A nice cozy and romantic place for a classy anniversary dinner. My wife had some food allergies and the chef went out of her way to accommodate. The food was tasty and well presented. The five course meal option was very filling so bring an appetite. We found the house recommended Riesling a little too sweet to go with dinner. I would suggest something drier.
We have been visiting the Unheardof for about the past 20 years. We have never had a bad experience and we always look forward to returning. We always recommend Unheardof to anyone who is looking for a fine dining/special occasion night out.
Food was not exceptional (We had the beef and pork tenderloin with the risotto to start). Ambiance was very nice, but overall, the cost was too much for the food quality. The pork was average, and the beef was too dry and served with hash browns. Wild mushroom risotto tasted exactly like Campbells mushroom soup on overcooked rice (not saying it was, but it had the same flavor). Some food items... more
As usual the Unheard of experience was incredible , everything was perfect. The food and ambiance where very very good, recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Ordered the bison for my entree. least favorite part of my meal. It was good but definitely have had a lot better at other places in the past. HIghly reccomend the mushroom risotto. So delis! overall a very good expreience :)
We attended the Summer Wine Wednesday with a set menu of 4 courses, and 4 tasting glasses. Of the four courses, the first (Greek Salad) was average, the second (Canneloni Crepe) was mediocre, but the third (Roast Pork Loin) and fourth (Butter Tart Flan) were absolutely delicious! The wines were matched well. Overall, an enjoyable evening.
What an awesome restaurant -- I haven't been to Unheard Of since I was a teenager...and 20 years later it was even better than I remembered. Absolutely fabulous food, great service, and a great dining room atmosphere combined to make an excellent night out.
We found both the decor and the food dated in addition to overpriced. I would not consider this establishment "fine dining" nor would I recommend or return to the restaurant. There are far better options in Edmonton for beautiful and innovative food, lovely ambiance for a reasonable prices.
The only aspect that lowered the experience was the man on the cell phone at the next table. Would request that the restaurant adopt a 'no cell phone' policy. Food was over the top delicious
Usually everything at this restaurant is very good. We were there for the summer wine menu. We felt the wine pairings did not always complement the food. In particular, the second wine, an old world Chardonnay, was much too light compared to the very smoky mackerel. Also the glasses used for the wine seemed inappropriate. The first two wines were both Chardonnays, yet one came in a red wine... more
Very poorly done. Tuna had no flavor lef a blood like taste in pallot.
We have been dining at the Unheardof Resturant now for a couple of years. The food & atmosphere in the past was amazing. Last week we dined agian and were sad to see the Waiter of many years Michael was no longer working there. The menu has changed all good things it seems come to an end sometime. We found the Menu to be very boring and I did not care for the change and the new menu selection.... more
Excellent food, venison a little gamey, but still good, server was good, but over worked, onverall very good, I would deffinately go back.

The name, a twist on chef Lynn Heard's name, is somewhat ironic, considering that the restaurant has earned a stellar reputation. Its menu changes frequently, depending on what's fresh and seasonal. Never fear, though – you'll always be met by fabulous food and absolutely incredible service. Dishes you might encounter include tenderloin of buffalo, veal medallions with chanterelles, and dilled... more
