Funky!
This place is an institution, and because it's now an institution, it's just not as innovative and cool as it used to be. But it is comfortable, like going to your European grandma's. I especially like it for breakfast and lunch.
Great Food and Service
I stopped by Sophie's Cafe on a whim, just passing through on the way to UBC. This was a real treat! The ambience at Sophie's was so inviting, the staff were attentive and genuinely friendly and the food was fabulous. The decor really is out of this world. Looks like a trip back in time. The food came fresh and fast and they have some very interesting items on the menu. This cozy little diner is a must when passing through West 4th.

For a fabulous home-cooked, diner-style breakfast in a laid-back but buzzy atmosphere, come to this Kitsilano landmark. Place for family brunch!?
January 22, 2012The inside is filled with a lot of cosmic stuff and your kids would love it. Besides, servers were so nice and friendly. Speaking of foods, nothing special but it"s tasty. Good place for family's sunday brunch if you are lucky enough not to wait for a long time on the street.

Lovely little place on 4th
January 17, 2012I love Sophie's. In fact I have never met a person who had a bad thing to say about Sophie's. The line-up on a busy afternoon is well worth the wait. Inside, the surroundings are unique, retro and eclectic and the food is never disappointing. They also serve their santa fe eggs benny on cornbread, and that alone stole my heart.
