Built by the Canadian Pacific Railroad in 1929 and located across from Union Station, this massive hotel has 1,365 guest rooms and suites, and 35 meeting and banquet rooms. Just sitting on a plush couch in the magnificent old-fashioned lobby and watching the crowd is an event. Still, you have to decide whether you want to stay with countless business travelers, tour groups, and conventioneers.... more

When it opened its doors in 1929, it was the tallest building in the British Commonwealth, now it shares Toronto's soaring skyline. It remains one of the biggest hotels in the city and a favorite of royalty—both Hollywood's and the real deal.... more

The Royal York is facing a City of Toronto road that is under construction and yet the staff have done a great job in welcoming the guests and helping them move around the closed streets and construction area.

The staff & food (we had the buffet breakfast) were both excellent.
The room we stayed in on the 4th floor was quite big & comfortable, but the bathroom was fairly small & needed updating.
This is the only... more
