we get our cakes for our office every month from Sweet Art and they are the best! Delicious, fancy, elegant, reasonable price, friendly staff!
Everything is made with quality ingredients—with or without gluten, sugar, or eggs, and special orders are welcome. Citron tart and Belgian chocolate mousse are marvellous. Stay and have a cappuccino or a nice cuppa along with one more florentine or the ever-popular almond croissant.
We stumbled across this place as we we were walking in North Vancouver as I spotted the Eiffel Tower in the sign and thought, might be French with some decent pastries. Plus I liked all the kitsch fat bakers sculptures in the window (and more inside). There was a nice rustic ambience and a small crowd so things were looking... more
This little European bakery and café has wonderful, affordable oatmeal for breakfast. The coffee is very good. Service is earnest. The baked items are tasty, but some did not seem like they were same-day fresh, so ask first.
it used to be a good place and now it feels like you're in one of those Chinatown places, coffee is still good but staff is rude and can hardly speak English.
Ordered croissants and biscotti to go. The croissants are terribly sub-par. No layers. It tasted like plain white bread. Lacked the layers and flakes of a real butter croissant. The biscotti aren't bad.
What really got me was the lack of customer service. The young lady working the front couldn't muster so much as a greeting, was disinterested, unappreciative and...

Polite, friendly service. Very fast! We came on a Saturday afternoon and we were served promptly. Cute teapots! There are many types of pastries and baked goods, as well as soup and sandwiches. The soup was a little flavourless but the croissants were great.
Love the selection of pastries and cookies. There's so much to choose from that I still haven't tried all the different kinds of baked goods they have. Lovely staff always greet you with a smile. They are very helpful and friendly. Bought my birthday cake from them last night..Chocolate Ganache...Talk about YUMM!!!! it was very chocolatey but not too sweet!... more
I love all their pastries, from cookies to cakes. they made my 40th birthday cake and they made it so special. I wish i could share a photo with your guys. I love how they serve tea in a little teapot and have tea leaf and not teabag(they got teabags too). I tried their sanwich too few months ago and... more
I'm surprised by the good reviews. I ordered a chocolate croissant, which was tough and dry, and a mocha. The clerk gave me an espresso and when I questioned her, she didn't seem to know that mochas have milk and chocolate. I felt like she was giving attitude that I didn't know what I was talking about. Not heading back... more
To be honest, I haven't tried that many things at Sweet Art. But what I have tried, seemed average tasting: croissant, cream puff, Neapolitan, and cookies.
I found their prices to be too high.
Although I haven't tried their cakes, they look quite appealing.
Whenever I have gone in, their tables were at least have full, so some people seem...

Greater Vancouver is really lacking in places where you can get both coffee and in-house baking, so it would be nice to be able to recommend this place. Unfortunately, the last couple of times I was here I ended up leaving again because it was taking so long to get service (and that's not table service, it's standing at the... more
Highly recommend this little cafe for an excellent cup of coffee, service always with a big smile and delicious goodies. The ambience is restful and reminds one of a cafe in Paris - often they have music by Edith Piaff in the background. The cakes are absolutely exquisite and they are also delicious - works of art and a real... more
I have had the priviledge of traveling to Europe and have had the best sweets and pastries in the world from the most famous to the most expensive. I was surprised to see someone in Vancouver surpassing Europian quality.
MUST VISIT!
Here is a big secret: I have been buying sweet art's frozen unbaked butter croissants. They sell them by the piece and their price is pretty reasonable. I have been baking them myself, which only takes 12 minutes, and told my friends in the past that I made them from scratch. heheheee The entire house smells soooo good when you... more
Cake tastes so good!! My office usually orders birthday cake for staff, and I personally go there to pick dessert for myself. Cake, creme brule, mille-feuille, cream puff, scone, matcha cookie, etc. etc. It's not too sugary. There is bread too, but I haven't tried yet. (Reviewed on Sep, 2008)
