Friends suggested we take a motorcycle ride to Hubbards from Halifax to have dinner Friday night at The Trellis Cafe. It's a cute little spot. Arriving at 7:45pm, it was almost at capacity. The service was slow, but the food was good. It seemed as though they were understaffed. However, our server was a hoot. She was very funny and made the experience entertaining. There was a band playing after 8pm. The place seems a little too small for anything but an acoustic offering (a tad loud). Recommend the seafood lasagna and the ginger bread dessert.

Over the years this has been a favourite spot for me. However,I don't want to say it is bad,but certainly not as good . Service ..slow slow, not a welcoming greeting. Got the feeling,no one really cared about our experience. Yes,the food was good, nice homemade bread.... Prices high and the kitchen staff would certainly look more competent if they were wearing,clean... more
Arrived at 2 pm. Waited almost an hour for very average sandwiches. Paid $12 each for a plate with a sandwich. Period. Pickles must have been at a premium. Very under-staffed for a summer Saturday. We will neither recommend nor return.
We were a large group and I think we over whelmed the kitchen. Every meal came out cold. Some people got there meal 15 minutes before anyone else. The food was just ok
