. It may take longer to get in because they have a loyal customer base... and for good reason. Their service is great. I highly recommend getting tires from Big O, and/or changing over your winters. The old adage is true, you get what you pay for!

“Customers beware”

Tire
Bought a new set of General Grabbers at Tire Capital. They did a great job putting them on in a hurry, but did not balance them properly and that led to premature wear. Brother-in-law had rim wrecked. Came loose 5kms after leaving their shop. Overall they are sloppy, and not worth the lower price.

“Friendly Service at a Fair Price”

MINUTE MUFFLER & BRAKE
They looked at my car free of charge, took it for a drive with me and agreed something was amiss with the suspension. A quick look under the vehicle and sure enough a steering link was broken. It took no more than 10 minutes for them to get the proper part and another 20 to replace it. I will return in the future.

“Friendly Service”

WASABI SUSHI & WONTON HOUSE
The owners have always been genuinely happy to serve and are very kind. They appear to love what they do, and the result is good sushi and a great place to eat. I should no longer be surprised, but I often am when they add a little extra to an order without charge. These are the kinds of acts that build customer loyalty :)
