Hard to find good help these days!!!!
I have been dealing with Patrick Vack at weblocal for the past month, let me say he has really opened my eye to how important it is to have a business web site in this day and age. I cant say enough good things about him. He has helped me with every step of the way. Thanks again Pat

Full of false reviews
This site is an absolute joke! None of the reviews on it should be taken seriously since they do not validate them so you never know if you are getting the truth or not. Think twice before using! Weblocal is only after getting their own name out there - they do not care if the public is misinformed since they do not want to spend the money to validate each review. Shame on them for allowing the public to be abused and for enabling those "false" reviewers! = I posted 2 "bad" reviews - where's the other one? I guess weblocal is able to "pick-and-choose" what goes on this site after all! Post my other "bad" review so that the full background can be provided to the public!
Weblocal.ca is a local search site that offers users the possibility to freely post comments about businesses. Just like other websites offering this feature, it is virtually impossible to verify the exact accuracy of each comment, whether these comments are negative or really positive. However, with the many features offered with the "Enriched Content" profiles, businesses can engage with customers by answering comments, publicly or in private. Another good way to minimize the impact of a bad review would be to acquire positive reviews by asking customers to post positive reviews if they are happy with the service or products they received.
Excellent resource
This website is great for getting other people's reviews, and I'm glad they pull reviews from other websites too, so you know you're getting a good cross-section of what people think. Some addresses are generic though, like they just say Calgary not the actual address, but the reviews are the most important part anyway. I really enjoy using this site, and the iPhone app looks great!
Cool site!
This is a great website, I didn't realize sites like this existed before. You can not only see what other people in your city think about a business you're going to check out, like a restaurant, you can also very easily leave a review for whoever comes after you. I feel like I'm making a difference!

It's interesting, I've seen weblocal.ca show up in Google for numerous searches I've done across Canada (I'm a modest traveler), but I've never considered writing reviews until someone else mentioned the idea. It's rewarding to speak my mind though, and I hope others will catch on to the idea. It could generate even better and better quality for the website, which is already so helpful. The use of tags is something great, instead of categories or anything different, because you get a sense for what a shop or restaurant might be like, especially if there are no reviews. And if you want to find something similar, it's just a click to get there. And like a cherry on top, the website works well on my cell phone, so I use it for directions when I'm out on the go. I'm very pleased!
a great resource
I found out about weblocal.ca because of the iPad contest, and was surprised with what I found. I expected just a contest, but this opened my eyes to a whole new thing - a website that's offering a great community and platform for experiencing the world around us. weblocal.ca is a search engine and a social networking website all in one. you can find new businesses, and the mapping functionality is great for really finding the location, and you can find what your peers are doing and reviewing. what a great experience! writing comments is almost addicting, because i feel like i get to share my views with everyone and be heard. i like how the reviews and search capabilities and additional information about each business is all available within one website. i hope you'll expand advertising into western Canada, I think this site would be well-received in Calgary where there are always a lot of new businesses popping up, but it's hard to know what's good and what isn't without hearing from someone else. Keep up the great work, I'm really enjoying using this website!

Business listing websites sure vary in their quality, both in terms of how the site is built and the information they provide. I wasn't overly familiar with weblocal.ca until a number of months ago when a client of mine wanted to increase his business exposure and we found this opportunity. I really like the functionality offered with pictures, videos and comments, and it really gives you the information you need to make an informed decision about a business. It's a very easy site to use, and I will keep it bookmarked on my primary list for sure! Keep up the good work.

Jolie site, mais l'ergonomie n'est pas tout à fait à point.. Les courrriels manque un peu de personnalité. Et le référencement sur Google n'y est pas non plus.. Mais le concept est génial! Keep it up!

A competitor posted false comments on my profile. I contacted weblocal and expressed my concerns and provided them with the complete background on the situation. Martin at weblocal did not care that the truth was not posted and refused to remove the false review. We are now forced to take legal action to get weblocal to understand that they are not above the law. Weblocal is the "enabler" of false and misleading information.
