Upscale close to theatres dining

Well, if you want the full "theatre" experience then this is the preeminent place to dine before the show. It's not cheap, but the food is right up there with the best fine dining in the City. Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the experience since you will be paying plenty for it.

Slow service

I was here on a night before an event, so we weren't rushed but weren't looking for a 4 hr evening. We told this to our server, but the service was slow all night with no apologies on their behalf.

slow service, good food

the slow service killed my experience here. the server took probably 10 min to come to our table for the first time, just to take our drink order. we almost left, but he recovered and the rest was okay.

Teatro. The elegant Teatro is in an old bank building on Olympic Plaza, where classical features blend with contemporary decor to create an exquisite setting for fine Italian cuisine. Specialties include numerous antipasti, pizzas from a wood-burning oven, pastas, and risottos. The extensive wine list has earned Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence since 1997. If you're in a hurry, choose the... more

As always, the food, presentation, and service were excellent. You can easily imagine yourself in a European city. Highly recommended.

Too pricey for what you get. Everything is glammed up with intelligently appetizing adjectives, essentially builds you up for an ok meal.

My partner and I spent our anniversary evening enjoying the special tasting menu. It was a wonderful 3 hours of enjoyment: fine dining as a great way to be entertained.

Its a great restaurant that's gone through some growing pains, but is better than ever! They started us off with some amuse bouche (who does does this in calgary?!) and then we had a very good three course dinner- I highly recommend the rotisserie if you can, its melt in your mouth good. And the dessert was awesome, not overly sweet, but just enough to satisfy the sweet tooth. And mignardises... more

The menu and daily specials at Teatro are created by one of the region's top chefs. The varied selections feature the best of the predictable and the unusual, including Risotto of Chanterelle, butternut squash and ruby chard. The Italian-inspired market cuisine is a favorite of the loyal downtown business lunch and pre-concert crowd. The decor still holds a hint of its roots; the building... more

Set on the edge of Olympic Plaza, this fashionable restaurant is the place to see and be seen in town. Its residence in the historic Dominion Bank building grants Teatro elegant period architecture, along with a more clean-lined decor that serves as its foil. The cuisine is Italian in intent, supplemented by seasonal Canadian ingredients. Pastas, seafood, meat dishes, pizzas, and antipasti... more
