This is one of the most advanced science centers in the world. Its wonders include an IMAX theater (tel. 780/493-4250), the largest planetarium theater in Canada, high-tech exhibits (including a virtual-reality showcase and a display on robotics), and an observatory open on clear afternoons and evenings. Exhibits include a journey through the human body (including the Gallery of the Gross!) and... more

Time for an overhaul
May 28, 2014

On May long weekend I took my 4 children to the Telus World of Science. We have been a couple times in 10 years. My kids had fun, but from a parents point of view its time for an overhaul on all the exhibits. I found floors and walls very dirty, and worn out. They've had the same exhibits for... more

Our daughter didn't want to leave!
We visited between special exhibits, but there was more than enough fun to be had. We were visiting from Calgary and used our science centre card from there via the reciprocal agreement, so didn't have to pay for entry.

Amazing taste of the magic of Harry Potter. Busy but because of the ticket times not too crazy. The making of a Monster exhibit was interesting as well

April 18, 2014

I came to this place a bunch as a child and haven't been back much as an adult, but I just went recently to see an IMAX and the venue has only gotten better. They always offer 3-5 IMAXs on varying topics and all of them are enlightening. We saw the Lemurs IMAX and I only wish that it was... more

A great experience but expensive
April 16, 2014

The Telus World of Science (or TWOS as it`s referred to in some publications) is a unique venue in Edmonton. It serves as an all things science exhibition that rotates special feature events through on a regular basis. In the last few years I've seen both of the Body Works exhibits, the Star Wars exhibit, and passed on the Harry... more

Interesting but expensive
April 14, 2014

Our preschooler grandkids really enjoy parts of the World of Science. They like the discovery play area the best but also enjoy the exhibit about the body. It is rather expensive to take them for a few hours and have to pay for one or two adults as well who don't really get to enjoy the place except to see... more

Bring Curiosity and Wallet: Telus loves both
April 14, 2014

Great iMax screening room, recently redone, but pricey for a short 3-d flick we saw, "Jerusalem". Food is institutional, but science displays are fun for all, especially all the kids. Emphasis on participation may put off intellectually-strong visitors of any age, but there's no denying the fun even they can have playing games, trying strength, and acting young. Parents may... more

April 04, 2014

Had to go see this before it left Edmonton. The admission ticket cost (expensive enough already) did not include the cost for the audio tour which was $6 extra. Not being a big Harry Potter fan, I only recognize a few things from the movies. I think it would have been better if the exhibits included pictures from the actual... more

March 23, 2014

Our family of five spent the afternoon just wandering around inside. There are a lot of hands on activities for the kids to keep them busy, while they are learning. The Harry Potter exhibit was also cool (closing soon) for my son who loves the movies.

I don't understand what people are talking about when they say they were rushed through, one commenter saying they only spent 45 minutes in the Exhibit. I went and saw "The Flight of the Butterflies" in Imax, at the TELUS world of science. It was my first Imax film and it was truly incredible. The Harry Potter Exhibit was pretty good. That said, I think the expectation for this was very high and it honestly didn't deliver on that.
