Great Steak
The Tulip has great food, large portions and fantastic prices.
Steaks are great and it is a super weekend breakfast place.

Steaks. That's what you go to Tulip for. It's been around for decades and used to be the hangout for the Horse Racing crowds at the now-closed Woodbine race track who wanted a great piece of meat, mashed potatoe, a slice of tomato and nothing more. Great onion soup, fine chicken parm, chopped beef and steaks at reasonable prices, accompanied by home-made bread and pies. Diverse diner crowd. Good value, avoid peak time lines. A Toronto institution.

This “reliable, cheap” and “always busy” Leslieville “landmark”, open since 1929, promises “high-end steaks at low-down prices” and served in “hearty portions” (“wear your stretchy pants”); there’s “no attitude” and “no b.s.” here, so expect a “step-above-a-greasy-spoon” setting.
