I decided to pay another visit to Joseph Schneider Haus during a recent staycation! I had to pay only a small fee and it was well worth the visit. The guides, who were dressed in costume, were great. Joseph Schneider came to what is now known as the Waterloo Region in 1807. Along with many others, he arrived from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania for arable farmland. The house that he built in 1816 is now a museum.
