This was my second time stopping at this particular location. The first time I came here it was a little rushed as I was in a lunch break so I decided to take my time this time around and walk around a bit to see everything that they offer.
I picked up one of their Friday feast dinners, a ready made beef stroganoff plus some odds and ends.
I tried the feast dinner that night and I gotta say,...

I haven't been to Sunterra Marketplace for years but was in the neighbourhood today and decided to stop in. I forget how much I like this place. A bit of a mix of conventional grocery store and unique organic/local. The meat comes from their own farm. I love the prepared food section. Bought a few things and controlled myself because I wanted to buy MORE. Love it
So we came here last night in the hopes to pick up a quick dinner to eat before seeing a show at the Freewill Shakespeare Festival. The deli here has a lot of great options and there's an industrial microwave that you can use to heat up cold deli options on a plate. Of course the microwave settings aren't terribly clear so I'm not terribly fond of that problem, we used the microwave with a more... more
Love this place! Everything I need is here. I love the selection and everyone is VERY helpful. Great spot for groceries and a sit down meal if you want!
If you're looking for a hidden gem lunch spot this is it!! There is a small restaurant style eatery inside the market place so you can also pick up a few fresh groceries while you wait. The food here is delicious! My favorite go to sandwich is the roasted goat cheese panini, it never disappoints and it's always made fresh. they also have soups and a few other dishes that change with the season.... more
Overall a good experience. I just went in to check the place out after driving by it for years. Its a small grocery store. They have lots of premade meals which is handy. It seemed very crowded. (Meaning aisles close together, bakery racks in the way) Things seemed a bit pricier that at your average store, but they also had a lot of different stuff you wouldn't find at an average store which I... more
Today I decided to check this little gem out and was overwhelmed by the quality of food they had in the delicatessen. I had the lunch special soup and sandwich for $8 and a drink for $2. Everything was awesome and they got a new customer for life.
I like the pre-made food here. They serve food that tastes healthy and fresh, although it is on the salty side. Also, I like that their daily specials are different every day which indicates that it's being made fresh daily. I've never felt sick after eating their food, nor do I feel dizzy (a sign of food additives), it's just a bit too salty (if any employees from Sunterra reads this please... more
Sunterra has a mouth watering deli and bistro. The daily soups and specials are worth checking out. Bright and open eating area makes for a enjoyable lunch. I have gone back multiple times.
Sunterra kitchen cooks the best soups in Edmonton.
Best place to go and have a hearty warm lunch or brunch or dinner. There's always something new cooking at Sunterra.
After you eat you can load up on all the goodies and bring them home with you!
Really love their homemade ranch dressing.
I was looking for a good quality butcher somewhere in edmonton fairly late at night. Sunterra had great reviews so i gave it a shot. I went and looked at their selection (which is very small for beef) and the steaks that i saw we're Grade A. Unfortunately unless you know the grading system in canada you could get fooled. Grade A is the lowest, AA is a bit better, Then AAA, is utility steak,... more
This is a boutique grocery store that is close to my place and I am so happy to have it close by. It isn't my everyday grocery store as I can get many of the same items much more cheap at other grocery stores.
They do set themselves apart though in the quality of some of their produce, meats and prepared foods. They also focus on local organic ingredients as much as possible.
Some of their...

The people who work there are not super helpful and the selection is better at Planet Organic. However, they have a few delicious flavours of dairy-free ice cream. Lemon and Mango/Pineapple are the best :)
I found Sunterra Market last summer and have since had a smile plastered across my face just thinking about it. It's a touch pricey, but I wouldn't have it any other way! I'm a big believer in supporting anything that is unique or local. Sunterra is both!
They have a wide selection of ready made foods, everything from chicken breast, quinoa salad and green onion cakes to fresh salads, fruit...

Slightly pricey, but their deli with an assortment of prepared foods (prepared fresh in store) is super convenient. Their Friday Night feasts are also a great idea, a different 3 course meal each week, packaged up and just needs to be reheated. I find the high prices can be offset with the Sunterra card points, which I actually redeem at their commerce place location for lunch. The employees... more
Great market. High quality foods and nice selection of fresh made take home meals and salads.
Excellent quality, but mostly is not organic, I would hold a health food store above conventional food. However they do have some very unique good products. The prepared foods are reasonably priced for what they are, you know they are doing to be fresh and taste good. The deli area has good prepared food that is fresh and tasty.
Prices are high and you could by organic elsewhere for the...

I was addicted to Sunterra scones for quite awhile and my work used to order from there regularly. In general the place is expensive for what you get although they do have tasty pizzas and scones.
Things went downhill for me after I found a long brown hair baked into the centre of my scone last month. I like to...

I enjoy coming to this place for lunch. I haven't been here for dinner yet but would love to try it. Its like a grocery store and restaurant all mixed in one. Hot stuff, cold stuff, anything. They have special everyday, different pastas. If youre looking for healthy options this is the place to go. I always get the chicken breast and mash potatoes. The chicken is made fresh there and all you... more
I used to like them until this experience happened. Just before Christmas I picked up a large family sized mixed salad. After eating a small serving , my husband and I dished up a little more. To our horror, the under layer looked like the discards of rotten vegetation. Slimy peppers and the bottoms of salad mix. I don't mean one or two, we are talking over 10-12. The lettuces were also slimy.... more
Loving a good market and fresh eats, my husband and I just landed on Sunterra two weeks ago. There are so many fresh options and dishes made from scratch. We love that the meat comes from their own farm, and last nights steaks were great.
There is a great selection of condiments and side dishes, fruits and veggies, home style cooking, eat in or take home.
Last nights blueberry pie was perfect...

Ok, ok, it's a little pricey but some how, worth it. I find that the quality of the produce, deli and meat department are really excellent. I love that in the deli department there are so many delicious, unique and varied options of pre-made salads, etc. The cheese selection is excellent. I love all the super yummy gourmet sauces, crackers, oils, vinegars and other culinary treats that are... more
I like it here. Inside you'll find a pretty sound grocery store. However, I tend to come here once a week for lunch. Unfortunately, there a number of things on the menu that seem too salty. This includes things like the Big Pans and Paninis. However, there are things I love in the store. This includes the deserts and the cut fruit. My favourite has to be the quinoa salad. It's a little on the... more
I know to get good things you gotta pay for them but sometimes it's just too much! There cakes are over priced and so dry which was disappointing. Their tirmasu cups are so sweet they hurt your teeth and it's all just whipping cream. They have a nice salad bar it's just not stocked up as often especially around lunch... more
Sunterra has something for everyone. It's a huge mishmash of items that are fresh and good. I think the concept is interesting, but nothing else really stands out.
It gas been a long time since a visit, however it is local to where the wife works and she brings different foods home from there, always have been good and tasty
This is what a lunch break should be... co-workers, good food and comfortable surroundings. Don't overlook their takeout suppers.
Always something different to try and their produce is colourful and fresh. If you want to try something new, come here as they have all sorts of things on offer!
I love this place for its fresh foods and variety. I love coming here beacuse i can always find something i like, its healthy , good for the body. Yes the price are higher, but once in a while you got to treat yourself.
Just ok food - soups all taste the same. Pizzas are a hit or miss. Average food - works in pinch. Sandwiches and tasteless and breads are usually quite dry and crusty. Better options are footsteps away.
Sunterra market has some of the best meat in town - their pork is especially good. Try the pepper bacon! We also enjoy the chocolate banana bread and dutch dairy milk. Sunterra has some of the best selection of sauces, spices and condiments if you are looking for something different. The produce section is small but usually good. They used... more
Not the kind of place where you do our regular grocery shopping, but definitely a place to go when you've got company coming. Great prepped stuff, great produce and meats. They have the yuppie market cornered...and that's not a bad thing at all.
Great local produce, good selection of meats. Good organic, good lunches. friendly & helpful staff. You will not be dissapointed.
A large space with a huge selection., along with a small cafe serving prepared items you select from the various counters, to make up your own meal. Lots of vegetarian selections and organic items. Sunterra raises its own beef and pork in Alberta and has plenty of great cheeses and prepared foods. Good for a quick lunch stop. Also offers high quality take-out dinners.
Sunterra market in Lendrum is one of my favourite small grocery stores. They carry many locally sourced products and some things that you cannot get elsewhere. I love the bakery, deli and meat counter, but the isles are very narrow so I don't go for my regular weekly shopping.
I eat here at least once a week for lunch. Quick and easy food choices, as well as good prices. I like to pick things up and take them back to the hotel for dinner in the evenings as well.
Great breakfast and lunch selection. Go for lunch and get a bowl of soup or stew. Some days they serve a paella that is some of the best I have ever had.
I remember going to Sunterra market downtown at Manulife place for lunch back in highschool, buying their freshly baked cookies, or pizza's or even their sandwiches or wraps that they make there. This was also the place where i discovered vitamin water, cause it was the... more
This particular Sunterra is located in Commerce Place, which is right next to Scotia Place and Manulife Place in downtown Edmonton. Edmonton and surrounding area need more Sunterra Markets. I don't get there often but when I do I am never disappointed. Everything I have tried has been delicious and fresh!
I am a huge fan of Sunterra Market. It's a brightly lit, clean store with big windows facing the street. I always feel relaxed and happy when I shop there, there's something about the ambiance that makes me just feel content to linger in the aisles. Their motto, "Real Food from Real Farmers", is reflected in their produce section, deli and meat counters.
Their produce section is full of fruit &...

Amazing food market with an incredible deli. Try the domades, they are the best and the quinoa salad...mmmm. Everything is so fresh and delicious
I'm always coming out of Sunterra Market buying more than what I came there for. Although the food there is a bit pricier than the average market, I don't mind spending that extra little bit.

I have to say Sunterra is my go to place for all my fresh produce, meats and deli. Everything is so fresh and they have got such a fantastic deli that usually once a week it is Sunterra that makes a meal for us and it is just like homemade! Thanks sunterra
Good place to stop for a quick lunch. Right in the mall, accessible by pedway. Lots of options, nicer than fast food, or bag lunch.
We love this place! The supermarket has excellent organic produce. The vegetables and fruit are always lovely here. We also enjoy eating lunch here. The takeaway ribs are a really good if you are in a rush for a meal! Actually, all of the food in the market is excellent. Definitely check this place out.
Sunterras bakery has always been a favorite hang out for coffee and a treat. Its always busling with shoppers and a fun place to try out new culinary spices, dips, spreads, oils and the like. A great change from the average supermarket where if you like to try new things, you will definitely find them there. Wish there was one... more
This has got to be my favorite grocery store in the city. The produce is always amazing and Sunterra definitely has the best meat counter! Also, if you ask they'll tell you the... more
They have great hot meals in their big pans, a nice variety of soups but I opted for the thin crust pizza. Nice fresh ingredients. Oh and its the only place I know of that has real fresh squeezed OJ.
Sunterra is a true gem of a grocery store. I wish I was shopping here more often. Firstly, it's a co-op grocery store in that it is made up of the owners of Sunterra farms, a group of individually run farms around parts of Alberta.
While they offer high quality meat and foul that are locally grown and humanely treated, they also have a pretty decent spread of vegetables and dairy that are...

I had lunch at their Bistro as my better half did her grocery shopping. An excellent brie and ham panini with a side of delicious black bean soup. Can't say I tried the coffee or anything else. As far as a supermarket goes, there are many...

Very, very disappointing customer service. The manager blamed the cashier for giving us incorrect information about a gift certificate. When asked what we could do about the difficult situation, we were told to get a lawyer. I will never go back. EVER.

Good for breakfast, brunch, or lunch - but skip the refrigerated take out items (overpriced, and days old).
Horrible. Soggy sandwiches and overcooked beef
Great to place to grab lunch and go! Nice selection of drinks and food and interesting changing menu.
I've only ever had Sunterra when a coworker has brought something to share at work, but I got a chance to try the south end location yesterday. I was never really sure what it was all about, if it was a health and organic market like Planet Organic or what. Browsing through the store yesterday, I saw it was more like Sobey's, a high-end grocery store where everything is fresh and top quality.

The Sunterra market is all that a market should be in a modern city starved for quality and authenticity. While there's no dirt on this fruit, all the produce here tastes garden fresh (but you pay for it). MMMM...lunch downtown if you work there or not.
Great variety of lunch venues!
Tried the one on 111 street. Great for lunch :)
One of my favourites, unbeatable for lunch rush service and quality of food, price to quality ratio is EXCELLENT, sadly they are not open for Supper
my favorite lunch location - fresh food, lots of choices and great people watching.
Great place to eat when your downtown at lunchtime! Great big pan dishes. Nice ambiance (wood floors, bit of fruit and veggie display, beverage cooler, Starbuck's coffee counter etc. etc etc.) They also have a loyalty program with free cake on your birthday.
They're alright. Not as fresh as they like to think they are, but it's still a better alternative to fast food.
Smaller selection then the one on 111 St, but still great.
awesome food, get some local organic, good eats, good meal ideas, and pre packaged dinners.
Quick and easy. Lots of choices but expensive.
Smells wonderful. Nice varity to choose from. Convenient when shopping :)
Relaible fresh food for lunch and ready to cook meals for supper. Can get inpassibly busy.
Sometimes good. Sometimes not. Good saladbar. Catered meals are bland.
Good place for a quick lunch.
