The Quality Inn West Harvest is not a cheap hotel it's affordable!
Beautiful Beaux-Arts in supreme downtown location. Rooms are well appointed and smallest detail taken into account. Enjoyed complimentary wine and nosh platter delivered daily. Furnishings sumptuous, plush and compfortable. Service 5 * plus. Attentive and customer service oriented. Madisons for dinner was handy, and the complimentary breakfast was a welcome start to the day. The paid... more
This Inn was highly recommended by fellow staff members, and I was not disappointed. The hotel was a lovely place to stay with wonderful staff who were so friendly and helpful. The restaurant "Madison Grill" attached to the Inn was absolutely divine. Each meal was terrific, and artisitcally displayed. I was so impressed that the a la carte breafast was... more
For a chance to spend a day shopping downtown Edmonton without the headache of parking & commuting - this downtown "gem" is the PERFECT spot to relax and feel pampered. The rooms are amazing and the restaurant is spectacular!!! I will be back!
I've stayed at this hotel quite a few times. The staff are always pleasant and welcoming. I have stayed in a variety of rooms which are uniquely decorated. Each room is clean and tasteful. I especially like that there is a "fake" fireplace in each room and bath salts. The best part is coming back to a complimentary glass of... more
Beautifully appointed rooms that welcome you home with a glass of wine, some cheese and a warm fireplace. Very cozy and that's the only drawback - just a little on the small side. I always stay here when I'm in Edmonton. The only thing missing is a gym which you need if you eat in the wonderful French restaurant on... more
My fiance & I first stayed at the Union Bank in in 2007 for our anniversary. We were very pleased with the service and quality of food which we received at Madison's Grill. Taking a small tour of the Hotel we declared this would be the place to celebrate our wedding if we ever married. 3 years later my boyfriend... more
We were looking for a one night romantic getaway and booked the Union Bank Inn for a recent Saturday night, with an expected check-in time of 8:00 pm. Unfortunately on the night before arrival, I was in the emergency ward at our local hospital with chest pains. My wife phoned to explain the situation and advised the desk manager that... more
The rooms are cozy and comfortable. The beds and bedding are up to my high standards.
What a great experience from the "normal" business trip. Designer rooms, with a fireplace, wine and cheese awaiting you everyday. Excellent staff.
I stayed while on business for just one night and I was thorougly pleased with this boutique hotel. I was situated ina room on the Jasper Ave. side and you could hear traffic, but come on, what could one expect? The location to the convention center and downtown Edmonton makes it a perfect place to go to on a business... more
I was surprised at the size of the room (smaller than I expected), especially since we had paid the extra for a deluxe room in the heritage wing. Perhaps if we had chosen the newer contemporary wing, the room may have been larger. I'm not sure if the contemporary wing has 2 chairs in the room. Don't stay here if... more
This hotel has an old world charm about it - classic, beautiful rooms wrapping you with down duvets and pillows and the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. The dining room also has the same warmth and charm with its high ceilings, fireplace, victorian decore, restored hardwood floors and the most wonderful quisine. Truly a fantastic experience !!!... more
Except for one pleasant person, we didn't find the front desk staff very pleasant. My wife was quite ill the day we had to check out and they simply would not show any flexibility on check out time without additional cost. We stayed 4 nights so would have expected more thoughtful service. One night there was a party in their... more
To rate this hotel according to the above rating scale is difficult. The physical location of this hotel is ideal... for what I was visiting for and what I wanted and needed. The YMCA is one block away and the hotel where I was meeting transportation to the location of my meetings was one block away, however, the front entrance... more
We stayed one night in the Hotel. As a "boutique" hotel the room size was adequate and very clean. We have no complaints about the staff and the breakfast was excellent. So what are our complaints you ask? Upon arrival at the hotel there was no valet parking offered to us, maybe because the eight covered parking spaces for the... more
Reception was friendly and accommodating. We arrived long before 3, but they allowed us to store our bags, which were already in our room when we arrived a few hours later. We were upgraded to the Presidential Suite, which was elegant and spacious, yet cozy. Perfect for a romantic getaway, complete with fireplace, jet tub, flatscreen tv, fridge and coffee... more
i'm sorry, but cleanliness isn't the only thing i need from a hotel, especially when it's suppose be a 4star "boutique" hotel at that. i arrived shortly after 3pm with 4 bags of luggage (it was a few day stay) and the gentleman at the front desk said that the room was not quite ready and asked me to have... more
I stayed here one night with my boyfriend for a romantic evening with out leaving town and we were not disappointed. We stayed in the Contemporary wing on the 5th floor, though our room was right next to the elevator we did not find it very noisy though there was a wedding party that was staying in the hotel. I... more
We stayed three nights in a room on the second floor of the Heritage Wing. The windows faced onto the main road (Jasper Avenue) which was very busy. Consequently we were disturbed during the night by loud traffic noises – particularly boy racers, revving up their motorbike engines as they sped away from the traffic lights. Having said this: the... more
My husband and I had our wedding at the union Bank Inn 2 years ago and even then there was huge disappointment in the service the night of our wedding and it took up to 3 hours to serve dinner to our tiny guest list of 80 people. The biggest diappointment was the morning after our wedding when we received... more
My husband chose this as the hotel we would stay in for our wedding night, he booked some sort of a romance package that included breakfast, and as per my request, a jacuzzi. The first thing I did when we got to our room was ran to the bathroom to check out the jacuzzi in the bathroom, to my disappointment,... more
Couldn't have been happier with my stay at Union Bank Inn. The room was gorgeous with a fireplace, comfortable bed and large whirpool-style tub. Upon check-in there was even a welcome snack. A nice bonus was that breakfast was included and the restaurant had a great selection of options.
This lovely little boutique hotel has tastefully decorated, although small rooms. The included breakfast in the hotel restaurant was excellent. The desk space in my room was minimal, which was a little frustrating for me as a business traveller, particularly as the internet access was not wireless and I was forced to sit at the tiny desk to work. My... more
They really try to stress this is a boutique hotel but it misses the mark. It's a smaller hotel, yes but it's not unique, fresh or different in any particular way. We were here with a group and everyone commented on the "wine, cheese, cookies" that show up in your room. It seems to be a selling point for them... more
We planned a conference for my work at the Union Bank Inn for about 22 people. The hotel has lovely rooms, all decorated differently but lavishly. The food at the restaurant was amazing. Our meetings were catered by the hotel and this food was delicious too. It is a nice quiet hotel with great charm and friendly staff.
I was married at the Union Bank on July 5th and stayed at the hotel for the three days before the wedding. This is a very honest review...with the good and the bad. One must remember that I dealt with the hotel for a full YEAR beforehand and corresponded with them on many occasions about rooms, the venue, food etc.... more
We stayed here for a romantic getaway. I was not pleased when the hotel called me to tell me that the room I booked through their website weeks earlier would not be available as one of their customers "extended their stay." I wanted a Heritage Room and got a contemporary room instead. The contemporary room was lovely, though! The rooms... more
We had a great stay at the Union Bank Inn. While the rooms are on the small side, they are decorated really nicely. We paid $199/night but that included a fantastic breakfast. We had a nice dinner at Madison's, as well. Because of the location of the Inn, we were able to walk to most of the places we wanted... more
We enjoyed the Inn very much - the room was quaint and cozy and the location is very nice - during the day. You can walk to the riverbank for a beautiful view, but during the evening and night it's a little scary. Unfortunately, we booked what was called a "romance package" through Expedia and when we checked out we... more
It is a most plesent hotel with more than Friendly staff. Patrick was exceptionally friendly and helpfull. Any Questions and he surely will be able to help. Now to the nuts and bolts. I was in the Breakfast room the morning of the last reviewers stay. All I can say is he (the guest) needs Meds. June his server was... more
We stayed at the Union Bank Inn in Sep 07 after having read several positive reviews. We were sorely disappointed. The rooms were small and very ordinary. We arrived at 2100 on a Sunday and discovered that the restaurant was closed. The staff were useless in terms of locating an alternative. This pattern continued throughout our stay; clueless/helpless staff with... more
Stayed here for 2 nights. Hotel sign not immediately obvious on the main road so can easily drive past and miss it. Reception staff friendly and efficient. Room was a Contemporary Deluxe one. Although it was bright and airy, the room was a little small for Deluxe standard in our opinion. Bathroom was fine. Definitely missing a safe in the... more
As far as city hotels go this was probably rather better than the average hotel although our "contemporary deluxe guestroom" was nothing to write home about. It was, however, clean and tidy and the bathroom spotless with all the usual complimentary toiletries. It must be said that the gentleman on reception the night we arrived - around midnight after a... more
Overall, a very nice experience! Patrick, the hospitality manager, was very attentive. The rooms are cozy. Stayed in the Heritage side. The room had some minor issues (overhead bath light out, shower knob missing but functional), but decor is nice and innovative use of space. Would have liked replacement of toiletries daily, and had to get the room card key... more
A review below entitled "Where do I begin?", must surely be about a different hotel. I can't understand it at all. The staff at the Union bank were so friendly and polite, each and every one, from the moment we checked in, to the moment we checked out. The star was a lady called June, who serves in the restaurant... more
I stayed at this hotel a little while back. I ran into so many problems... We went out to a wedding and when we came back at night, my key wouldn't work. We had to wait over 20 minutes before someone came to open it! When we got to our room we were quite tired but ended up with an... more
I booked the Union Bank as it was rated the #1 hotel in Edmonton based on Tripadvisor reviews...We were not disappointed! We had room #205, one of the designer rooms (this one was done by Chintz & Co). The walls were passion-pit red, and accented with black and white accessories. The overall effect was cozy and dramatic. The room featured... more
This is a lovely place to stay. I was looking for a place at the last minute and managed to get the last room in the house. It was smallish but very well appointed. There was wine and snacks awaiting us when we arrived at 11pm. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, and the a-la-carte breakfast (included... more
We have stayed in many different hotels in Edmonton but without a doubt, this has been the most lovely place we've stayed. CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN! The service is impeccable, the food phenomonal and the bed was to die for. Soft, comfy pillows. We'll be back, more often than not. We live in Camrose, so this is a real treat for... more
I am a great fan of the Union Bank Inn. I started off working there and finished getting married there. The building itself has alot of history. The staff are wonderfully hospitable and helpful always ready to make your stay comfortable and pleasent. The Inn is always clean and orderly even in the winter. All I am saying is don't jugde a book by its cover go and try it out for yourself and see... more
I recently visited Edmonton on business and stayed for 2 nights. I found the Union Bank Inn through reviews on tripadvisor and I was absolutely delighted with my visit. My room was in the Contemporary section of the hotel. After staying in so many average hotels over the years replete with stained carpets and horrible bedspreads, I actually gasped with... more
I have to travel to Edmonton, and most of the time I try to book myself in to the Union Bank Inn. This boutique hotel is in my opinion, as close to perfection as it gets. I've stayed here several times for business over the past three years, and have never had a bad experience. It doesn't matter if you... more
From check in to check out, I was glad I chose to stay here. We stayed in the contemporary wing. It was a very stylish yet comfortable room. So tastefully decorated and romantic. The best thing by far was the restaurant. And complimentary breakfast blew me away. I felt like royalty the entire time, and was treated as if I... more
Very nice hotel. Great staff. Only the Contemporary rooms have high speed internet so be sure to ask for those rooms or else dial up is the only other option. Very Very small work out room.
The general manager at this hotel is extremely helpful, friendly and professional. She went beyond my expectations to correct the enormous mistake I made in selecting a "Heritage" room. Be forewarned, "Heritage" means beautifully decorated but SMALL, really SMALL. The desk and hard desk chair in our first room were narrow and tiny, REALLY tiny. In the second room, the... more
We were spoiled with the lovely room, exquisite food and warm service. The room features were very very nice from the down quilt to the wine and cheese in the evening. We treated ourselves to the dinner at Madison's and were delighted with the quality of the food - the best ahi tuna and lemon tarts in our world so... more
This is the best boutique hotel in Edmonton. We stayed on the contemporary side of the hotel and we found it to be relaxing and clean. It almost felt like we were home. The breakfast included in the price was delicious. Strongly recomended. Can't say enough good things about it.
This 35-room boutique hotel is exquisite. Each of the rooms is uniquely and beautiful decorated. My last visit was in a standard room. The word "Standard" at the Union Bank Inn is a misnomer. The room was far from standard; it was luxurious. The Union Bank Inn's beds surpass those of the Westin's Heavenly Beds. The goose down comforter and... more
I choose to stay at this hotel because the concept of the old bank did sound interesting. When I got there I opted for the newer part of the hotel which was large and modern. I did not want too small of a room. The staff was wonderful and helpful. I would definitely stay again. Good value.
