Good Food, Fair Price
August 08, 2014

Portions were more than what we are accustomed too, it was good. Asked for a Mountain Dew, waitress said they had Pepsi products, but not that selection. As we left, the MD was in the cooler selection - it was a laugh!

For the price I would look elsewhere

Although this hotel is located in downtown Winnipeg I really think at $92 a night after tax is overpriced for this hotel
The first thing that got to me was when the cab driver suggested I grab my Timmies soon, as I did not want to be outside once the sun went down.... Then when I checked in and received... more

Best Avoided
November 29, 2012

After reading some of the reviews i expected to be propositioned on the doorstep, fight my way past the drunks outside and then be insulted by the reception staff. Actually it wasn't that bad though to be honest i wouldn't choose it again. The St Regis is a low cost hotel with most of the guests there for medical visits.... more

It's ok
November 06, 2012

Prices are very reasonable and portions are fairly large. The food itself was surpringly tasty too. However, this place is terrifying. An obviously dangerous location with many drunks wandering around and fighting in the streets.

Home away from home

Whilst this hotel was not the newest kid on the block it provided everything we were looking for. We were in Winnipeg to visit my son at Uni and the St Regis provided comfort, convenience and value for money. The loung room and kitchen were more than adequate, even down to the coffee machine and pods. The 2 very large... more

Wished we'd followed our instincts and not checked in
September 28, 2010

On arrival there was an ambulance and police outside, but we could not tell if they were there for someone from the hotel, we later found out they were. The lobby was full of people and was chaotic. The feel of the hotel was uncomfortable boarding on dangerous. When we arrived in our room it smelt of cigarettes and the... more

The Regis" = Wild and Wooly
November 14, 2008

I stayed at "The Regis" in Winnipeg for the first time, ever, this week (Nov 12, 2008). I was there for three nights, and felt like I was on a roller coaster ride the entire time. It starts when you get to the front door: there were usually a bunch of drunk people pushing, shoving, yelling, looking a bit dangerous.... more

Run Away as fast as you can
September 28, 2008

The only nice thing about this hotel is its location. Me and 4 friends were in Winnipeg for the Elton John Concert so I unknowingly picked The St. Regis for its location. Big Mistake!Drunk and stoned Native Americans littered the street and lobby. There was a hooker greeting us as well. The front desk guy was totally clueless. I booked... more

Stay away
June 18, 2008

My son and I visited Winnipeg for the first time so we never knew what we were getting ourselves into when we booked the hotel. When we arrived we couldn't get through the front door - it was being blocked by a bunch of drunks, that made me very uncomfortable, and didn't like my son seeing that either.
After we... more

As always, my stay always gets better. Being in the heart of downtown
Winnipeg, parking is not a problem at the St. Regis as parking is offered on site for a minimal daily charge. From the moment of arrival, the friendly front desk staff assure a hassle-free check-in and check-out. The rooms are equipped with large screen T.V.'s, neon lighting... more

Great Service and Smiling Faces
June 30, 2005

My husband and I stayed at "The Regis" for 10-11 yrs and found it a VERY enjoyable stay, great value for the $ and so close to everything. We had lived in Thompson, so needless to say if I ever make it back to Winnipeg I'd definitely stay at The Regis.

Great little place downtown
July 05, 2004

Never heard of it before, but saw it advertised at the airport. Middle of the downtown, half a block from the new arena. Good lounge. Fine food at reasonable price. Very good value. Would return.

Good value for the money
May 17, 2003

I stayed here with my boyfriend on Valentine's Day - we got a good deal online for one night's stay. The hotel is right in the heart of downtown, with Gotham's steakhouse right below. It is a heritage hotel and so it has some charm - it is also a very small hotel. However, there is no parking and we... more

The St. Regis is another of Winnipeg's character hotels. It was built in 1911 and has been maintained to excellent standards. Each of the hotel's rooms is modeled differently, so travelers can expect a slightly different stay each time. It is one of the least expensive inns downtown and is close to many of the city's premier attractions. Check website for more details.
