Theo's Greek Taverna, Ottawa

We've been going to Theo's Taverna for years, although I haven't been in a while. The food is typical Greek but very good. The atmosphere is excellent, small booths all around the back walls, and it is very welcoming.

Not great for the price. The physical atmosphere is nice and very Greek. I particularly like the private booths which make for an intimate dining experience. The service was good and the food was served hot but no Greek salad with the Souvlaki plate? Thought that was standard fair around here. Nothing special about the food though. Not terrible but not note worthy.

Disappointing Mother's Day Dinner

Theo's has been, for many years, one of our favourite restaurants in Ottawa however it seems they've undergone a change of ownership.
Gone was our favourite server, gone was the showmanship than usually accompanied saganki and gone was our favourite dish from the menu (they've added pasta dishes and pizza....as if there aren't enough places to buy Italian dishes).

Fantastic

My favourite Greek restaurant in town. It's amazing food, the service is good. The people are very nice. Terrible food

We've been going to Theo's for years, and unfortunately the current iteration was extremely disappointing. My husband's green beans were canned, my calamari was cooked to a crisp (maybe fried twice), and the saganaki was awful. We won't be going back.

An enjoyable night out

Recently 6 of us went for a pleasant dinner at Theo's Greek Taverna in Ottawa's west end. Three of us had Greek beer which was nice and light as well as being reasonably priced.

I was hesitant to go to Theo's after hearing about new owners and reading some reviews, however we decided to give it a try as we have always enjoyed our experiences there. Great place to eat

I go many times to eat at Theos and the food is really good!!!! The new owners are really nice and they did not change the prices on the menu at all !! the prices are the same from the old owner . Revisited this restaurant last night (it's been about 2 months). It was a good experience! Tried something new on the menu, still replaced gorgeous Greek salad for beans which are not my favourite. Hubby ordered a chicken dish and was impressed with the taste.

Overall, it seemed a little bit more organized this time. And a little busier. Eventually there will be a new menu, but not quite yet.

Very disappointed in quality of food under new management

My family and I have been going to this restaurant for 4 years. Being Greek myself, this was the closest I could get to Greek authentic food. Going down hill fast

Under New Management and it's going the wrong direction. Staff was inexperienced and food was very average at best. Pick up some chicken at the KFC on the corner. Money better spent there.

Wonderful.....as usual

We've been going to Theo's a few times a year for a number of years now.
The menu offers a good variety of dishes and the service is outstanding. If you've never had saganaki (an appetizer) it alone is worth the trip to the west end (both gastronomically and from an entertainment standpoint)

Yummy Lunch

Great lentil soup - lovely salmon with a lemony sauce and Greek salad - altogether a fine lunch. Nice, attentive server and pleasant, clean decor. Comfortable chairs with casters for easy rolling in and away from table. It was, all in all, a completely satisfactory experience and I am really fussy.

Tasty food - small portions

We celebrated a birthday recently at Theo's. We chose this restaurant because although it is Greek cuisine, the menu is very accessible to everyone which was a concern as my parents (seniors) were joining us. OPA! An incredible culinary treat

First time having Greek food in over 20 years and can't say enough about the service and quality of the meal. Calamari and sausage appetitizers were done to perfection! The Rack of lamb was also superb! The outgoing staff, friendly atmosphere and menu is truly among the best I've experienced in Ottawa of any culture.

The restaurant is on the small,-side and the food is fantastic. The Tzatziki is out of this world as is their pita! The food melts in your mouth. The souvlaki, salmon and chicken korfu come very highly recommended by fellow diners.

Was surprised when I stopped by in for lunch as I had previously only been in the evening. totally different attitude but still upbeat. very large portion sizes.

Really great bar. The staff are really nice and the atmosphere is totally enjoyable. Everytime I am in Ottawa, this is one place that I have to stop in and enjoy their great food. This is a must try and you won't be disapointed! Don't forget to try the appetizer...the wings are really good!

This establishment is one of the best greek food restaurant in the capital of canada. The prices are reasonable as well as good size portions It family own ran by son, sister waitress and cooks are mom and aunty. Pretty authentic. Highly recommend the calimari and the swordfish but my family love the brochettes.all in all its high on my list
