Wandering down Brock, and starving, we pub crawled our way down the street.
We'd dined at KB, which was so awesome. My blue rare venison, bone in ribeye was perfection. But we just wanted a few beers and some pub grub.
After a flat beer at Social Resto Lounge (when I say wandered I mean up and down Brock like zombies) we walked to the Vault. Seeing some hoity-toity's outside smoking and...

This is a great bar. Likely one of the best in Whitby. Great atmosphere at almost anytime and the food menu is pretty good as well. Definitely worth the stop.
First timer. Went for post 10th anniversary dinner drinks and dancing - it didn't disappoint. Friday night Patio to dance floor was enjoyable. Closed the place. Will be back.
It's a Whitby icon!
Booze and music .. That's what the tap has been known for since 1997 and if you go on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday night... You will no doubt see what this place is all about!
So you have to wait a little longer to get your food but it is very fresh and tasty. I even had a hard time making up my mind on what to order as there were a few options that sounded good.
Came here for dinner lastnight and was blown away by how good the food was. I ordered the shepards pie with ceasar salad and it was quite delicious I must say.I was excited to see how many different drafts they had on tap here. I picked the 5 paddles beer because I had never tried it before and it's brewed... more
The outside attracted me to the place with the name and the Becks beer (my favourite beer) display. The place is well appointed and nice enough for dinner and as a bar. If you go for a beer they have a good selection BUT - the service was mediocre at best, they do not carry Beck's beer and they completely... more
I went Nov 9 2013 at approx 9:45 pm. The door man/woman were both professional. There was a door fee $7 &we explained we were grabbing to go and they warmly told us to proceed inside. We were greeted at the bar by a blonde female bartender, also very polite/friendly. We ordered pulled pork poutine, 14" meat lovers pizza ,chicken... more
Always wanted to try this place but was always in a rush to do other things. This day, my wife had several appointments downtown so between appointments we decided to have lunch here. I thought it was a small pub due to it's small storefront, but WOW were we surprised when we went in. It is really big and seems... more
went there last night for a friends birthday, he's a regular there. I don't mind waiting in a line up, but the bouncer (powertripping) rudely asked me for ID. I'm 44, but he insited, actually said in a rude tone & manner "i don't care if you forgot your id" I had to go get it. Obviously, he has no... more
While I moved away from Whitby to Toronto a few years ago, I was so happy to see they now have some exciting dining options in town, including the Tap and Tankard. The Tap is quite well known for it's nightlife but I am not sure everyone knows how amazing the food is here. This place should easily place in... more
Been a few times, but not of late. Food and prices are good, but on a couple of occasions the service was slow.
A local favorite with lots of beer on tap and plenty of menu choices to choose from. I really like the wings and they offer classic (no breading) and dusted with basic and exotic sauces. Caesar salad is very good with real bacon bits. Thin crust pizzas are also very tasty. There is something for everyone. We have been served... more
Love the tap! The food is fresh, served quickly and tastes unreal. They have a great selection of beers and wine, something that is a bonus when going with a big group of friends. It really is a Whitby institution so you have to try it!
I have been coming to the tap for over 10 years, enjoying what they have to offer from a number of angles. Their food is incredible for a pub. Everything tastes fresh and it is presented in a true pub-format but without the negative connotation of 'just pub food'. I now live in Vancouver but when I am home in... more
Coming to this place is like going to your favourite gathering but more fun. All the staff goes out of their way to make you comfortable and to make sure you have a reason to come back. I am always amazed at the effort the Management has gone to to constantly bring in new beer and drink choices and how... more
Me, my wife and friends have been before and had great service but tonight the service was poor, the food was ordered to come all together but came in fits and starts with the starters coming after the mains. My wife ordered haddock but came as halibut but as she had waited too long she ate it. The steak fajitas... more
If you want to party a bit, and your an adult, there are not many places to go. Live music some nights. Food is what you would expect from a pub that makes their money from late night patrons. But you can still dance a bit not feeling like a grandpa. Occasionaly, some good rock music that brings you back... more
Once ordered, the food took forever to be served, once it was served it was o.k. They also let far too many people in - it was basically like a sardine can...not our cup of tea.
My husband and I Love the burgers at the Tap, we think they are the best in Whitby.
They have comfy seating there too which makes you want to stay awhile.
If you are in the mood for a good burger, real french fries and a cold beer, may
I suggest you try it.
My boyfriend and I frequently come to the Tap for dinner and the food is always amazing. The wings are absolutely delicious good size and quite yummy. The staff are so friendly and make you feel comfortable.
Good Food, Reasonably Priced Beer and Friendly staff. A Central location Mixed clientel oldies earlier on and the younger set served by a disco later
I really enjoy coming here and sitting on the patio in the summer, it's nice and peaceful back there, a great place to enjoy a cold pint. Well, except last time my husband and I were there for lunch, some weird old homeless-looking dude kept trying to chat with us (and to himself) about how he hates Obama, and bum... more
Slow service and no debit. They offer an ATM at their smokie front door. Roast beef dip so dry that even the jus didn't help. Pizza under done.
Beer cold wine right temp. Enough pubs in Whitby this should not be your first choice
I am not a fish eater but the halibut here was very good. My husband had something different and really enjoyed it as well. The only bad thing was the draught beer was warm which is not something you want on a hot summer day.
Poor service, especially if you are not a regular. Food menu offers lots of fried dishes, no healthy options at all.
Went in the evening and it was full, we had difficulty getting seated.
We went on a Wednesday evening and had the half price wings which were superb and came in many varieties. Very good selection of beers available. Service was also prompt.
Only problem was music was a little loud if you wanted to hold a conversation.
Would recommend...

We just went here last night for dinner. The selection of draft beer is just a little better than average. If you are looking for unique beers you will be disappointed.
But the food is a step above your typical pub. We enjoyed the wings with the tap spice so much we had to order a second lb of them....

Dull, sorry! And sometimes terrible service.
Favorite pub rfor after work drinks, esp on Friday when there is free food. Wings and Nachos are great- excellent selection of draft.
if ya've been there, ya know
