Will never use this company again!

If i had the option to give this business a negative rating for customer service, that's the rating i would have assigned. I was a long-time customer and had spent thousands of dollars on custom window treatments throughout the majority of my home (custom drapery & blinds). As i was happy with past service, i went to added touch again to have custom bedding & window cornices made for my bedroom. Unfortunately, the saleswoman i dealt with in the past is no longer with this shop. I went to their showroom, chose fabric samples, made an appointment with the replacement saleswoman for everything to be measured, and finally was given a quote the day after measurements were done, at which point (even tho i felt the price was high) i authorized a large down payment on my purchase. Exactly one week after the sale, i received a phone call from the woman who had given me the quote, telling me she'd made a mistake & wanted almost $500 more for my purchase! On what planet is this considered good business practice? in any other store, once you've been given a quote and made a payment, this is considered a binding contract and the original price would be honored, mistake or not. When i expressed my displeasure over this, the saleswoman actually raised her voice at me, as did her manager, as they were not willing to stand behind their original quote. My options were to pay more money or have my order cancelled. Clearly, i had no further interest in dealing with a company of this nature and because my money was returned, technically nothing was illegal about this. However, in my own humble opinion, it certainly was questionable, unethical, short-sighted and overall poor business practice, considering the amount of business i have given them in the past.
