Close to Ottawa

It was close to Ottawa and had free parking. The pool looked like fun but was closed when we wanted to use it. The room was fine. It was clean, quiet and we had no problems.

Desk clerks were friendly & efficient. The hotel is dated & furnishings somewhat worn. Restaurant food was tasty but very expensive for what we got. Proximity was good -- met our needs.

I didn't appreciate the 1st room I was issued due to being adjacent to the water park and the pungent stench of clorine. The 2nd room issued on the main floor was much much better.

Amazing, Helpful Staff

We stayed from Tuesday til Saturday. The staff was absolutely amazing. My special needs son was happy to be able to bring our dog and cat on our stay-cation. The staff were all amazing with dealing with my son's needs and he loved being able to give a lot of them hugs. Not Bad at All!

While I can tell you all the little things about the hotel I will just leave them at that! They where little and while I do not have much to say in bragging terms, I would suggest if you need a decent hotel in not a bad area of Ottawa this one will do.

Close to all attractions!

Very enjoyable.....employees of the hotel were very pleasant. Everything you need or require on site. Since we had my elderly parents with us they accomodated us with side by side rooms with connecting doors which made my parents feel more secure but we still had our privacy with each room.

Indifferent Service, Lumpy Pillows

The guy who checked us in was great - friendly, knowledgeable, efficient. Then it was all downhill. The room overlooked the indoor water park - it's awful smelling chlorine all night. View of a waterpark

My kids loved just sitting on the balcony watching the waterpark. They are 2 and 1 so they did have fun in the kiddie pool as well. Our room had different colors of paint on the same wall, bathroom had mold and was unacceptable, only one vending machine which was broken, restaurant service was horrible both for dinner and the pathetic breakfast they have the nerve to charge for. Look elsewhere. I was disappointed

An Average Hotel For A Good Price

This hotel was average but it was at a good price. The staff were friendly and helpful, my friend and I talked to our cleaning lady daily. The room was always very clean as was the hotel. The location of our hotel was okay as we walked to where we needed to go. There were also many bus stops near by. The only downside to this hotel was that it didn't have a bathroom fan.

Needs a lot of work.

This hotel used to be the infamous Talisman, a jewel of a hotel. Although the room was clean, the overall ambiance of the hotel was that it was in need of a renovation. Staff was courteous and price was right for location.

Nice hotel for a family

We were able to do an early check-in when we called an hour before arriving. It was great experience arriving with the room ready immediately and the reception staff was very pleasant. She informed us about the hours for the hotel pool and workout area.

My 10th Stay at Travelodge

Usually things are pretty good, and after 10 stays there, I've only had small incidents with the staff. This trip, there was a blonde lady at the front desk, Tuesday afternoon (March 25, 2014). She may have been having a bad day, but she was considerably unfriendly. :-( I don't usually see that at this hotel.

They don't call it 3 stars for nothing

We went for my sons birthday and he had a great time at the water park. The rooms however were quite dingy and the sofa bed was so uncomfortable that my son asked to sleep in the queen bed with me. Hotel was nice, rooms clean , staff friendly and helpful. The restaurant is another matter. Not enough wait staff ( had to go to bar to get her attention after 10-15 minutes) and half of our food was cold when it arrived at out table. Fries, however, were hot and tasty!

We were there for family business for a week. It was great for our daughter who enjoyed the wave pool and water slide.

Good hotel for a family.

Our family stayed for two nights (child's hockey tournament). Even though the tournament was in Kanata, we stayed in Ottawa because we had a good experience at this hotel in the past.

Only complaints would be that I requested a crib/playpen ahead of time because we had our 8-month-old with us, and ended up without both nights of our stay... We liked the price that we were able to get with bookit, and that it was not too far from downtown where we went to meet our daughter who was there from out of town as well.

Hotel staff are excellent - reception personnel, particularly Sandrine, are welcoming, friendly and very professional. Rooms and common areas are very clean, on-sight parking is ample and included.

We had a junior suite and it was wonderfully large. The restaurant was great too, reasonable prices and friendly servers.

The only thing I didn't like was the condition of the bathroom. It desperately needs a renovation. I wanted to soak in the tub but the condition of it was horrible.

This hotel could be good, but the rooms are very loud you can hear everything in the hallway and everyone out there can hear you. What a dump. No bed skirts exposing stained, ripped box springs (see photos). Dingy, dirty and when I asked to be switched to a nicer room, the front desk told me I "was better off in this room". Checked out on the spot and drove down 417 to the Hampton Inn by Hilton, which was way nicer (and with CAA weekend rate) cheaper!

This hotel is meant for families with small children who want to use the water park. Every room faces the water park, and the screaming of kids starts at 8 am when the water is turned on. The rooms smell of chlorine. Not a restful and pleasant stay if you do not have small children and want to sleep in past 8 am on a weekend. Cleanliness is an issue and beds are a disaster. Comfortable, informative and great staff

I rested before my presentation on my meeting. The staff was extra helful with information of the city. My room was clean. I could have been closer to the city, but because of the professional and helpful staff, I was able to get where I needed to go and on time. This was my first time in Ottawa, Canada and I felt safe.

Excellent location

If you take the highway the hotel is only 12 minutes from downtown Ottawa. There is so much to do. We took a city bus tour which was very informative. We also took a boat cruise which was excellent. So many places to eat and lots to see.

We paid 200.00 for a room that looked at a cement wall in the indoor pool area. Chlorine smell was terrible...towel in bathroom was completely stained and manager said nothing. No air flow. Stayed two nights in April 2007. The room was very clean with a king sized bed and a queen hide-a-bed. The Wave Pool is not open all the time, Saturday is the only day it is open for the full day. Can't wait to return

What an awesome hotel and location. Its pretty much off Hwy 417 and no difficulty finding. The service was excellent and so were the rooms. The waterpark was my favourite part of my stay. I also enjoyed getting a morning newspaper everyday. I will definitely return to this location again when I return to Ottawa! I also enjoyed the Wireless Internet in the rooms.

Not cheap but reasonably priced considering other Hotels in the City. In general the Hotel was very clean and the food and service was good. We are planning to return this winter.

The rooms were spacious & clean, easy to access the pool & training room. Food in the hotel resteraunt was not as good as you might expect. Desk service was very good & friendly people.I like to work out around 7:00 a.m. but couldn`t use the hot tub because the pool side doesn`t open until 10:00 this doesn`t work for those of us that want a bit of relaxation seperate from the kids.I see on site... more
