I used to work deliveries for Solo Liquor, though I have no professional bias towards them. I've just happened to see what almost every Calgary store has to offer and they're a a consistent good choice, in my opinion. Their selection will surprise you, especially for beer where they have many different international choices and rare finds as well. Not a lot of each type of lesser-known beer, but they at least have a case on the shelf so you can always try something new. I don't know about the wine selection, but their hard liquor selection isn't limited either. Lots of big specialty bottles of the popular brands, and they'll surprise you that they stock some rare and interesting bottles as well. Tequilas, bourbon, scotch, you can find all kinds of unique buys at good prices. They're open really late, 2am every night, and the staff are usually friendly and willing to help you pick out something specific. I seek out Solo Liquor stores when I need to pick something up because I know I'll never be disappointed.
