Don't spend $$
Brought in snow blower installed carburetor kit.was not installed could not get money back. Refused to honor work done without addition charge $75.00 p/u charge. Save your $ not honest business practice .
$150 charge for estimate - hardly any work done
We had a Honda pressure washer that had a seized pump as well as leaking a grey oily liquid. We informed the business of this and what we had tried. We were told that it would take approx. 10 days for a complete inspection. We were informed to come and pick it up, that it would cost approx. $600 for a replacement. When we picked it up and paid for the service, we found out that all they did was to connect a hose and try to turn on the water.... and found it would not work. (exactly what we told them). The person who worked on it said that there was another test that would take an hour - but they decided against it. When asked how long it took them to connect a hose and turn the water on - they he said "45 Min". I said that $150 would warrant more work and that the 2nd test should have been done to determine the extent of the problem, and that I do not get paid $150 an hour... so they should do the work. He then asked if we had paid, if not he instructed his young staff member to lock up the pressure washer behind the gate. Then he walked away - extremely rude - mid conversation. When asked about the 2nd test that could have been done - the manager told us to get out. We asked to speak to the owner... which never came. We see this as a money grab, a company who is unprofessional. We have learned a hard lesson, and they have our money (for no work). Don't follow in our footsteps... Do NOT buy or have anything looked at, from their company.
SOS Power Sales - BAD Service that is !
Today I went to collect my small outboard engine at SOS Power Sales. I had left it for a tuning up. It is a small engine, 2HP, smaller than most lawn mowers. I take care of my engine and always clean and lubricate it. So I want it to be tuned and left at SOS Power for service. Surprise when the bill was $172 dollars just of labour, at $91/hour! I could not believe the outboard was returned in dirt filthy conditions. Grease and oil and dirt fingers and dust all over it. I left the engine there and ask SOS to clean it. I return to pick it up next day and noticed they did clean it with their noses apparently. Back at home I phone SOS to complain that a second examination proved they had done a lousy service. Oil was leaking and dust had entered inside the tank (my engine has internal gas tank). Scratches appeared were before leaving the engine at SOS I had a shine polished surface. All in all I had a very bad experience with services provide by SOS, not only on personal level but also in the economical sense and technically too. Be aware.

Prices very high to other local businesses - shop around.
October 21, 2011The service is nopt that good and the prices are quite a bit higher as they add on extras for delivery etc which others don't have. Shop around or you will pay up to 20% more here.
