I'm not sure what everyone is complaining about the costs for... I pay 15$ a month as advertised and 10$ joining fee and the 30$ mandatory fitness assessment. It's probably not worth it to be elite. I've had my membership for 5 years and i've taken a lot of classes but they've gone downhill over the years. I find the instructors rather boring. Now I just go in the evenings for a regular workout, and it's relatively quieter after the "after work" rush at around 7pm. In general it's an OK place to work out.

Monthly costs are low as well as the group classes, but they charge you a lot for the sign up. It cost me about $70.
$20 for a member card, $30 for a fitness assessment, and so on.
That "assessment" seems like a waste of time for you and easy $30 for them.
Other than that it's a good place. Some of the equipment is old, but everything's clean and well maintained.
