Great sushi ... one of the best
You know this place is good once you discover that the chefs and servers are all real Japanese. Half of he clientele in the evening is real Japanese who are in Calgary from Japan for business or whatever. The lunch crowd is businessmen who know great sushi when they eat it. You will not be disappointed with this sushi ... very few do it better in C town.
Second best sushi in town ... but
This place has been around for 30+ years like Sushi Bar Miki. They also have excellent sushi (however better at lunch than supper as their fish coolers don't seem to be able to keep their cool into the evening ... but still good), their only problem is that they seem to have "situational" problems in that they have trouble with staffing and keeping regular hours. But, if you can get in, you'll like it ... some of the best sushi in the city. Unfortunately they don't seem to be open on Sundays.

My favourite Japanese restaurant in Calgary
January 27, 2014It is becoming rare to find a Japanese restaurant that makes most of their food right from scratch. Nice but pricey
August 30, 2013Authentic Sushi restaurant, went there for dinner and the Master Chef came to our table and recommended menu items. Nice décor, service was very good with the waitresses/ servers dressed in the traditional style. Sushi, sashimi, tempura and noodle dishes were very good, would have liked if they offered more grilled and bbq items on their menu.

Little Japan in Calgary who knew

Sushi HIRO is one of Calgary's old school restaurants started by Hiro and his wife at least 20 years ago and now his son is taking charge.
Last night we had a real treat we wanted a small prIvate meal that was very special for a close freind who was celebrating a "milestone" birthday.
