"Knowledgeable" servers "happy to make suggestions" help diners navigate the "solid", "traditional" Italian menu at this "cosy" Annex "favourite" and its newer Forest Hill sibling; given the "servings" and "quality of food", they're "great values"; P.S. the "slightly better" original offers an opportunity to "ogle" "movie stars" (especially during the film festival).
Imagine the Bat Cave decorated by a Florentine, with aged frescoes, wall-mounted stonework, and wax-dripping candelabra. Tables are close together, but the jovial suits and couples don't seem to mind. Efficient service lacks warmth, though the kitchen makes up for it. I am not quite sure why this cramped basement restaurant gleans such good reviews, except that the quality of everything is excellent.
$300 for two, with a couple of bottles of wine. Strong emphasis on Italian wine.
Lovely pasta to start, ( Parpadelle), followed by a luscious sole and then a veal.
Plenty of people queuing to take our place...

Went for dinner on last night in Toronto.Im not a great lover of two sittings ,but we did feel quite rushed.Food was pretty good and a nice atmosphere.
Went to this downtown icon mid-week.
It has a bit of a reputation for being snooty...overpriced.
In a word...OUTSTANDING
Yes...the room was filled with young over anxious downtowners trying to impress..who cares.
The food was amazing...the wait staff and atmosphere to match..

This review pertains to the valet service provided by Sotto Sotto. We parked on the street within the parking area set by the city, within metres of Sotto Sotto and were harrassed by the attendant to move our vehicle to an area further from our destination that would make it "convenient" for him to work the valet service.
