Oldest Place in the city

Over 121 years old. I remember going when it was a meat market for students near by. Pitcher of beer was 12 dollars and everyone in the place was drunk.

Now they've spruced the place up to make it a lil classier then a meat market. Still a hang out for students but always a few older people in the place to.

Great place to have fun and think about your parents or grandparents just might have partied there too!

Affectionately known as the Brunny, this cavernous historic tavern (it dates back to 1876) is a favorite of University of Toronto students, even after an extensive upgrade in 2005. This facelift has brought the establishment quite close to its... more

The Brunny fits right into that list. We were looking for a place to celebrate on a Thursday and ended up going here. Did not regret it one bit. Put ourselves on guestlist and got in for free. Coat... more

Back in high school (more than a decade ago), this was the place to go if you were underage. They would let just about anyone in with any ID. All young Torontonians frequented the Brunny. Fast forward to my late 20s. The place is full of horrible jock jerks that are presumably 1st year student at U of T. These guys are the worst. All they want to do is pick up totally drunk girls and fight... more
