Do not take your pet here at all costs!

After diagnosing our pet with Cushing's disease, The vet gave the Trilostane treatment to our pet. At that time our pet had already been diagnosed with Stage 2 kidney disease. Despite repeated insistence from us that we had read that pets with kidney disease should at all costs not be taking Trilostane, and that we noticed our pet eating less and had started vomiting repeatedly, the vet reassured us that our pet was alright and should keep taking the medication. In addition, we overheard the staff stating to each other that even though our pet was supposed to be taking the treatment at a dosage of 15, they prescribed him with capsules with a dosage of 20 simply because they didn't have the other dosage of medication in stock.

Within 2 months, our pet's kidney values had increased from 200 (stage 2) to over 700 (well over the stage 4 minimum of 500). Complications from his kidney led to liver and pancreas issues, and a gallbladder mucous seal. We brought our pet to an emergency 24 hour pet care hospital. After one week they were unable to permanently lower his kidney values. He was too weak to endure gallbladder surgery, and we had to put him down

Throughout this whole time, Dr. Cormier had been on vacation after the initial diagnosis, and all the remaining vets in the clinic passed my pet around to one another through multiple rounds of blood tests, X-rays, and ultrasounds, in order to shed responsibility. By the end, even though Dr. Cormier had returned, refused to see him when he came in because he realized he had wrongfully prescribed my pet the wrong treatment. Do not take your dog here due to their irresponsible and unsympathetic nature.

Vet in Toronto

The Secord Animal Hospital is definitely the best vet in the city. They are so warm and welcoming to your pet. I've had some bad experiences in the past with other vets, but never this one. Check it out for yourself!

I Brought my dog here for a visit after finding about Secord Animal Hospital through a friend. The staff was very friendly and they took care of my dog like it was family. The vet was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions.

In our first visit to this clinic we paid seven hundred dollars towards x-rays and blood tests for our 3 year old cat who was experiencing occasional and repeated bile vomiting, but otherwise appeared extremely healthy . We were told by the Vet during the examination that... more
