“Your Home Away From Home”Conveniently Located Uptownwww.thecitymotel.com
The hotel was booked for a party and they told us we were not supposed to be given a room. We had to listen to the most foul language you ever heard in the halls until 2:00 A.M. VERY VERY DISAPOINTTING
We used this hotel as a one night stop driving to PEI.
Stayed for 4 nights here recently and had a great experience. The restaurant in the hotel has delicious cheap food and the staff are amazing there. Would stay here again!
The motel is old and noisy. You can hear people walking and talking. The was a dead fly on floor of bathroom. You get what you pay for.
Stayed her on July 2, and July3rd 2014. Last time I stayed here was in the early 90's. It was clean comfortable and handy when I last stayed.
This time the Motel was tired, smelly and my room was very dirty. I was checked in by a young man wearing an undershirt, very unprofessional.
The carpet in the room was...

This hotel is dated, dirty and smells of cigarette smoke. I don't recommend anyone stay here!
The room was nice and very clean. The lobby and walk to the room smelled very musty.
Check in was a breeze, we landed in Fredericton before lunch, and were able to check in, which is nice, i love that. Upon entering, we thought it was very cute and different. The room was clean, but very dated, the floors are a little uneven, especially the sleeping area, of the Queen Room. A bit of a musty smell,... more
Had a night here with family and friends. The rooms were great, clean, spacious yet homey. Reasonable breakfast and good location. Good wifi. Loved the quilts on the bed.gave a nice warm touch. Nice staff. Would return.
I tried this motel as I had a meeting early the next day close by. This place is fantastic !!! The rooms are great and really bright. And the price is very reasonable compared to the other hotels in the area. I found the staff really friendly too. I even met the owner who welcomed me personally.........you don't see that... more
A friend and myself recently visited this property for 1 night while in town for a concert. We decided to book last minute and found that City Motel was offering fairly low rates for a day-of arrival. I was pleasantly surprised by how well-kept the motel was for the price-range, however I was not aware that I was going to... more
A motel is a motel right? I never imagined one could actually be described as "fun," but the City Motel certainly fits the bill.
From the outer appearance, to the vast collection of sea shells in the lobby, to the stuffed shark hanging over the reception desk, I can guarantee you've never stayed in a motel quite like this!
The best part about City Motel is the theme rooms they have available to...

Conveniently located uptown, it's within a short walking distance of the Fredericton Mall, the Regent Mall (where there's also a cinema), a NB Liquor store, the Fredericton Inn, a Boston Pizza and a Dairy Queen.
It is also the hotel the closest to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital.
The owner does a tasteful job of decorating around the motel to suit the time of year.
For those who haven't...

I have stayed at the City Motel with my family back ages ago and we always had a really positive experience there. Today was the first time I've stayed there in over ten years, but returning to this hotel was wonderful.
If you're looking for a super posh hotel, the City Motel isn't that. It is very homey and welcoming...

Stayed here in August .The lady on the front desk was very friendly and willing to help us with our questions. When we went to our room we could smell stale cigarette smoke. Got into the room, at first glance I spotted a condom wrapper on the floor.I wanted to report this but my husband said were only here one night... more
Located just off the highway we choose the place to crash after a long drive east. The place sits at a major intersection and is close to malls, highways and lots of chain style restaurants and fast food. Really just a place to crash for one night.
The service was pleasant and they have tried to gussy up a dated...

I was there for a wedding this past weekend. The staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly. The rooms are comfortable. The restaurant was great as well. I loved the lobster roll. A great spot in Fredericton.
We stayed for a week at the beginning of April 2013, we had 2 rooms. Check in was great and the lady was very friendly, we were given rooms across the hall from each other which was fantastic, I was disappointed to begin with because I had specifically asked for a suite that had a door seperating the bedroom from... more
The City Motel is like going home .The friendly staff could not have been more helpful .Our room was spacious and very clean .The restaurant ,newly opened I understand last summer ,The Hillside Grill offered us an excellent menu and unbelievable value. We had a great homestyle meal ,Roast Turkey and Liver & Onions and followed by a wonderful dessert,Chocolate... more
We stayed here for 8 nights in July 2012. The new management were so friendly and accomidating. They were so sweet to my 5 year old son. They always had crayons and coloring pages for him. The rooms and furniture were outdated but everything was clean. There was always complimentary coffee in the lobby and they offered toast in the... more
I was appalled by the negative reviews. We have stayed at City Motel twice in the last two weeks due to hospital visits. The room was very clean and well looked after.the staff was exceptional and went out of their way to make the visit as calm and accomadating as possible. The girls on the front desk were very nice... more
The room wasn't that clean, it smelled like stale smoke, the wi-fi didn't work, and the toilet didn't flush. I don't expect all that much, but for $100 I want the toilet to work. I really don't recommend this place.
Please, do yourselves a favor. Don't go to this hotel. We made the mistake of staying here for the Best Western in town was all booked. The hotel room seemed okay upon first appearences but the more we looked the worse it got. Booked a smoke free room and it smelled like stale smoke anyway. I believe the smoke has... more
Terrible room, not that clean, well used, smelt, full of junk furniture, over $100 per night;
no breakfast, downstairs smelt too, looks like they went to an aution and rounded up
all the old furniture they could find. Could not wait to leave. Worst place in all our trip, need
to refurbish, clean well, paint and deoderize, buy new furniture...

Hi,
went to this hotel with my husband and parrot. The receptionist was real nice. She gave us the best room, well you have to do your best with what you got.. right. The owner needs to start buying some matresses. The matress was so old, that my husband was on me all night. The air conditioner was so loud...

Stayed 5 nights and found the room clean and comfortable with free internet and mini fridge. Appreciated the 24 hour free tea/coffee in the lobby. When we arrived we were informed that they were having a special and so the price of our room had dropped $14 a night! That never happened before. The staff were friendly. They provide a... more
After reading all the great reviews we were a bit disappointed.
On the positive side the rooms were clean and spacious and the beds comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful.
On the down side the lobby and hallways were a bit tired and dingy and did not give a good first impression. It also seems that the motel has...

Stayed here three nights in February. For the price this place can't be beat. The room decor is a bit dated, but everything was clean and functioning in the room. The bed was comfortable, the room spacious and with a mini fridge. There is free wireless. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located very near to the... more
The hotel is very convenient to the University of New Brunswick and St Thomas University, since it is a short downhill walk to the campuses. The staff were friendly and the rooms are very spacious.
Totally enjoyed our stay there - staff was extemely friendly and the free 'make your own' breakfast was awesome! Was able to shower, wash my hair - then have a leisurely breakfast wearing a beach coverup (or something simliar) - also had free wireless internet in our room - and there is a computer with intenet access in the lobby.... more
The hotel was not up to expectations. The wireless internet did not work on either of 2 computers and the exercise room had cheap equipment that was out of order. The room itself was better than would have been expected from the hallways which were very well worn. Note that there is no elevator, so if carrying bags up stairs is a problem, you may want to avoid.
Nice hotel, reasonably priced and in a great location. Has a good restaurant attached which I also recommend. Would definetly stay there again.
We spent a short week in Fredericton while we got our child settled into residence for the first year at UNB. It's not a fancy place, but it is the best deal near UNB. Especially good if you don't have a vehicle with you. We were able to walk downhill to UNB, but did bus it back up to the hotel. The shopping malls on both Prospect and Regent streets are well within walking range along with... more
This is the kind of motel that generally caters to truckers or low-rent business travellers. It's on the edge of town, near malls. UNB is about a 15-minute walk, downtown about 35-40 mins. It's probably better if you have a car. The rooms are a little tired, with big sturdy furniture, but surprisingly comfortable beds. The overall vibe is like if your grandmother ran a truck stop. The attached... more
Our "theme" room was "seashells" including actual shells, pictures and books. Someone went to a lot of trouble - it was a bit quaint but reasonably pleasant. Room was clean, breakfast in the restuarant good, bit of traffic noise from nearby streets. Not really walkable to downtown - bit long with a big hill on the way back. But, reasonable... more
An old motel without elevator. Can only access thru front desk. Internet was not working.
If you are just looking for a place to sleep ,perhaps a drink or two in your room before an event, then this is a great place. The decor is a little dated, but the room was clean and came with a mini fridge and coffee maker and wireless high speed.
My only complaint would be that the room had...

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel, the service people at the front desk were very freindly upon arrival, we had been driving in the car for 13 hours or so and we arrived there a few hours before check in time but they let us go into our room right away which was very nice. The rooms are dated but clean, so if you are like us and wish to spend your money on great food while on vacation, then this... more
The motel was older and showed signs of wear, but the be was comfortable and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly.
Hotel was easy to find right off of the highway. We found the hotel to be a good value for the Money Room was clean, but chairs in the room need to be replaced, not very comfy.
The City Motel was perfect for our stay in Fredericton! The price was good, the breakfasts at Hannah's were excellent, and the location was perfect for our access to our family reunion. I was thrilled that they gave all guests access (at no charge) to the computer in the lobby: I could download the photos from my camera onto my memory stick and write emails to those back home who couldn't... more
This was our first trip to Fredericton. The City Motel is in a great location, close to a mall and eating establishments and UNB. We had no problem getting around the city. It was not at all noisy in the motel or even outside. The room was very comfortable and roomy.
Noisy motel beside a busy road. Far away from the downtown.
The rooms were not bad, but the whole hotel smelled musty, especially the hallways and staircases. They need to take up the carpet or do something.
We read the great reviews of this hotel and decided to try it. Unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing experience. We did not receive a theme room as expected and the room we did get faced a very busy, noisy road. The air conditioner was also noisy, not to mention the garbage truck under the window very early in the... more
We have stayed at the City Motel 4 times so far,and on our future trips to Fredericton will stay again .The motel is located in a very good area close to everything you will need while staying in Fredericton. There are 2 shopping centres within walking distance of the motel as well as resturants. The staff at the motel are very friendly and willing to help with anything you may need.
We stopped in Fredericton on our way out to P.E.I., and I had researched hotels/motels in advance. You won't get a better stay for the value. Reasonably priced, the City Motel offered extremely friendly service, and a variety of theme rooms at no extra charge. My wife and I stayed in The Safari Room, since The Austin Powers Room was... more
The City Motel is not your average budget accommodations. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, with friendly service and touches that set it apart from other motels I've stayed in. I travel all the time with my job. What a pleasant surprise when I was booked into City Motel. The people are charming and the rooms are to die for. I stayed in the African theme room and it was very tastefully decorated and spacious. Recommend this motel to all travelers.
Also the restaurant was excellent.
Loved it. They have "theme" rooms that are to die for! Everything from the Austin Powers room to the Royal Suite. What a great place! Congrats to management and crew.
The service was amazing, the rooms superb, the price perfect. couldn't ask for a better place to stay. Themed rooms to every taste and beautifully decorated suites, I will return time and again and refer you to all my incoming friends and relatives who need a place to stay.
Superb!!! Way to go guys at the City Hotel!!! I had a spectatular time in Fredicton- thanks to you!! From my checkin to my FABULOUS lobster dinner- the City Hotel looked after my every need and impressed me beyond any expectation! Although the City Motel seems a bit tacky from the outside (it tends to be over-decorated for every holiday) it's actually quite nice inside.
