From OpenTable: Since we first opened in 1995, Steamworks has been a favourite of Vancouver locals and visitors alike. Whether you're joining us for lunch, a drink after work, or a group dinner with friends and colleagues, we're honoured to have you with us.Steamworks gets its name from the famous Gastown steam line that runs through our premises. Big, beery and always bustling upstairs and down, from the heated patio to the harbor views that are seriously intoxicating, the range of on-site brews is no less dizzying. Both suits and cruise shippers enjoy above-average burgers, winning pizza and faves like Lion's Gate Lager or seasonal treats like October's Great Pumpkin Ale. Baked goodies and lattes keep the cafe side perky, although... more

The expansive Gastown spot is the original and the more popular—it’s the one where beer drinkers are afforded the rare pleasure of downing a few pale ales in the building where they were actually brewed. Recognizing the need for variety to accommodate walk-in tourists and cruise ship crowds, they maintain a huge menu, with everything from a ginger beef starter ($10.99) to peppered Pacific... more

Excellent taps, arguably the best in the city. A well above average back bar with witty, friendly and funny bartenders and wait staff. Great ambiance and from the upstairs room a beautiful view of the harbor. So why not five stars? The food is ghastly. Frankly you've done well here if your meal is mediocre. Poor to inedible is more the norm.By all means, come to drink and hang out, (and... more

I had some corn and clam chowder which sounded very appetizing but turned out to be fairly average. The same went for the pasta - nothing offensive - it just lacked any zing. And lastly the beer. For a brew-pub, this bear was just not that special. Great service, average libations.

We're no ordinary brewing company. In addition to great beer, we have one of Vancouver's best executive chefs who elevates our cuisine to the sublime. And when you combine great beer with great food and a great atmosphere, you end up as "Vancouver's Best Brewpub."

At this microbrewery, steam used to craft the beers is city-supplied, and the brewing process is visible through the dining room's glass walls. It's an unusual method, but it produces great local brews, including a zippy espresso ale. Inside, dark woodwork and book-lined shelves add ambience, and from the expansive windows, you'll get views of the water and mountains. Upscale pub fare wards off... more

This popular downtown brewpub is located on the outskirts of Gastown . It offers lunch, dinner and pub menus; the latter is sure to solve any late-evening munchie problems. The Beer Soup features Roasted Chicken, vegetables and the brewery\'s own Lions Gate Lager, and it\'s perfect for a cold, rainy day. Those craving burgers can try the Steamworks Burger or check out the vegetarian Portobello... more
