Our staff service all major home appliances and are highly knowledgeable and experienced service technicians.
Worst experience with Whirlpool and especially their outsourced subcontractor TAS (Toronto Appliance Service) for Refrigerator repair. Talk about customer service...NONE! Whirlpool, you need to run a service blueprint exercise to better understand how your workflows affect customers. Secondly, you should drop TAS as your subcontractor because of their reviews and service I have experienced this... more
I contacted Toronto Appliance Service Ltd (TAS), as an authorized Bosch service company, to repair my Bosch dishwasher in downtown Toronto when an E09 error code appeared. A technician came two days later and told me I needed a new control panel, a part that had to be ordered. I had to wait an entire week for TAS to return. The same technician arrived over two hours late (without any advance... more
Our kitchen Aid refrigerator seal/gasket had separated for part of the frame and the cool air leaked from the refrigerator. Condensation built up in the refrigerator. We had a service call on 3 occasions. Each time the seal/gasket separation was larger. The refrigerator compressor is running all the time, the refrigerator is not cold and food is going bad. The door is also not hanging... more
If I could give them a lower score, I would. Firstly, they say they would send a certified gas technician to install my new gas cooktop.....the guy who came was not certified. I asked him to leave (he look relieved - I don't think he wanted to assume the risk anyway). Next they sent another technician who also was not certified and he wanted me to pay double the amount. I asked him to leave as... more
I don't normally write scathing online reviews, but this one takes the cake. Whirlpool used a company called "Toronto Appliances Service". Since it's difficult to delineate which company is responsible for certain mistakes, I will simply outline my bad experiences. Overall, there were five things they did which were very costly to me and annoying:
1. I called Whirlpool Canada when my...

Whirlpool sent TAS tech to fix our oven. Tech was an hour late and then damaged our hardwood floors pulling the oven to and from the wall. Damage was done on Feb 2 and I am still dealing with both companies to get the damage fixed. It is now April 5. DO NOT ever buy Whirlpool products OR use TAS to fix any of your appliances. They will damage your house and then NOT take responsibility for it.
Too bad I can't rate lower than one star. I called to set up an appointment to have a leak in my dishwasher repaired. It was scheduled for 12-4 several days later. Those hours came and went and no one showed up. Around 6:30pm, a rude tec cam to the house and said he was there for a service call. I explained to him that the appt was from 12-4 and that I had made arrangements with another... more
A terrible experience and our appliance still isn't fixed. Their tech guy misdiagnosed the repair on our new KitchenAid gas range. We waited 2 1/2 weeks for parts delivery from the US only to find out the parts weren't the problem. Waiting another 3-5 business days for a gas valve.Hard to believe these guys have any clue what they're doing or really care. We've been without our oven in... more
Would never use again. They were terrible. Caused damage to my kitchen. They replaced a part and never tested that the appliance was working before they left. It took me 1 min to work out that they did not fix it.
A rude technician came to fix my dishwasher. left a leaking sink, and the company did not return my calls when i left a message regarding the issue. When I did call back and got a manager, he insisted that the tech got lots of compliments, so my leaking sink didn't count.Go ANYWHERE else.
These people have wasted my money and my life. I started with an initial visit, which I understood at the time was paid for with money that I put at risk. If they couldn't repair my air conditioner, I'd still have to pay, and I knew that. What I didn't know is that they weren't going to put much, if any, effort into fixing it. The part required to fix my air conditioner is not manufactured... more
Worst service experience ever. They don't do their jobs properly, they're not accountable and their technician, L O'Neil, who we had the unfortunate experience of dealing with, is consistently late, rude and confrontational, and will outright lie to the customer service reps, who then use that as their "proof" when addressing your concern. And, this is the company that Kitchen Aid referred me... more
bad bad bad, very very very bad
worst is employees from customer service on the phone. unfriendly, unhelpful. 0/10, repulsive experience!
technician charged 88 for service, 98 per hour for labor and 150 for a part... and 32 days later, fridge broke again... customer service was totally unfriendly, unapologetic and did not try to help. only offered the same thing again... likely with the same...

I would have given 1 1/2 stars for the tech showing up on time and being knowledgeable, but 2 stars would be too many, since they didn't fix the problem.
My washing machine was filling with water when it was off. I called and made an appointment, and was told that the actual repair company (who, it turns out, isn't who you call to make the appointment) would call me back to confirm. Except...

They charge $88 bucks to come out there and then another $98 to do five minutes of work. Granted the dryer was fixed but a complete rip off. We had to argue the serviceman down to $120 which worked out to $135 after tax. All he did was open the back of the dryer and move the belt back into place. Called the company to negotiate a fairer price considering their service man was there for all of... more
We have called Toronto Appliance to repair a kitchenaid range, that we still have under warranty. The technician, Victor, came to repair it. His attitude was really frustrating right from the beginning. He refused to take his shoes off, when asked ( it was rainy and muddy outside) and it seemed like we were taking up his time. He came 7 times and replaced the same burner 3 times then tried to... more
I too have had a bad experience with this company. I do not recommend them and I will be writing to kitchen aid with my recommendation that they discontinue using this company as an authorized service provider. My calls to Toronto Appliance Center have gone unanswered.
Review Update: I ended up buying a new fridge & they accepted one of the parts back, and waived the service charge... total cost was only around $150, which I feel is fair.
Original Story: Was originally not impressed with a missed service call and expensive parts, but TAS has a long operating history and only buys OEM parts. It was going to cost me $600+ for three parts and repair of my fridge.
***DO NOT USE TORONTO APPLIANCE SERVICE*** We have an in wall microwave/oven combo (kitchenaid) unit where the microwave portion wasn't heating. Sounded like it was working properly but wouldn't heat anything. I did some research on the Internet and most results indicated that the magnatron was faulty so I mentioned it to the repair man. After he fiddled with the unit for about 3 hours,... more
An extremely hasty and poor diagnosis nearly resulted in me spending hundreds of dollars. After being dissatisfied, I got a 2nd opinion - turns out only a dirty sensor was to blame. I am now trying to get a refund on the botched diagnosis to no avail. They won't... more
