Fast.
Reliable.
Great value for the $$.
They are NOT Rogers or Bell.
The one time there was an issue, they bent over backwards to get the problem done.
Support the little guy, and watch them get bigger and better. If you're tired of getting ripped off by the big boys, give Teksavvy a try then.
Recently moved home to Canada from the US. I have a DOCSIS 3.0 compatible modem. Teksavvy requires you purchase a $200 modem in order to access their service. Given that all new cable modems follow the same communication protocol standard, I can't help but feel that they are trying to rip off potential new customers.
Sorry, but if this is how you treat me _before_ I sign up for your service......

I cannot say enough great things about Teksavvy. My internet speed may be a little slow sometimes, but that is more than made up for the 400 GB per month of data and the exceptional customer service that goes above and beyond.
Set up with them was easy. I own my modem outright. I pay about $56/month for my dry loop and High Speed DSL 25 that gives 400GB. We barely go over 250GB. The technician who came to install was polite, quick, and helpful in trouble shooting.
It only took about 2 days for our service to come online, but that's due to my own pride. I'm "Teksavvy' enough to deal with most LAN issues, but was...

i signed up and bought my modem through them which was a big mistake . Teksavvy installation is actually done by Bell. Installer came activated the line but still no DSL service. Bell thinks it's a bad modem. When I called Teksavvy to cancel since nothing is working I was told they won't refund me anything. As a second option I spoke to their tech guy who insisted modem is fine and it's... more
Cheap but customer service is pretty terrible. If you move be prepared to go a week or two without any internet - they can't book things themselves and when they try they never follow through
I have had cable service from them, but I had to cancel. Reason. Customer service. For two months they have been double charging me. When I called them and told them I was moving to a new address they opened up a new account and then continued to charge me for my old account. When I asked them for a refund for their mistake, I was told they don't offer refunds and that I should have canceled... more
Born in Toronto. Left just after HS grad. Lived in the PNW, USA (pretty high-tech). Comcast monopoly. In fact, I was the first "broadband" customer at 98047 in 1998 (ATT@ Home). Moved back to L4Z XXX in 2013. Still adjusting to USA vs CAD on everything, like $6 gallon of gas in Canada, but it's cool.... All that, Teksavvy is *f* AWESOME for what you get, even compared to the USA ISP... more
I just switched my internet service from Rogers to Teksavvy and I couldn't be happier! Set up was super easy (the majority of it was done online), and their support team was in contact with me shorty after to follow up with setup and any questions or concerns.
Initial setup cost was a little pricey since you have to pay for your first month, plus I needed a modem and I had to buy a wireless...

#teksavvy the worse company in Canada - s@!t services and lazy employees waiting 10 days of a Internet connection now and they will force you to wait and won't refund your money wtf so p@!%!d off now I miss rogers
i f@!%!*g love teksavvy!
i've been a customer for almost 10 years now and haven't ran into any problem with them. at that time, i was fed up with bell and its c@!%!y limit, bad customer service and expensive price so i was looking at a better alternative. after going through forums, boards and whatnot, found teksavvy and read good experiences with them. those good experiences are what made me...

I've been with them for a good number of years, even before they had the cable, and I have to say, I've had absolutely no complaints about them. Actually, they're quite fantastic, the connection has always been stable and good customer service. Every time they had a maintenance scheduled they would send an email to let us know in advance for minor interruptions (which usually took place at... more
best priced, best packages.
only 3 stars because they seem to kack out alot and they use Bell modems which are c@!p - you have two choices, buy c@!p, or rent c@!p, either way tek savvy's suffers because they relied on bell/sagecome modems, which are c@!%!y for wifi and onoing connectivity. we paid for a 10mbps upload speed but were then told the system couldn't handle it so they reduced the...

Been with them for 7 years now and counting. Im on their DSL Service and Home Phone... Customer Service is okay now that they have so many customers on board. There is lots of competition out there, but i truly like Teksavvy fast service and great plans. I dont see myself changing to another competitor yet but they are some enticing deals out there!! Definetly bring your own modem if your going... more
For a discount ISP, they have customer service as good as Bell or Rogers. at any time of the day, you can call them and get live technical support. Internet does drop every now and then, which isn't that different then when I had Rogers. Great value for the price.
Terrible speeds, consistently poor technical and customer support. I would not recommend this ISP to anyone.
Switched to TekSavvy this month, can't say enough good things about their Tech Support team. They found a problem with my modem, totally not their fault.
They stuck with the problem and sorted everything out for me. I felt like a Customer not just an another account.
The team looking after me was personable, knowledge and focused on solving the main problem not just passing the buck.
On top of...

I haven't had a single issue with this company. I get what I'm paying for. Obviously there are many factors to why some may seem to not be getting what they pay for such as distance, home network hardware etc. I've been with Teksavvy for about 2 years now and I have no complaints. Worth a try.
While they've had their share of problems, it's important to note that ALL OF THOSE PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY ROGERS. If you take that as a good reason to go BACK to Rogers, you don't understand how competition - or lack thereof - works for consumers.
I'll support TekSavvy through thick and thin - and really, the issues have been few and far between. I've had just as many problems in the...

We've tried Bell/Horibell and our billing statement changes every month, even if we are careful with our usage and makes sure we don't go beyond our quota since we do not want to pay extra, there will ALWAYS be something WRONG.
Billing errors are monthly, I always have to argue with their customer service rep and then they correct the error...why put myself to stress every single end of the...

I was a happy Teksavvy customer until I got screwed, BIG time. I'll start this review off with a warning... DO NOT SIGN UP WITH TEKSAVVY !
I've lost out on 3 days of work going on 4 because of techs not showing up to the house and CSRs not telling me what's REALLY going on.
Not once was I told of vendor issues upon signing up - meaning they...

I made a huge mistake switching to Teksavvy. I had heard great things about the company, yet from the get-go I have had issues with this company.
1) They kept messing up my order and they were one month late in setting up my internet. I gave them my full address and I kept getting e-mails stating, "your order cannot be processed. Please contact us immediately." It turns out that they did not...

Third and final review/update, as promised.
#Rogers and #Bell have their work cut out. I'd say #Teksavvy gets a 3.5 to 4 star rating. Strong and no contest given lousy tel-comm competitors.
Installation day was delayed by a few days, but when it did happen it was painless. Five minutes with a Rogers techy and then five minutes of my own time connecting the router.
The real star of the show...

Teksavvy is a mixed bag. On the one hand, their customer service online via Twitter and DSLreports are very responsive. On the other hand, they are incredibly slow on finding solutions.
When a modem was dying on me last year, they couldn't diagnose the problem over a week and didn't even talk about sending a technician out. I eventually went and bought a new modem, after narrowing down my...

I'm at home and on the internet, which is working at lightening speeds, so Teksavvy is clearly doing everything it's supposed to do.
If your contract is up at Rogers or Bell run, don't walk, to your phone. Pick said phone up and call Teksavvy and say hello to flat rates for unlimited megablahblahs and no contract.
Damn. I love the internet.
PEPPER POINTS for their customer service. I screwed...

I've been with TS for about a year, and although there have been some problems (mostly with moving the service to a new apartment), they owned up to them all and made amends.
I would recommend TS to anyone who is in their service area.
Bonus points: It is really easy to get in touch with a representative. If calling in and waiting on hold isn't your thing (like me!), they also offer almost...

DO NOT RECOMMEND
For those moving around this time of the year and thinking about setting up your internet. I just wanted to say that I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND TEKSAVVY. I've had a horrible experience with them and was left 2 weeks without internet (soon to be 3 weeks) during the time I needed it the most (time leading up to a very important meeting).
I got fed up with waiting last night and...

I'm extremely happy with Teksavvy. Their call centre people are a little like Westjet employees: cheerful, friendly people-persons.
When I cancelled my Shaw Internet for a move a few years ago, Shaw insisted on charging me for an extra month and a half. When I moved recently, I expected the same fight from Teksavvy...but Jordan, who I was talking to on the phone, actually SAVED me money by...

The service has been much better lately and I would recommend their services.
They said they would come after 7 days. Sure.. NOT horrible.
We waited for them for 4 hours on the day they said they would come. They didn't show up. When I called in they said that they had not said 7 days but 7 days + 1 month.
Reason? "Shaw is busy and is backed up with installs and can't do installs until one month from this day PLUS 5 days" (They use Shaw's installers and network)

After a month and a bit, I can say I am very happy with Teksavvy. The speeds have been pretty consistent throughout, definately better than what we had with Rogers. Happy with this company as a whole.
I was with Rogers ultralight plan until they lowered the bandwidth to 2 GB. I was happy with their reliability and service, so I called to negotiate for higher bandwidth to no avail. I then left to Tekksavvy after a long research. I am happy with its DSL speed and price point. 300GB is more than enough for my usual web surfing and online TV viewing.
I am happy to stay with Tekksavvy for a long...

Soooooo much better than Bell or Rogers. We've been with them for three years and loved it. Only had a couple of issues that were resolved quickly and courteously. They are a small independent ISP, not the corporate monolithic b@astards like the others. Their customer service centre is in Ontario, not India. AND they are fighting the good fight for a free internet! Love it.
I use Teksavvy for both my internet and TekTalk VOIP. My bill is over $40 cheaper than when I was with Bell. I can't complain at all. They were a little 'green' with tech support on VOIP at first, but now they are great, and they quickly resolve any issues. I've had the phone line through them for almost a year now, and I've only had issues twice. If you call them, they help. They are friendly,... more
