The food was horrible - I first had the Chicken, with cheese and Proscuitto, that was cold -- then I had the trout of the day - that was fishy -- I was horribly disappointed. This is definitely not the Sotto Sotto I knew from years ago

December 31, 2012Quality of service and food is a big miss at Sotto in the Village. Service wait staff were indifferent, with little interest in providing a superb dining experience, on NYE no less. Food was lacklustre in taste and presentation, and price point is high enough to have us expect so much more. Bread was stale, food over salted, mussels flavourless. "Knowledgeable" servers "happy to make suggestions" help diners navigate the "solid", "traditional" Italian menu at this "cosy" Bloor Yorkville "favourite" and its newer Forest Hill sibling; given the "servings" and "quality of food", they're "great values"; P.S. the "slightly better" original offers an opportunity to "ogle" "movie stars" (especially during the film festival).

The small Italian bistro in Forest Hill is cousin to legendary celeb hangout Sotto Sotto on Avenue Road. Menu items include lasagna, steaks, ribs, and rich desserts. Open for lunch, dinner and brunch on Sundays. Skilled service.
