This place surprised us with its size -- something that is not immediately apparent just from the street view. We did have a lunch here and found the food to be just OK which we have learned to be the standard for pub fare in the many Irish Pubs here. Maybe not the best time to visit during the afternoon... more
Hit up the Sundance for Sunday brunch after a late night of drinks n' dancing.
I had the Eggs Benedict. So disappointing. Meal was already cool and there was the tiniest of dollop of Hollandaise sauce. Homefries were good but again, not hot.
Service was slow despite the fact the restaurant had few patrons.
Patio was lovely and spacious.
Great place to a have drink! Service was good. Though the food was ok. Maybe it was just what we ate.
Group of 10 ladies went to enjoy the deck on a sunny Saturday afternoon as the beginning of a special evening out. We were waiting 1/2 hour at least just to get a drink, much longer for food that arrived cold when it should have been hot! First drinks were long gone while we waited for seconds, informed that they... more
Very busy with a younger crowd. Nice atmosphere. Food looked good but we waited so long for the drinks we drank up and left. Waitress recommended 2 beers, came back and said one wasn't working so we picked the other. After 20 minutes a jug came 3 inch below top said they had difficulty with that tap also. I said... more
Myself and a friend wanted to enjoy the weather on the deck so we go down to the Sundance expecting an awesome meal and a good time. The *new* cod bites meal on the menu caught our eyes, sounded delicious so we both ordered, payed extra for dressing and gravy. When the waitress placed our food in front of us... more
It's too bad this bar/restaurant doesn't make a better effort with the food, as the location (on George street and across from Mile One) is great. Fish was hot on the outside, actually slightly burnt, but cold in the middle. Taco salad was unedible. Must have been premed for quite some time. The taco bowl was completely soggy and the... more
For thos of us that enjoy a hot meal this wasn't the place. Mediocre PUB Grub that was marginally warm at best. Beer was cold
Nice little spot with good simple food and drink. We lucked out and happen to eat here on the patio on a sunny spring day.
I am working in St John's for the next 12 days and I have plenty of time to try all the restaurants in town. I was taking a client out for lunch and he decided to go to Sundance...''Heated Patio".
So here we come after spending 7 minutes looking for a parking space. After parking we crossed the 4 lane...

I have been here many times to eat but the last few times the service has been painfully slow. Also, wasps are a problem when eating on the deck. Ok experience. It has been better. Food was ok but unremarkable.
We had lunch at the Sundance.
It claims that it's a beer market ... no, it's not. It has the usual selection of big name beer ... nothing too exciting.
Because of the regatta that day, it was quiet.
Gord ordered Fish 'n Chips. It looked and tasted good.
I ordered medium wings. They were okay. There were only seven...

A large bar/restaurant with lots of menu choices and many drink options. We loved the onion rings and nachos. Fish and chips were fresh and hot. As a party of 6 all left happy and full!
I wouldn't even give this a ONE. I just returned from the Sundance Saloon. My friends and I ordered beer, nachos and poutine. We waited for 2.5 hours. When we first arrived, we sat down and waited at a dirty table for 30 minutes. We attempted to make eye contact with the servers, which just was not happening. We saw... more
Its your typical pub-grub on George St. What I like is a choice of large partio or open aire seating indoors. Service was prompt and friendly, drink specials were ususal for the area. We ordered the sampler platter off the appetizer side. It was your typical deep-fried everything, and a huge pile of potatoe rounds (not cooked enough for my... more
They are extremely under staff, we were waiting there for 15 min just to get the menus and after that for about 50 mins to get just a simple meal, finally after all that wait we got something different that we have ordered! Extremely mad at them and the way they handled it at least they should have apologized for... more
Its a great place to start off your night, and its great for anyone 19+. I've been there before and seen mostly younger people, and I've been there before and have been the only one there under 40 who wasn't working, so its not theres no target age group.
For 19-25 year olds mostly. No older customers, very young enviroment.., rowdy crowd. RIght atmosphere for the right event. Frat party type environment. Very packed on the weekends.
Great spot for the young adults in the city of St. John's to meet and have a great time.
I don't know if it's for lack of servers (I often saw them grouped together) or just a lack of service training, but service is mightly slow at this place. Food was ok, nothing spectacular. Nice big deck for summer gatherings.
i absolutely LOVE the taco salad and sweet potato fries here. I crave it.
we had to wait 90 mins for our food and 60 after for our bill they they shouldnt hire bimbos to work there
Deck is the draw. Deck deck deck. Nothing else. It’s not a restaurant it’s a bar with a deck that has a menu. Not to say that’s a bad thing.
The Sundance is iffy. I find the service is usualy bad. Especially if they’re busy. It’s not a place to go if you’re in a rush.
Pub food. It's ok. Often has live entertainment. Wait staff aren't enthuastic.
Sundance offers these services: disco equipment, discotheques equipment.
