I have a facial once a month and give my daughter gift cards so she can have treatments, She feels the same as I do that it is a very friendly place. The girl who does my facial is fantastic and the reception always asks me how my facial was. This was the most disappointing spa experience ever. I arrived to a minimally enthusiastic reception. Then I was led to changeroom with another new client and we were told that one of us could change in the bathroom (with no lock) and the other could change in the tiny dressing room. Not really a big deal in theory, but we were strangers so it was a little awkward. We should have been welcomed individually. On my way to the lounge I passed by the "laundry room", the door was wide open...the last sight I wanted to see was someone else's dirty towels lying in a heap on the floor waiting to be washed - these doors should be closed at all times! The girl who did my facial was friendly enough but she never once told me her name. Nobody took a look at my skin for a couple minutes to assess what they were working with and to ensure that I was getting the most appropriate facial for my skin's condition. I lay on a bed, face to the ceiling, staring at a flickering (faulty) flourescent light the entire time, which was not the serene environment I was hoping for. My glycolic facial was supposed to last 60 minutes. From start to finish it lasted no more than 40 minutes at most. I felt cheated. Nobody led me back to the changeroom. I admit that my skin does feel great the day after,so the treatment did work. However, if you are hoping for an hour of relaxation in a welcoming, warm, and organized environment - and want to feel like your business is valued - then I don't recommend Dove Spa in Oakville. http://www.weblocal.ca/dove-spa-oakville-oakville-on.html Great experience! You could hear people at the reception desk while I was having my massage. The person who did my massage was very good but the background noise was not relaxing. I had my eyebrows threaded and I did not even get lotion put on my eye area to sooth the redness- I did this on my own in the bathroom. It was unbelievable, SO relaxing, and IRMA was exceptional. The time and day of my appointment was a plus, being a week-day morning. The spa was quiet and the ambiance totally relaxing, with the minimum of noise. The pedicure was lovely and luxurious and they offered a fabulous warm wrap for my neck. However, the pedicure chairs were not as comfortable as I would have liked. I am just over 5 feet and I needed many cushions and a few adjustments during the treatment in order to remain comfortable. This did not deter me from buying another gift certificate for a gift for my sister! As a newcomer in Canada- just 2 years ago, I had to find many places to be my -to go place (doctor, aestetitian, bar, work e.t.c) Now for sure I scratched one of those from the lists as I found my beauty place :) I will try to be short, I did two services brazillian wax (with which I had I horrible experience about a year ago on another place, and havent done it since) and Indian head massage: Appointment: I did a little research,read several reviews here and called right away, on a Thursday asking for an appointment on Saturday- just two days after. The girl was very pleasant, I explained that I fear the waxing and she assured me there is nothing to worry about. Reception: I was pleasantly greeted by the Angela,she was in charge for the waxing, and she directed me to my room. Rooms, comfort and facility: A stylish and fancy facility, what amazed me the most was the spacious room with a quite large wash-room with rain shower. Towels and bath products all provided. The waxing room had a quite comfy bed and very nice lighting, the lady did not turn on the ceiling light in order to make it more comfortable she was using a portable waxing and facial light. Candle light and calming music helped quite a bit with my fear of waxing lol. Treatments: As mentioned, I had dreaded the brazilian but determined to give it another try, I can not stand that pain and I believe all of us are not quite enjoying this particular method of beautifying. Well if you are a gall like me than I strongly recommend you to go to Angela. Minimum pain, very fast and careful and extremely knowledgeable and experienced. Indian Head Massage: The lady's name was Becky and after a stressful week this is exactly what I needed, a long relaxing massage. She did a great job. The pedicure spot is quite comfortable, lots of nice pillows and magazines and I was offered a warm compress for my neck which was quite relaxing. The woman who gave me the pedicure was fantastic, kind, easy to talk to - it was a great experience. Only drawback is that the pedicure station is right in front of the door (there is a see through wall there but you can see and hear everything that comes in and out.)
