a decent zoo

not a big fan of animals in enclosures, but I do like the layout and grand scale of this zoo

No wonder the zoo is loosing so much money!

I get it, the zoo is huge because the animals need their habitat to be comfortable and not crammed. But why build the pathways in such a confusing way? It's ridiculous how NOT FRIENDLY the place is built! It's SOO HARD to take your little ones with you, walk into an exhibit and have them complain about how tired they are from all the walking!

Came about an hour before closing - I should have come earlier since there is so much to see! Most of the enclosures were very nice, but I was there on a warm July afternoon/evening and I could not figure out why the polar bears were still out. I know Arctic summers can still be quite warm but I am not sure they should have been out as even I was feeling the heat. I am not an animal expert... more

Visited the zoo as part of the CityPass ticket booklet I bought just to see the pandas and polar bears.

Coming from LA, those are the only two animals I cared to see and boy were they cute. There are two pandas, one of sleeping and one was munching on his bamboo dinner.
