Four Glorious Days

Loved the intimacy and cozy feel of hotel combined with modern facilities. Good restaurant although continental breakfast too pricey; dinner was good. Housekeeping staff was helpful, friendly, went out of their way to get us more tea, mints, etc. Good location near Empress, museums, harbor and all the wonderful shopping nearby.

Beautiful Hotel Downtown

Victoria is a beautiful city to visit. We travel there several times a year and always stay at The Magnolia.

Another amazing stay at the Magnolia - my third, and I can't say enough good about this place. I casually mentioned it was my lady's birthday, and they had chocolates waiting for her in the room with a birthday card. The turn-down service each night is a warm touch. Every single staff member, including the maid service, is warm and genuine.

We were in a Platinum room and had lovely views of the inner harbor and Parliament House.

The room was spacious and decorated in a very chic design. There was complimentary fruit, chocolates and water. Plus we loved the Keurig.

This is the perfect hotel. Bed is very comfy. Sitting area overlooking the harbor. All the little details you'd expect of a great place. Thick towels, robes with slippers, shower that puts out a ton of water, I could go on. Each room had its own wifi router. I will definitely stay here again.

I traveled to this hotel on business and it was really clean and beautiful! The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and it was quiet making for some great sleeps.

My only negative comment is that I think that that continental breakfast starting at 8am was a little late. Other than that I was a great experience and I will return.

An excellent hotel where, on this occasion, we found maintenance issues not previously encountered e.g .plumbing in the bathroom, dead telephone, safe that wouldn't open. These were addressed but not until the next day when specialized staff were available. The hotel compensated us generously for these difficulties.

Magnolia is the best bargin in downtown Victoria. We have stayed multiple times and during different seasons. The staff and service is always excellent. We have stayed at other locations in and around downtown. Magnolia is the standard to beat.

I use to travel a lot in all my life but, let me tell you; this Htl., is the best one i ever stayed, The ordinary Htls things(clean, etc.)? But in others(and unique)spects? Very Pampered

My mother-in-law and I stayed here for a spa/shopping weekend and we were wonderfully taken care of. The rooms were clean and very tastefully decorated and the staff went out of their way to ensure our comfort! Everyone who helped us was very professional and courteous. Beautiful, quiet hotel

We stayed at the Magnolia for 5 nights. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet, and the service was excellent. Our room had a fireplace and a harbor view through a huge window. Breakfast, whether the full breakfast or continental, was very good. If we ever visit Victoria again, this is where we would stay.

Victoria get-away

Very pleasant hotel within steps of the shopping district, good restaurants/pubs and the picturesque harbour area. Friendly staff and light, bright room. Liked the caraffe of water in the room at arrival, but disappointed that the caraffe was not refilled on subsequent days of our stay.

The views from the room are wonderful. The staff very helpful.The rooms are exceptionally well furnished. They are spotlessly clean. The bed and linens were very good. The food is excellent. It is the perfect hotel. You could not ask for a better place to stay while in Victoria.

Posh room, top level service, stayed for 3 nights. Great breakfast. Parked on street each day without trouble as it is free after 6 PM. Very central location, close to everything downtown. Had a pleasant walk to office each day.

Why? Because I really liked my comfortable bed, the fireplace and the soaker bath. All staff cared and provided excellent, thoughtful service; the food was tasty and the coffee was fresh and hot!! A great stay.

Stayed here a while back, I assume its still the same standard now. Nice rooms, pleasant staff. The breakfast was OK but the American tourists ate everything in sight and I always seemed to arrive when there was nothing left to eat. Despite that I would definitely stay here again.

Close to harbour for the business traveller

The Magnolia is like a mini-Empress Hotel - in that it is a historic building, but the rooms are much, much nicer.

Pay the up charge for a Diamond level room. It's worth the price difference. The complimentary breakfast is a nice touch as are the bottle of water, chocolates, and fruit (an apple in my case) when you first enter your room. The room was clean, "refreshing" and well furnished. While I didn't use the soaker tub, it looks quite pleasant. Staff are friendly and helpful. I'd go back.

The room I had was a standard room on their 3rd floor with a single queen beb. Ample space in the rooms and great service. Free continental BF. Fantastic hotel!

Came here for a weekend getaway with fantastic accommodations in their "Diamond level" corner room. The room had a view to the harbor, plenty of windows, a comfortable king size bed and a gas fireplace. Everything was perfect.

The down sides: Check in wasn't great as we didn't get the sized bed we asked for when we made reservations. Room was smaller than I anticipated and the bathroom was disappointing for size as well. Stayed here on our weekend trip to Victoria. the hotel has a great location downtown. It's close to all the shops and the wharf. About a 10 minute walk to the Clipper terminal.

The staff was very friendly and helpful with food and tourist spots.

The continental breakfast and room service was a plus. they also have nightly turn down service with chocolates on the pillow.

Just what they claim to be, "unbeatable location and good service." From the time we arrived we felt at home. Smiles, service and helpful. It had great views, clean rooms and a great restaurant. Try the clams and mussels appetizer, WOW! Next to everything you want to do in the area. Thank you yelpers for helping us find the best hotel in the inner harbor.

Really liked this hotel in the heart of Victoria. People were friendly, room was clean and comfortable. I had the pleasure of staying at the Magnolia this week. It's a gorgeous hotel, right in the centre of Victoria. Very good service, as you'd expect for a boutique hotel. My room was beautiful -- corner suite, fireplace, soaker tub, and all overlooking the Legislature building.

Yes, I would recommend this hotel. It has very traditional and slightly staid decor. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We arrived a little before check in time, but that was no issue. They do require that you use valet parking.

“Excellent hotel, staff was very courteous, always smiling and helpful. They offered activities and sites to see for the day. I had made the wrong dates for reservations, they said not to worry, gave us an upgrade and helped me get through an embarrassing situation. All in all, this was the highlight of our hotel stays while traveling on the west coast, we are from Florida.”

“This Holiday Inn is an adequate hotel for a business traveler to Victoria. Nothing elaborate and a very ho-hum restaurant. It would not be a good choice for vacationers. It is quite far from the attractions in Downtown. Be wary of the "on premise laundry facilities". There is one washer and one dryer for 200+ rooms.”

First rate classy hotel

If you want to be downtown and have access to all amenities of Victoria this is the hotel for you. The Magnolia Hotel is top drawer. I stay at hotel's often for business. This hotel exceeded all expectations, comfortable classic furnishings, top of line bedding. Clean and comfortable and a gracious staff. Can't be beat for comfort and quality.
