My father in-law decided to treat us to a dinner out for thanksgiving, so I'm thinking all right; someone is taking us out for dinner and they are paying...
So we get here and he announced he organized that we all had our choice of turkey, turkey or turkey.
He had arranged a group meal as it turned out. Ha!
So, we handed back the menus and all ordered the turkey.
Well, when it came wow talk...

The Grill features greasy spoon comfort food at a high calibre. You do get the sense that the manager really cares and the service and quality reflects this.
Very good food and always happy staff to greet you . Good place to being family or groups . The bacon and eggs breakfast is my favourite here
I started to come here around 2011. I am impressed with the extremely friendly service. The food is good and consistent. I like the sundae dessert and they seem to have a chocolate mint cake that is always sold out. Took me like 3 years actually to get 1 slice. It was rich and minty.
At one point I have tried 90% of the menu and most of the items are fantastic. I love the ribs and pasta combo,...

I've been hear a few times with my boyfriend and this place never disappoints me. I always get the Cajun Lime Chicken Penne and time and time again they always make it to perfection. From the Caesar salad that comes with it down to the penne everything is ALWAYS made fresh.
The service is also impeccable. It's a neighborhood restaurant and so there are always people dining inside, no matter...

Decent service, good food and lots of it for the money is what you get here. For some reason, it's never on the top of the list of places to go for us, but when we have gone, we have never been disappointed.
Hit or miss with the service but the food is usually good. I would recommend this place if you want decent food, don't care about ambiance and service. Needs a major renovation that's for sure!
Salty salt salt. Salt salt salt.
Tasty typical breakfast fare. Lots of options and a good pleasant place for a get together. But be prepared to suck back a gallon of water through the day due to the increased salt intake.
It's huge inside - hard to imagine that they can fill the tables! But I hope this "little" independent establishment keeps on trucking.
A simple family restaurant along the line of ABC or the pantry, but better in my opinion.
I'll start with the food. Good selection of the usual stuff with a few more ethnic choices (like butter chicken). Really good specials like the Friday ribs deal (worth making the trip) where you get a full rack for the price of a half rack. The food is what you pay for essentially, simple but satisfying.

Simple review. They are awesome for everything and in every way. Great extensive menu.
Yummy Ribs!!
Unexpected visit to Coquitlam Grill and we are glad we came. I work in Coquitlam, not really the greatest options for dinning. I had Coquitlam grill booked marked because several of my yelpy friends had recommended this place. After finishing a long day at work, last thing I wanted to do was cook, my husband mentioned he wanted ribs, hmm I remember reading about this place and...

love this place, always great staff and yummy food the breakfast is especially good
Quick to refill coffee - maybe too quick I found out this morning because I drank way too much this am! Try the eggs Benedict's they're all pretty good - today I tried the fully loaded and it was good.
Kids shared the Belgium waffle and they split it for us.
Great for groups - large booths. Family of 6...

Recently, I introduced members of my family to Coquitlam Grill and was pleased that they enjoy it as much as I do. One of the things that has frustrated me about many restaurants is their pretentiousness. When I go to a restaurant, I want relatively plain food that is tasty; I hope for sufficient quantity to feel that I have... more
My husband and I went there with a group of friends. We ordered the Calamari appetizer to share and it was very good. One of the best I have tasted (reason why I gave 3 stars). I had the Garden Burger with fries. I realized when the orders came that I could have substituted yam fries, which I prefer. I... more
Been in the past. I usually enjoy the breakfast menu. This past Sunday I went and expected to wait. However, myself and a host of others stood at the entrance for at least 5 minutes without any acknowledgement from staff. Not a single "I'll be right with you." So after 5 minutes without a word from any of the staff,... more
This restaurant has an enormous menu, fast coffee, attentive service, and something for everybody. It reminds me of no-frills, cater-to-everybody 1970s restaurants. When we went for lunch on a weekday it was crowded with people of all ages. We all enjoyed our meal and the prices were very reasonable. Seems like a winner.
I'm not sure what's going on the Coquitlam Grill these days. My boyfriend and I have eaten breakfast there quite regularly, on the weekends. The service is usually good and the food tastes fresh and hot.
However, this past Sunday, we went there for breakfast and we were both disappointed.
Our server, was not nearly attentive as usual.
I had...

We go to the Coco Grill frequently for lunch or dunner on Sundays and on many other occasions as well. Many of our friends do the same as well since it is such friendly and reliable place to go. Most recently we took our 4 visiting guests from Alberta for late lunch last Sunday. First seating was "too" cold for... more
Really a White Spot clone in terms of ambiance and decor. Lots of menu items and prices reasonable. Clearly lots of locals patronize the Grill. Can't go wrong here for sit-down service.
Have eaten here a few times so can vouch for the consistency and reliability of the food. The menu is extensive - and I mean extensive - so you can expect to take a while to read through it. On our most recent visit I had a baked tortellino alfredo ($13.99). It was creamy, did not reek of garlic and... more
Two of us went to the grill at lunch time. The eatery has an all day breakfast menu, a senior menu , a regular menu and luncheon specials. My mother opted for the all day breakfast menu. Her egg was exactly as she asked with a good supply of tasty bacon. She requested tomatoes instead of potatoes with no problem.... more
Good Breakfast fare a ta reasonable price. Waits to be seated are not too long - note there is a church across the street and I'm sure folks come over after services - so it can be busy on certain days. Waits to be served or orders to arrive are a little slow when busy.
Food is good quality and so are the portions.
We come back every other week.
Nice place to go for a Sunday brunch, or any meal for that matter. Spacious, friendly and above average food for the price.
Lunch on Sunday - this restaurant is a family type place that is always busy and always reliable. It has an extensive menue and I've tried many things and everything has been good. The prices are reasonable and the service decent. Sometimes it takes a bit to get your food but as I said they are always busy.
This time...

You can't get much better than the Coquitlam Grill for a family restaurant. Service is usually good, food presented hot and in sensible quantity and reasonable pricing. Food isn't outstanding but for a good value meal, you can't go wrong.
Came here again after Diana L. kept raving about their Friday night special. $15 for a full rack of ribs? Oh hello.
The dish itself is mostly decent. The ribs are beautiful. Meat just peels right off. Garlic bread is more the "bread" type than the "baguette" style, but are decent. The one thing that's a bit off? The spaghetti. Tastes like it came from a can. But hey, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

Holiday, everything was closed but we felt like having a late breakfast...I surfed on the web for brunch places in the Coquitlam area and not many came up. Finally I found some reviews for a place called "The Coquitlam Grill". I was really debating myself whether a place with that name would have breakfast or brunch. We headed that way to find this place at a plaza. We walked in and it was... more
Popular with Seniors, and Clubs who know value when they find it. Always busy, great service, and tasty food that won't crush the wallet
Popular on Saturday Breakfast with the Vintage Car Clubs, the parking lot is a Car Show on Summer Saturday mornings.
This is my go to for comfort food or a hearty breakfast. I love this place! The food here is very consistent, the staff are awesome and overall, I really enjoy visiting the Grill.
The Coquitlam Grill has great daily specials, one of my favourites being the half rack of ribs and lasagna. This is the most generous portion and its regular price is only $14.99.
They also have gigantic breakfasts,...

Staying in a B&B in Port Moody on the outskirts of Vancouver we found the Coquitlam Grill via Tripadvisor. It was a good choice for lunch with the feel and menu choices of a diner. The batter on my fish and chips was crisp and tasty and the cod not overcooked. Loved the large cut french fries and the home... more
Pretty good breakfast joint here. Menu is extensive and everything looks fresh and tasty.
I don't know who or what group is always meeting in the back room but they are there every time I go here???? Maybe top secret breakfast club...how do I join?
Staff here a really great. Speedy with taking orders and keeps the coffee flowing.
Great spot breakfast...bring your appetite!
I still love this place. I just went back again recently and had their chicken fried steak. It was delectable! The gravy was so savoury and yummy. I loved their mashed potatoes and stuffing, too. After you eat this, be sure to stop of at Club 16; you'll need it.
I have been to this restaurant on several occasions, both for business and pleasure. The restaurant is an older one, however what I like about it is it can be full but it's not very noisy like many of the open air restaurants where you cannot hear your party because of all the other tables chatter. The food is like... more
Before I started being a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant I had never been here! About once a month my director has a Girls Night Out Dinner and Makeover here for us consultants and clients. It seems like a bizarre place to have it but it works. We get the back room and are treated VERY well.
It's not the best looking place but the food and service are very good! The atmosphere is relaxed although...

Good Sunday brunch at a very reasonable price - it has turned out to be our regular haunt on Sundays! Often my buddies and I meet and discuss our community service projects!
We have only eaten there for breakfast and it a good meal.
Place to go esp if you goto coquitlam center or to port moody park etc. Plenty of parking too. And you wonder why I gave it a 3 star so here goes...
We were seated promptly and order for beer for me came pretty fast-beer was chilled and so were the appetizers (sweet potato fries and calamari). Both appys were good but our server forgot to bring th plates for the appys so we waited about 5...

I've been here for brunch many times - highly recommend the French breakfast
Only one word can describe the food, and that's "wow". I had the southern fried country chicken dinner. Best cauliflower ever...I can't believe I just said that.
The food comes out quickly and steaming hot. The staff is very friendly and like I saw someone else say, the menu has lots of items on it to choose from. All the items are fairly priced and the portions are on the large side.

This place needs a cosmetic makeover!!
HOWEVER....
The staff were amazing! Very tentative and hilarious.
The menu was huge, which kinda scared me =/
But I ended up ordering the baked chicken with broccoli and cheese. on a bed of stuffing and rice on the side. My boyfriend ordered a clubhouse. The meals came fast, and were pleasantly delicious. My only complaint was that the stuffing was a...

This is one of our favourite restaurants in the area., not fine dining but good hearty food. The breakfast menu is fairly extensive with even a selection of different eggs benedicts. My partner and I went with the lighter breakfast though - crispy bacon, hash browns (either shredded or cubed), 2 eggs however you like them and toast. More than... more
Was in the area last weekend and did a quick yelp search to see what was in the area for brunch. Choose the Coquitlam Grill knowing it was a place we hadn't tried before. It was not to shabby and you get what you pay for. I am always drawn to french toast in these family style restaurants and I was not dissapointed. My french toast was delish. I will be back the next time I have a french toast... more
Good quality food, home-y diner feel
It's a wee bit dark in there and I wish they'd do something with their interior/decor but the food is good and cheap and the staff are friendly :)
Food takes a long time to come out though.. You can tell it was just cooked but not all of us who eat there are seniors with lots of time to burn
Just wanted to write an update review, they've really improved the atmosphere of the place. Everything seems like it's been replaced and it has a real classy feel to it now. Here's a tip, save room for dessert. They probably have one of the best strawberry cheesecakes i've ever had. 3.99 a slice, take that KEG (6.99 cheese cake slivers).
After 15 years living in the neighborhood, we decided to go in here for breakfast one weekend. Always looked like a "truck stop" joint from the outside. Boy was our perception wrong! Its a large, cosy family grill similar to a White Spot. Prices are very reasonable, and breakfast was home-style with a lot of choices. If you don't feel like cooking breakfast/brunch - come here!
