From OpenTable: For over twenty years, Santorini Greek Taverna has represented the best in Calgary’s Greek cuisine.Santorini was founded on the Greek values of filoxenia; literally the notion of befriending strangers. Thus, as all guests to Santorini quickly realize, they are immediately made part of the family, whether laughing with host Maria’s comedic personality or joining in on an... more

One of the original, still one of the best

This spot has been open for years in Calgary and serves up very authentic Greek food. They are a fun bustling bunch serving you. The tables are a bit cramped but adds to the fun atmosphere. Excellent legs of lamb.

Great Greek Food

Santorini has a great menu, with some delicious items made in a really authentic way. Their appetizers are all terrific, so make sure you try some of those before you eat. You'll want to come back as soon as you leave!

I wanted to keep the review quick and simple:Food is OK - you can expect about the same quality as what you'd get at fast food giant OPA!Pricing is average, considering the food quality.. it's right.Decor - needs an update badly.

Second visit to Santorini - simple surroundings with close set tables. Agree that appetizers are really good (calamari, saganaki), but have not been impressed with the entrees (over/under done). Service is consistently excellent. Value for dollar not great.

I rate the Food a 10 because their appetizers are EXCELLENT. The entrees are ok. A little pricey for what you get. I recommend going to OPA for the chicken Soulvaki. I didn't really enjoy my shrimp and scallop combo. I'm sure my boyfriend did. My friend didn't really like her chicken breast either. However, my one friend who was eating the salmon said it was good. For me, I would... more

Very traditional authentic Greek can be found in this cozy little building on Center Street, just over the bridge and a few blocks north of downtown. On a busy night there are regular, sudden bursts of flame as diners order CAD 6 plates of Saganaki, an appetizer of salty Greek goat cheese fried and then lit up in a tableside show. The entrees range from Souvlakis (CAD 14-16) to Ortikia, which... more
