Scott Manor House, built in 1770, is a Provincial & Municipal Heritage property. The house features wishbone chimneys, hand-dug cellar, loose field-stone chimney bases, hand-hewn beams, a gambrel roof and two lateral wings. The house is now home to all of Bedford's rich history from 1749 - the present. It is only house of its kind in Canada - a true architectural and historical treasure.
Located on Sackville Road, the Scott Manor House Museum was built in 1770 as a private home by John Scott. The oldest house in Bedford, the unique building lies next to Fort Sackville. Now a museum, the house is open to public during the months of July and August between 10a and 4p. Featuring a good collection of artifacts belonging to the 18th Century, it makes for an interesting visit.... more
