It is really shame to invest in such a fad where they pander to crowd that for now seems impressed stupid cheap tin baking trays and coffee in measuring cups.
Ate there twice six to eight months after they opened in Oakville location on Lakeshore.
Burger dry and tasteless Bun was the "Villagio" brand from the grocery store. Hear they...

Had the hunka hunka burger with peanut butter, bananda and bacon and it was delish! Service was fast and the servers were very pleasant. I loved the vibe in the bistro. Kind of a garage type feel. The menu is vast and there is a burger for everyone I'm sure. A little on the pricy side but worth it. I... more
My boyfriend and I tried The Works for the first time recently on the recommendation of some friends. My guy had the Nacho Libre burger and loved it so much he wished he'd ordered two of them and skipped the fries. I had the Born to Brie Wild and found it quite dry. I did order mine naked so there... more
When I travel I'm always on the hunt for a great burger, and this is the best in Oakville! Sk8er Boy is my favorite because of the peanut butter! I'm a sucker for PB on my burger, and this place does it well! You pick your meat, type of bun and toppings, which are abundant!Quirky atmosphere and always great service,... more
I had been to The Works in Oakville five times in the last 2 years. The last time was mid-April 2014. I had family come in from out of town and decided The Works would be different. I had always had a good experience, but this time was disappointing. We ordered shakes and I told my brother not to fill... more
the burgers here are delicious! i've had both beef and veggie and have never been disappointed. they have a huge menu which can be over welming so if its your first time going i suggest you look at the menu online first! it can get extremely busy especially summer evenings or a saturday night. if you would prefer to have... more
Had lunch Saturday at The Works. A group of 4 of us got a table right away and we were served drinks fairly quickly. Our waiter was great. We all ordered something different and everyone loved their meals. No complaints at all and we will all go back. Fun and interesting décor.
The prices are quite reasonable for the amount of food you actually get. You can order a burger off the menu or have them create one with exactly what you want on it. It's by far the best burger place I have ever experienced. But the real success to this place is its servers - they are extremely friendly and... more
Went for lunch. Very busy place and very child friendly! Menu is varied with every combination of burger ingredients imaginable! You chose your patty (chicken, beef, veggie, elk...), then the bun, then the sides. You can always have something different every time you go. Expect slower service as it is very busy. Price is very reasonable. Fun place.
I love coming to The Works for burgers. They always have such a huge selection of combinations and have not let me down yet. On my most recent visit to The Works they were having a Bacon Promo. I like bacon so I was excited.
To start I ordered the deep fried bacon appetizer, I tired the Getting Piggy With...

So much to choose from, try your burger with chicken, and gluten free options!
Best sauces, best appetizers, best burger concoctions!
This location is always busy so be prepared, and its a tight fit inside.
Dinner out with my 6 & 7 year old - they LOVED the kids coconut milkshake. The service was friendly and fast, the food tasted good and the price was not too high.
Arrived just after 6 pm on a Friday and was told there would be a 20 minute wait. Realized that pretty much all the tables had probably been filled within a few minutes of our arrival so we hunkered down for the wait. Once seated our waiter, Luke, was very friendly and attentive throughout, offering a Coke refill without being... more
Hmmm... where to start ... went in for a quick burger and beer midafternoon Sat. The place was pretty much empty and lots of staff so that was promising. It quickly went downhill. The bathroom was disgusting - dirty, one of two toilets broken so smelly as well. Back at table, ordered and then waited for forever for burger -... more
THE WORKS is all about delicous burgers!
100 % Canadian fire-grilled beef with six patty options.
The variety of burger toppings is endless. Any and every combination you can imagine or you can build your own burger. The menu is very creative with 45 burger combinations and entertaining names assigned to each order. There also is a variety of starters,...

Happened to stumble across this place last summer while shopping with a friend. Love burgers but was in a rush so ordered the BLT with sweet potato fries. It had to be the best BLT I've ever had! It comes on a croissant which I didn't expect but it was seriously great! I've been back there quite a few times... more
If you go early (before 6:00) you have no trouble getting in (no line ups) normally. We have been numerous times over the past few months are never disappointed. The prices are "average" by today's standards but not to many places over the variety of burger options that the Works does. We have hamburgers with fried eggs, peanut butter and... more
Had lunch here recently. Atmosphere pleasant - original decor. Great choice of burger toppings. Service quality varied during meal from very attentive to "where did they go?"
We've stood in long lines out the front door to discover when we got to the door 1/4 of the tables were empty just hadn't been cleaned yet. We've had wrong orders delivered to the table. We've had wine delivered on time and milkshakes half an hour later. We've had polite. We've had rude. We've had c@!%!y service. We've had... more
Very unique dining experience in terms of the selection of burger toppings. Cool venue. Variety of choices for patties. Interesting presentation of drinks in measuring cups. Food was delicious. One disappointment is that the restaurant does not provide any nutritional information for the health-conscious. Some people do like to go for the healthiest option, even at a burger joint. Would... more
We were there for lunch. They told us when we ordered that it would take 20 minutes to get our burgers. 40 minutes later...still waiting. My husband was chastised by the waitress when he ordered the plain and simple. If you don't want people to eat it, don't put it on the menu. If we're going to pay a premium... more
Looks trendy. Service was excellent!
Food very disappointing. Coffee was not hot.
Our burgers and fries were all room temperature. The buns were cool.( meaning cold)
Loved the huge choice of toppings.... But......yuck....not good.
Won't be back.
Fortunately during this visit we did not have to wait and were actually seated immediately. As expected the staff was courteous, efficient and very cheerful. There were four of us, and although the place got very busy quickly, at no time were we rushed, even though we clearly finished our meal and were simply talking. The burgers were good, although... more
Very good Hamburgers and an insane amount of choices.
It's expensive for what it is -- but worth giving it a shot.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
I really like their burgers, but it is pricey.
Now that I am on Carbs diet, not going to this kind of place anymore.
They should include an Atkins kind of burger.
Instead of bread, chunks of american lettuce.
We have been to the works on three occasions, with a combination of both adults and kids. The topping selections are amazing, and I have enjoyed all of the burgers I have had. The kids enjoyed the children's menu, but especially the milk shakes. My daughter has a gluten allergy, and luckily enough, they have gluten free burgers! The one... more
The burgers here are really good. I've tried a few of them as this is my 3rd visit. So far my favourite burger is "the sexy burger". The mix of pineapple and hot peppers makes a great flavour. The burgers could be a little juicier, and the service could be a little faster, but overall, I would come here again,... more
The burger was excellent and ordered the Smokin Big Burton, the bread slightly mushy and fell apart overall enjoyed it. Your water or pop is brought in glass measuring pitchers which is unique and have dined at the works twice. You can find a variety of milkshake flavours and tried the creamcicle .. I liked the interior of the restaurant... more
I so enjoyed my first two trips to this upscale burger establishment, that I recently returned to try it again. Unfortunately, the Warldork salad and burger combo I selected was not a winner. The burger was overcooked and dry and the previously wonderful salad now featured limp canned pears instead of fresh ones, sparce pieces of blue cheese and wilted... more
It's a burger people...not worth the regular 30 minutes plus wait time to get a table. Lots of burgers to choose from, almost too many. My bun was mushy and fell apart half way into my burger. They really push the over priced onion rings but I passed on those. I prefer the less crowed Southside cottage Grill down the... more
The works is awesome. Its a fun environment with an extensive menu, but its for sure some where I would go "once in a while". Its not somewhere I would take the whole family because its just too expensive. The food is AMAZING. Everything I have tried, I have LOVED. The service is...okay....
The rating would've been higher if it...

I was shocked to see that people hadn’t given better reviews for this place! I thought the burgers were delicious! Fresh toppings and very creative combinations! The sides were also very tasty – try the pickle spears... Oh, and they have the best darn milkshakes!!

On the recommendation of a coworker we decided to try a takeout lunch. Being somewhat of a food buff I had looked into the history of the place as soon as I found out about their opening last year. The Works in Oakville offers a wonderful selection of burgers and sides to suit the preferences of anyone.
I especially like that you can make specific requests for different types of meat , toppings and buns to suit your own tastes. I decided on the Sweet Ride burger with carmelized onions, cooked pear and brie cheese. It was without a...

I went to The Works which has just opened in Burlington. I loved the look of the place and it had plenty of unique ideas within the setting. However the burger was incredibly bland tasting fatty plus the overall execution of the burger was poor.
To add insult to injury, I was charged $85+ for a family of four. For...

Been to several locations and the Oakville location didn't disappoint.
Maybe a tad pricey but certainly not a daily place to eat anyway.
Dozens and dozens of burger options and countless sides and choices.
Excellent decor and even months after opening (might even be at or over the year mark now...still one of the freshest looking burger joints in Oakville....

A little summer escape with some great beers and great burgers! A little expensive but if this is a fun special outing you wont be disappointed!
The burgers are my favourite and they have some unusual items on their menu. They serve their meals in different ways which is refreshing and a nice change from the usual.
Liking a good burger every once in while (especially our home made burgers), we were anxious to try The Works' food. First of all, you need a GPS to navigate the menu. Way too may options in my opinion for a burger joint. Our server who must have been new to the place even had difficulty navigating the menu to... more
can this last? someone please compete with this overpriced burger joint! we deserve some competition, maybe it will force restaraunteurs to be more realistic
The marketing behind this restaurant is well done. It intrigued us and we walked in thinking we'd get a great burger with all the works. I must say, the service was average at best and the food was incredibly salty and somewhat bland. For $50 for 2 people I would have expected a lot more. Would not bother with this... more
The combinations that they've put together for their burgers are actually quite good. The burger options are nice; with turkey, hamburger, chicken and veggie. You can select your side preference also; coleslaw, chips (spicy), fries, sweet potato fries,.. The burgers long for a little flavour, but the toppings do make a big difference. We've gone a few times here, but... more
This was probably the worst burger I've ever had. There was no taste or flavour to it, because they "let the meat speak for itself" and choose not to season it (unfortunately the wait staff doesn't tell you this ahead of time). This isn't Kobe or Wagu beef burger meat, it tastes like it came from any old super market.... more
The choice of burgers is fantastic with many variations. It may take you some time to chose !!
It takes about 20 mins to serve your burger but it's worth the wait. The tower of onion rings is great.
With all due respect to the other posters, you will NOT get a "great" hamburger in the province of Ontario, as the Health Department will not permit them to prepare a hamburger that is anything less than well done. That being said, these folks have done wonderful things within those constraints, with some fabulous topping combinations.
We were there the...

The place is cool but the burger was disappointing. I've had a lot better and certainly a whole lot cheaper. I won't go back.
We went on a Saturday just before the dinner rush (5:30 or thereabouts). Table for four. Because we got their early we were seated within a minute of our arrival.
The waiter was very good at walking us through the various menu options, which to the uninitiated will seem incredibly daunting. Between the bun, patty, topping, and side selections there...

3 of us decided to go for beer and a burger at The Works. Website had all the different topping choices and wow do they have a lot. All three burgers were good but not great. They were tasty but a little on the dry side. If your burger comes with a fried egg, ask for it to be fried... more
We had lunch there as a combo Mothers/Fathers Day lunch. I wasn't impressed and won't go back.
