Originally established in 1967, Smuggler's has been serving Alberta prime rib to several generations. Always a popular place for Calgarians to gather and celebrate, we are the preferred dining choice for birthdays, anniversaries, milestones or just meeting friends and family. Our prime rib is the main feature of our diverse menu, available all day, every day any way you like it. From a 7oz.... more
and i have stuffed my face to the point of not being able to walk more times than i want to mention - great food
you get the feeling from looking at this place outside that it hasn't been updated in a while, and you're right. the food i think needs a boost into the now as well.
I have been here several times with guests from out of town and they have always enjoyed themselves. It's an excellent place for a group, family, or even to go as an individual. The location is good, easy to get to and park, and the food is amazing, so it's bound to impress whoever you take.
Nice restaurant from outside very dated appearance inside. Personnel was quite pleasant and made a good impression, that's the extent to which i would say Smuggler's Inn matches average restaurant in Calgary. The only thing I was able to eat, was the bacon and the... more
The entrees are quite tasty, but the salad bar never tastes as good as it should.
Great steak soup..be careful not to fill up on soup and salad..leave room for your prime rib!! Good place for a small group.
Very warm and romantic atmosphere, especially if you get a table next to a fireplace. The food was good, but not worth the price, especially for an a la carte menu. The salad bar was slim. Unfortunately, our waitress was rather ignorant for some reason. Not just to us, but the table next to us. Must have had a bad day!
Devoted to serving terrific Alberta beef, this restaurant is an area favorite and has been for several decades. It's not as upscale as some of the other steakhouses, but it's a reliable institution that knows how to prepare a good steak. The specialty is roast prime rib of beef, and it comes in several juicy cuts. You'll also find lobster, ribs, pasta, and rotisserie chicken. Side dishes come... more
