Bouffe ordinaire
We really enjoyed our meal at Thaï Grill. Very tasty and fresh. The décoration of the restaurant could be fresh en up à bit but it did not diminish our pleasure.
We stopped there because it was close to our final destination where we had a show at 7:00 p.m. The server suggested we take the 'tasting" menu for 2 as it would be quicker than à la carte. Explanations on the tasting menu were not very clear, so we didn't much know what to expect. It turned out to be... plus
New cook? New staff?
Somethings wrong. The padthai was mediocre. We returned the calamari starter because it was not fresh and very rubery. It used to be an decent retaurant. What happend?
Staying in old montreal but had the metra pass and wanted to go somewhere outside the old quarter and have food that was not french bistro. Thai sounded good, this restaurant was beautifully appointed decor but really nothing in the taste department. Very slow service for not very busy place. Have had better Thai in the suburbs at home.
Was recommended by a work associated - restaurant has a great decor. Had the tom yum kun soup for a app was suppose to be spicy but not to expectation -luv spice but not as advertised. Had the neu song kuran for dinner was very good -nice spice and flavour. Not sure if I would return for the price and... plus
Absolutely horrid. The service had to be hunted down to take any order, the food was incredibly slow coming out of the kitchen. At least one hour from setting down until two entrées. believe the waitress forgot about it because as soon as I flagged down another server it came out immediately.
The food was bland and poorly cooked. We had the pad see-ew and Thai basil chicken. The basil chicken...

Was happy with the meal there recently especially the starters and drinks. The truly traditional Thai dishes of chicken and shrimp were also good but the larger and more expensive meals like salmon and scallops were not exceptional. Excellent and attentive service.
Very good food. We were only diners on a Thurs eve. Initially thought to be a bad sign but we were pleasantly surprised. Appetizer sampler a good opening choice. Sticky rice was special. Peanut chicken was a favorite. Desserts were really great. Chocolate special was superb.
Service was courteous and rapide...however on the 30aug 2013 at lunch ....out of party of 4 people , 2 got sick shortly after leaving the restaurant and the other 2 didnt feel too good.
i went back to let them know...didnt even get as much as a IM SORRY....
chicken was undercooked and shrimps had a funny aftertaste...

Wow amazing ... This is truly an amazing restaurant with great decor, tasty food and friendly service. A must visits for any foodie
on a sunny Sunday evening, my two sons and i wanted to savour something different. They have been bothering me on going to a Thai restaurant for a while. I had the Thai Grill in mind and let me tell you, all three of us were not disappointed. Their first experience with Thai and they hit a jackpot. The service,... plus
All the food was terrific. I've eaten here several times and highly recommend it. Do go downstairs to the washroom of this gorgeous Eastern-designed resto.
I had heard a lot about this restaurant, so we finally decided to order in. What a disappointment ... as I think they dropped the salt shacker in the bowl..... We had the crispy chicken with cashews and beef ginger ...but were unable to finish our plates. Maybe the other courses are good but I will never know
The food was very good and ingredients were fresh. Service was good but a bit slow. I thought it was overpriced - an easy 100$ for two entrees and a main course, without drinks.
Excellent food And ambiance at reasonable price. Everything is great.
A friend and I were searching up and down St.Laurent (and had gotten more then peckish) for a good place to eat, and stumbled upon the Thai Grill. It had a good over all menu, and the food was tasty- but the noteable thing was the deco. It had a great atmosphere, even though it was rather busy, we were... plus
but not as much choice as Chao phraya.
At least there is a bar to wait when you have to wait to get your table ready. Real ambiance of Thailand
We visited the restaurant as a couple on a Saturday night.
We’d had our eye on this place for a while, and with Lesley Chesterman’s recent positive review, we figured it was time to try it out.
The food was OK, but overall, we were very disappointed with our dining experience.
We had made a reservation, asking for a good...

Went on Saturday night at 8:30pm...it was the only restaurant where I could get a last minute reservation. The place was empty...and we soon found out why. I was suprised, as this used to be one of our favorite restaurants.
1) Menu - it has changed. It's printed on cheap "deli-style" paper now. Much less interesting choices.
2) Food -...

We went here with our kids, 5-yr & 8-yr. No kids menu was offered to us but the staff was amazing with the kids. The decor is great and the food awesome. Bill came to more than I expected for Thai but it was worth it. Not you typical Thai restaurant.
Food and ambiance is great. The waitress are very cute and nice too.
Excellent lunch menu. Most selections are delicious.. and they give you just the right amount so that you’re not too full afterwards and but satisfied to last you until supper. My favorite was the Thai fried rice lunch option.
Each lunch option comes with a small appetizer and fresh fruit dessert.
Decor and ambiance is very nice; it’s a clean and classy restaurant.
More expensive in evening
I go to Thai Grill every time I come to Montreal and have been doing so for a number of years. I have always loved the ambiance of the restaurant and, visiting the restaurant in August 2009, I thought the restaurant was particulary attractive. I love the line-up of Buddhas as you walk in the foyer. The lighting is lovely.... plus
pretty good food, slightly overpriced..
Delicious, but sorely overpriced. Ethnic food in Montreal does come with a premium.
It was our first visit to that restaurant. Food was really good but quite of expensive of what we had in our plate. But the worst, was the time we had to wait 30 minutes for the first plate, another 35 minutes for the soup, and the next one 40 minutes, this is ridiculous, to wait so long for a meal. You'll understand that we didn't want to take the dessert.... and with no wine...85$ for 2... plus
First time I went a few years ago, it was excellent, but last time I went, the quality wasn`t there at all anymore, but the price was still there thought... plus
Beautiful decor..great food!
Great food. Good atmosphere and decor, good service. Too expensive.
Rated only 3 stars for high prices, but the food is good.
Used to be great... but the prices have gone up and the quality and originality have gone down... still a very good Thaï restaurant though
Seems to be getting better. Nice vibe in here. It bottomed out a few years back and ever since then it's been on a constant improvement.
For the same price, there are better Thai restos in Montreal.
An elegant setting for delicious food. Large West facing windows are thrown open in good weather. The tables are covered with white tablecloths and each place setting has a black bamboo placemat. On the wall hang many Thai woodcarvings and other Thai objects. The ceiling had an interesting coving to create what looked like rays of sun. There was a bar area in the front part of the restaurant... plus
The atmosphere comfortable, and the decoration is impressive. Besides that, the food is mediocre and expensive. Not worth the money.
Classic menu of curries & grilled specialities, plus cocktails, in a moody, Buddha-filled interior.
One of Montreal's current hot-spots is Thai Grill, an exotic oasis. While the menu features Thai standards with a few surprises, most male visitors will remember their waitress more than their meal. You can also come here to enjoy a drink or two. Make sure you call ahead for reservations.
