Gave me a care package for the dog of biscuits & doggy doo bags in a bone shaped dispenser now I have one for the regular lead as well as the extendalead. Door cards didn't work initially but they fixed them immediately, & the bathroom sink didn't drain properly, otherwise a good stay. They told me the extra per night charge for the dog was only $10 not $15 that Expedia charged.

this hotel was/is being renovated and not all rooms are done yet. The bed was comfortable. The room was not vacuumed well. The bathroom was clean. I had to walk a bit to get there from the bus stop. There are chain restaurants around for a quick and light meal.

Generally recommended

First time Expedia user. Booked a double queen for 2 adults and 2 kids. When I arrived they said they didn't have any rooms with 2 beds! Wha-wha-what?!? It worked out that we got 2 singles rooms side by side for same price, but the "what if" was a bit unsettling as we arrived at10 at night. Otherwise staff was nice and it worked out.

Visiting family and needed somewhere close. We left our room in the morning and didn't return until late at night. This room met our needs. Family members familiar with the hotel said the restaurant served a good breakfast, but we didn't need it. Overall, a little worn but clean and the staff were friendly.

convenient location to tourist attractions

Counter staff (Steve) extremely helpful with directions to attractions and shopping. The bed was a little small and too hard for our liking but the room was clean and comfortable. The indoor swimming pool was fantastic, clean and lots of extra towels were provided pool-side.

It was an excellent week, great location and easy access to the highway. The only negative thing about the room was the air conditioning wasn't working properly.

Two nights stay

I liked it a lot. Rooms are clean. Internet connection in our room had problem. They said technician will call and so he did. But he said the signal is too weak to reach our room. We we didn't have wifi.

This hotel we have stayed at twice, but it doesn't offer any kind of breakfast. As we were there visiting family we went to their place to eat. Staff was okay and helpful. Not all the rooms have fridges and microwaves.

Free Parking

I have stayed here before when on business in Ottawa. The rooms are small and the hotel is no frills. However, it is close to downtown, there is plenty of free, spacious parking which is great for our oversized vehical. Despite the fact that this is an older hotel, it is kept clean and everything in our room worked.

We expected the room would have a lingering smokey smell after all it was a smoking room ! We weren't disappointed. May 24 Weekend stay

Pleasant enough. Hotel starting to looked worn out!!! Had noisy neighbours Sunday night. Left their dog in room and poor little thing cried whole time they were out for dinner. Also some people forget that they may just be coming in but others are asleep and they should not speak loudly in the halls

I stayed 3 uneventful nights. The staff was friendly and helpful and the adjoining restaurant makes this location very attractive. Seconds from the highway also makes it easy to travel if you have access to a car.

This hotel was outdated. The rooms were dinghy and small. Our shower did not work and the wifi did not work either. Beds were terribly uncomfortable. Overall I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

The room is clean and comfortable. It is everything you need for an overnight stay while on business. The most unfortunate part is that it is a regular haunt for teams travelling in and around Ottawa and this leads to noisy guests until late into the night. So you take your chances.

Booked along our trip and had a coupon. They appently didn't go together So they led us cancel the booking and accepted the coupon.
We got a good room with all the necessities.

The location is good for those wishing quick access to the 417. I had a king size bed which was very comfortable but took up most of the room. If it was not for the very helpful staff then this review whould be worse. Stayed Canada Day weekend so expected it to be busy but did not expect people barbequeing in the car park !

The reviews are right -- a bad choice

This place seemed more like a 25 year old motel than a Travelodge. The place was more of a truckstop than hotel. My 3 of 5 rating is generous.
Rooms are small and outdated. Not a nice neighbourhood. OK bar/restaurant across from the entryway. For the money, there are way better places to stay in Ottawa, not far from here.... more

The hotel was shabby. We had a room with a king-size bed, for which the room was too small. There was hardly room to change your clothes. The old air-conditioner was so noisy it couldn't be used at night if we wanted to sleep and the weather was hot.

There is nothing to be overexcited about by this Hotel- Standard features, No free breakfast, Room was adequate, and as I recall, the TV was pretty big for the room. the pool is tiny and really salted and chlorinated....
room is tiny....good for one person not couple...
the other patrons are noisy..or maybe the walls are just that thin!!! hotel floors not patrolled..
bathrm and fixtures old and out of style and not clean....
all in all...maybe a 2 on 5...
for the price i payed....this is a big disappointment.

My reservations got screwed up and could only get a double the 1st night, NOT every room has fridge etc, The salt water pool gave me a bad rash or maybe that was the 60 degree water, the restaurant couldn't get either of our meals right. Average Stay

Accidentally booked a smoking room (through Hotwire), but was disappointed at not being able to get a replacement, especially after a long drive from Toronto. Rooms are moderate sized and comfortable.

The place is easy to locate and it is clean. They also have friendly desk representative named Imeeh who is willing to help in all your questions. we are glad to find one of the place here in Ottawa.

Good Stay

I spent one night here, while passing through Ottawa... The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Free wireless internet was definately a plus. Would stay here again.

Business trip

Clean and nice staff. Unfortunately when I was staying there the hot tube was out of service! Kind of far from the city of Ottawa but I was there for business so it really didn't matter at all.

This is a convenient well situated. For the price it is worth going there. You need to come by car, as this is situated in the outskirts of Ottawa. There is ample parking lot, though.

Comfortable economical room

The king size bed was very comfortable and because we like the room a little cooler the duvet on the bed was fantastic. The shower was good and we liked that there was a bathroom fan. The overall room and bath were a little tight but for two people it was good. I could not get Wi-fi to work but the staff were very accommodating. Just checked in. Told lots of break-ins. Swamped with middle-school kids; really loud at 1AM. Rooms suck. Had to take handicap room or smoking because internet booking was 'what's available.' No free breakfast. Printing is $10 for 30 minutes. Hot tub broken. Pros: Free parking. Clean towels. Guy at front desk is friendly. Could tolerate if cost under $100.

This hotel is dirty, the room smelled like a musty basement, the bathroom had someone's hair in the bathtub and on the bathroom floor! Overpriced! Dirty!

Horrible/rude service over the phone, tiny rooms with dirty carpets. However was unexpensive. pool was closed for maintenance our whole stay which ws unpleasent

Nice, quiant hotel which is close

Although I did not spend much time in the hotel, it did have its good and bad points. GOOD - location, just off the main highway with stores, gas station, and restarant next door. Wished there was a continental breakfast offered as they listed in the ad. The pool was good but small.BAD - the only vending machines present are located on the third floor, not much for television either.

My review of Travelodge Ottawa East

Fine clean room and bath. Table and internet access for me to comfortably work in to room. Friendly staff. No breakfast; however; an extremely close restaurant connected with covered outside walkway.
