Tamarind Hill is a refreshing haven among the myriad mediocre ethnic restaurants that populate New West. Chef Robert Phua, formerly of Banana Leaf, brings with him authentic Malaysian flavours and throws in some Indian and Indonesian influences for good measure. Great Malaysian food

This is the best Malaysian food in the area.
Many dishes to choose from, and many different unique flavours.
The interior is nice, though small and the service is generally pretty good.

A reason to visit New Westminster

I don't head out to this neck of the woods too often, as I have no real reason to. The exception is when I have a craving for Malaysian food ... especially the Coconut Crepes for dessert.

A friend from work recommended this restaurant and I went there with no prior knowledge of the menu or decor of the business.
This is a nicely decorated, small restaurant across the street from Royal City Mall in New Westminster.
I am surprised that it has been around for 6 years because it looks brand new on the inside.
