I came here to buy a gift. The minute that I walked in I sensed a cold and unwelcoming vibe from the staff. I was relieved when a staff member ---a middle aged woman--- approached me after she saw me looking at some of the scarves. My relief however would soon turn to shock.

Let me be clear, I only went into Stollery's to get my girlfriend to try on their line of Barbour jackets. I wasn't actually going to buy anything. Over priced and snobby staff.

The staff couldn't be bothered to give me the time of day. I guess I didn't fit into their classification of a proper customer. So I wandered around aimlessly for a few minutes, almost bought a shirt, but decided I didn't want to give them my business.

I only shop at the discount outlet in the basement where their prices aren't ridiculous. The staff are extremely pushy because their survival literally depends upon them making that sale. You can see the disappointment in their faces when you say "thank you, I'll think about it."

hmm, well I was looking for a Barbour jacket, a lady was " HELPING" me ( long hair, sandy blonde older lady ) when the fit was to big, she insist to tell me it's great ??? C'mon lady.

Sure, they have interesting stuf, most of it British, and some of it reasonably priced--at least by Toronto standards. But customer service sucks more often than not. On my last visit, a lady who works there sneered at my jeans--I guess I should've worn a tuxedo. She was rude and condescending. I will probably not buy there again.
