Good location, Avis right downstairs.
I spent one night here on a romantic weekend with my boyfriend. We indulged in the chocolate buffet which was delicious and also enjoyed the complimentary spa package in conjunction with Eveline Charles which was really fun and relaxing. The room itself was really fresh, clean and modern with a very comfortable king size bed. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you're staying in Edmonton.
Very comfortable location. Access to the shopping centre, restaurants. Really enjoyed pool, hot tub, sauna. Great customer service!
Stayed for one night, got a good rate from expedia. Yes, parking is expensive, but it is downtown. Had no major issues, room was clean, staff was good, but the pillows on our king bed were pretty flat, and there were no extras any where else in the room.
Hotel is in need of updating .. But clean and reasonably priced .. Valet parking expensive!! Look out for that. Got the rate from hotwire ... Glad I didn't have to pay full price. Front desk service friendly but slow. Only 1 person on desk at busy check in time.
I stayed a week and while it wasn't horrid, it certainly isn't five stars I have been in the Vancouver version and it is a far cry. Don't get me wrong, the people were friendly and that counts for a lot, but the hotel itself had issues. I had one night where water flooded from the pot lights in my... more
I stayed here for 8 nights in February, while on business. From the 22nd floor the view is great, unfortunately there's not much to see in very flat Edmonton. There is no business centre, but the front desk staff was very good at arranging meeting rooms, receiving envelopes, etc. There was a very basic continental breakfast (toast muffins) included in... more
Excellent value for money. Location next to YMCA gave cause for concern initially but this concern proved to be unfounded. Would recommend it .
The Sutton Place was terrific - from the friendly staff to the very clean and comfortable room. The pool was great - good hours, clean and private. Good security.
Front Desk service was friendly and helpful. Be warned that there is currently some renovation work going on in the lobby (they had the entire lobby ceiling torn apart while we were there). As well, some of the card-readers in the elevators needed to be repaired. The room itself was a decent size, clean, and well-kept. While I didn't make... more
We booked the hotel at a very reasonable cost through Priceline. The rooms are getting a bit tired looking however upgrades such as flat screen TV, very comfortable mattress and updated bathroom hold everything together. Very clean. Large window lets in lots of light and has a decent view (10th floor facing north). The quiet and unobtrusive HVAC was a... more
The hotel is getting a bit old, but is clean. I really like the marble vanity in the bathroom. The room was decent, but quite out of date. I stayed there because the company I work fors Edmonton office is accessible from the hotel indoors. The biggest disappointment was the complimentary breakfast that was included in the breakfast room. It... more
We actually booked this hotel through Hotwire.com. We got a good room rate, but Hotwire wasn't really clear that some of their hotels would have extra fees like parking (I think this is the first hotel I've stayed at where parking isn't included in the room rate)
Anyways, parking was over $25 per night, so factor that into the hotel...

Overall service and accommodations were good, however:
My wife and I valet parked early in the day and went to see the Nutcracker ballet in the evening. We took a cab to the ballet and back again. We didn't retrieve our car until the next day.

I was in town on business a couple weeks ago and was put up at the Sutton Place. It was conveniently located, the rooms were big and clean ( a little dated compared to the lobby) and it was an overall positive experience. Something must have been wrong with my heating though, I couldn’t get the room to cool down... more
Recently stayed here for a business trip - excellent location in the city. The hotel is very handy to some great restaurants! The rooms were comfortable (deluxe) & quiet. Hosts were friendly & helpful.
This hotel is conveniently located downtown. It is clean and, for the most part, comfortable. I was on a high floor and just could not get the temperature right. It was stifling in the room. In the morning I was in the lobby and noticed there was a continental breakfast. When I approached it I was stopped by a server... more
We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights last week while my husband attended a conference. It was an ok hotel. Nothing really wrong with it but my expectations for a Sutton Place Hotel were higher than just ok. The room was fine, except for the fact that the room had 2 DOUBLE beds. Who has double beds any more?... more
I understand renovations are coming this year and they are needed. While nothing serious, the décor is dated and scuffy. The food is limited in the one restaurant although the food was good. The location is good as part of the City Centre so a lot of indoor walking available, especially handy in the winter.
I stayed for 2 nights on business and booked a second hotel room for my girlfriends birthday. I requested almost 14 days prior to my stay that we could be in rooms close to one another. I understand hotels never guarantee these things but we ended up being 14 floors apart. This hotel is large and the request was made... more
This hotel is in a good location downtown, connected to shoping by skyways.
The room was large, we had two double beds. Having 2 pillows per bed would have been better.
The front desk was polite.
You park in a parkade, just tell the person that you are staying at the hotel. I paid 23 dollars for the night to...

I stayed in the Sutton Place Hotel last weekend, because for some reason I thought it would be a good idea to go to Edmonton when it was below minus 20 degrees. I never said I was smart.
First off, getting to the hotel was kinda annoying. It's just on the other side of taller buildings, so it's hard to...

Staff all very friendly and helpful. Check-in and checkout was fast and painless.
The hotel I'm sure was very nice at one point but it is showing its age. My room in particular smelled like a mix of perfume and old stale smoke. It was a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor. My clothes picked up the awful smell too....

I was coming to Edmonton to meet a new addition to the family. Booked on hot-wire, price was right so I booked. Free wifi which is a plus, could pay extra for higher speed.... more
I stayed at this hotel for a few nights. It has a very nice lobby. The rooms are nice but appear dated. The bed was very comfortable. The shower didn't get all that hot but that was okay. My biggest area of displeasure was the speed of Internet and how slow it was. I called to the front desk and... more
This was probably a nice hotel 40 yrs ago - but today it's just a run down Motel 6 inside the rooms. The carpets are filthy and old school tv which of course didn't work properly etc.
But the bed blanket was probably 45 yrs old - ratty with holes and 'pilled' etc. I wouldn't have let it touch my...

The Sutton Place is undergoing a restaurant renovation but overall, it feels like it needs a freshening up. Our first time staying here and we found it a clean quiet place to explore downtown Edmonton. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the area and the easiest ways to move about downtown. We were here to attend a CFL football game and found that the fastest and cheapest way to get to the stadium was the LRT station... more
Having read some of the other reviews before staying here, I was a bit nervous. However, whilst the bathroom could do with updating, it was clean, and the room was a good size with really comfortable beds. Best of all was the location, right in the downtown and connected to shopping and the LRT. I'll definitely stay here again.
The hotel is under construction but regardless, it was a great place to stay. Nicely location downtown. Room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. The Rose and Crown bar was great to have nearby to pop into.
I stayed at the Sutton Place for a convention in Edmonton the last week of September 2012. The hotel is not easy to find when driving, due to the street signage in the area. (If you aren't watching for it, you may miss it the first pass or two...)
At the time I visited, the main floor area was in...

Can't beat the downtown location of this hotel. Close to many restaurants, Commonwealth Stadium, Edmonton City Centre Mall (attached) and Grant MacEwan University. the hotel was undergoing some restaurant renovations, but other than that, the room was comfortable and in a good downtown location. I would stay again. I took the shuttle from the airport, saved $45 versus a taxi too.
For one they lost our reservation for two double beds. Since there were no rooms left with two double beds, their suggestion was a king and brought up a cot. Not ideal for two couples. Once we went to the room we found stains on the carpet and chair,of what we don't know. The bed sheets on the cot had... more

We got a special deal from Expedia, so took our chances and arrived at the Sutton Place Hotel. Recently stayed at the hotel after reading some online reviews. Hotel was average, and the pictures definitely made it look a lot better than what it actually was. Staff was amazing, and were able to meet all my requests. Room looked old, and looked like it was in need for some major TLC.
We recently stayed at the Sutton Place Edmonton and it is one of our favorite places to stay. It is nice and quiet. The room is extremely clean and the staff are excellent. The hotel location is great too.
I like this hotel. It is centrally located and the service is good. It is in the middle of renovations so there are good deals to be had here which will probably end when the renovations are completed. It is an older building so you can see that renovations are required but it also looks well-maintained & clean, not shabby.... more
First let me say that this Hotel was obviously a 3.5 star....circa 1992, the decor is now old, worn and completely outdated. Some renovations were underway, but it was to add a restaurant while nice, isn't what the place needs.

Very tired and shabby all over the hotel .... rooms in dire need of an update. Having said that, location is good and everything was clean. Certainly would not rate it at 3.5 stars in its current state.
Also, no remote control for the TV and it took 3 phone calls and 90 minutes to get one.
I have stayed at this hotel 4 times in the past two years. Everytime has been a good experience with staff. The rooms are nice and accomodating. One of the better hotels in Edmonton. Concierge was helpful in finding nearby restaurants and nightlife. The area is a little sketchy but a nice hotel overall.
This hotel is located in the heart of downtown Edmonton and within walking distance to many stores and restaurants. What a great hotel. It's a older classic hotel that has through major revocations, updates, and upgrades that give this hotel charm and character. Common area, nice stylish, and comfortable with great view.

Definitely in need of an update. The bathroom was pretty bad, shaky pipes and some descaling needed on shower head. Very old fixtures and housekeeping sure needs to improve, lots of hair left in bathroom. Yuk.
Did not enjoy anything about this hotel will never stay again! It wasn't the problem of Priceline it's Sutton hotel! Location of parking and cost along with no valet service out front! Under construction so restaurant was in a meeting room and food selection was awful!
Staff was great.\n\nParking was $23 and no guarantee of spot!\n\nGenerally nice.
This hotel was a great value for the money! Located in the heart of downtown, on a cool autumn day I didn't even need to put a jacket on to enjoy shopping in the core, as it's conveniently connected to the pedway system. Very well appointed, beds were great but the staff were a little surly.
We would recommond this hotel as an acceptable and fairly economical hotel in downtown Edmonton. It is not the place for a special occasion or vacation ( ie. not a resort or a destination property) but if one is just looking for a decent place to sleep, it was good value .
