What a great decor and food

The decor of this restaurant if you go in a tatami room is fabulous. It is fun to go out with friends and family and enjoy a japanese lunch in a private room. The food selection is great and sushi quality is top notch. This place is A+ in my book.

Now THAT's Japanese

This was our third time at Suisha Gardens. When we arrived, we were greeted by the former manager from Festival Japan. He remembered us - quite impressive when you consider we're not from Ottawa. The sake was kept warm in a bowl of hot water. We ordered ebi su and tako su for starters. The spider roll was done to... more

A good Japanese restaurant
November 02, 2013

This restaurant is right between average to very good ( "good") for a Japanese restaurant. The food was very good with good variety. However the orders did get mixed up and the interior is a little on the plainer side (our table "rocked".. one short leg) for a Japanese restaurant (relative to what you might you find in Tokyo). Do... more

Went recently (April 06). I really enjoyed the presentation of their dishes...and the more exotic Japanese dishes they provided (Beef Sashimi, Edaname, etc). Their menu wasn't extensive...but what we ordered was excellent and there were varied options (just not extensive options). The price was a bit expensive...but the presentation was worth that price. However, the seating isn't that great is... more

Suisha Garden used to be the restaurant I went for sushi. But for some reason, they raised the price for nigiri sushi almost 60%. Japanese food is one of my favourite food since I was 6, and I am willing and happy to spend $60 per person for good and reasonably priced sushi. The last time I visited Suisha Gardens is also the first time in my life that I felt ripped off and hesitated to make... more

Food was good. We were long time customers (used to go there twice a week in groups of 10-15) and have always been served well until a staff change happened. The new manager was rude and impolite. We'll will never ever go back again.

Rice-paper lamps, wooden screens and Japanese artwork add to the authentic feel of this sushi restaurant, popular with the downtown business lunch crowd. The main dining room features a sushi bar that spans the length of the room and allows you to watch as the chef prepares your meal. Salads, seasoned rice, noodle dishes (tempura udon), steaks and sukiyaki round out the menu. The restaurant... more
