One bite from one of these burgers, made right before your eyes, with your own toppings, specialty sauces and fries, and you will keep coming back every time your in town.
If you can eat a burger and fries and you are still hungry, I'd be surprised, but if you did have room, they have the best fix, they are not called splitz grill for nothing, try the spilt it will top you over.
From beef to wild salmon, chicken, Italian sausage, free-range bison, organic turkey and signature spicy lentil burgers, fun starts in the Garnish area as you direct cooks to start piling on toppings and homemade sauces galore. Balance the grease with a Caesar or greek salad, or keep the vitamin G flowing with onion rings and house cut fries. Finish with ice cream floats and sundaes, and... more
After reading all the amazing reviews was looking forward to a good burger for dinner. Well it was very disappointing to say the least even as fast food goes. The one positive thing is that they do... more
Headed into Splitz on our first day in Whistler, looking for some comfort food, and that's what we got! I had the Legendary, my other half had the Bison, and they were great. Both cooked really nicely, and we liked the customizable toppings. The only downer was that it wasn't incredibly comfortable inside -- a strange smell was in the main seating area, so we opted for the crowded table by the... more
This is a Whistler standard for burgers that are homemade (you see them making the patties while you order) and very well done.
You really get to pick everything you want on your burger and can choose from a good variety of meats. Some of their special sauces are really special and you can create your own specialty.
Fries are... more
Ok. So I am not a burger lover; but I live with one. In fact, I usually hate being dragged into burger joints.
This restaurant has converted me! I loved it. My burger loving husband thought his was great. So if you are a fan of the classic beef burger, it has been endorsed by a burger expert!
I decided... more
This place gets voted best burger in whistler every year. You choose all the fixings, with some great sauces, even hummus. The owners are delightful and helpful, though the guy who put the fixings on was surly and not having a good day. Also have lamb, buffalo burgers and other specials. The fries are well done, substantial and tasty. Also... more
These burgers were amazing. They are some of the biggest burgers I have ever had. I loved how there were options for vegetarians. I had the lentil burger which was really good. There are so many options including whether you want your burger in a bun or wrap. There are options with the types of sauces and condiments. The burger... more
Great Burger and excellent fries. Just place your order, but stay in the lineup as you get to custom order all your sauces and condiments. You feel processed but when you have a rep for good food you can expect that on Whistler. They manage the hungry biker, hikers very well. The staff were excellent considering they just pump the... more
It can be tough to find a place that the kids and the adults will enjoy. This place allows you to build your own burger, so you can choose a plain jane model for the kids, then have buffalo meat with fried onions and babaganoush for yourself. Good value - fed the whole family for under $40.
Staff was helpful and friendly. They encouraged the "splitz sauce" and gave suggestions on dressing burgers. Our meal for 4 was $40 so a reasonable place for dinner in Whistler. You order at the counter, and slide down the assembly line (much like Subway) as they dress your burger. We had chicken fingers for the kids (good size portions) and... more
After reading all the reviews we had to try this out. The burgers are great - I liked the idea of being able to have it constructed the way I like it...but the sides portions are lacking! My son had even less fries than I did (we are healthy eaters and don't look for a lot of "fat" but this... more
You choose your bun, then the meat, then the toppings and the add-ons. Great beef burger for lunch and nice-sized chicken breast too. Tasty special sauce and good fries!! It's not fast food and it's just OK for sit-down lunch or dinner. This place seems to have a very loyal following and you need to go there to see what... more
Whistler is a hard place to stay in business -- there's just so many great restaurants and cafes that if you don't make the cut, you don't stay around. Somehow, Splitz manages to survive, despite being over-priced and always under delivering. I've dined here on four occasions, each time hoping I was too critical on my last visit. I don't... more
As it was our first time we were greeted with "It's like a subway for burgers" which made life a lot easier from the off. It's far better than subway with fresh burgers made and grilled in front of you. Good staff and lovely food, The fries were great too.
I went for the double regular burger which was v... more
Well worth a visit for burger fans as they are cooked and constructed freshly in front of you. Take your pick of sauces, salad and anything else you want to add. Def recommend the bison burger for a change and even the fries are better than the average. Enjoy ... We did !!
This is our second trip to Splitz Grill in as many years. Friendly greeting at the door-didn't get that vibe of "oh-not a local" here, even though this is a local favorite. Wonderful choices of burger meat and toppings that range from the standard ketchup/mustard to hummus and tzatsiki and baba, all made fresh. 2 combos for lunch totaled just... more
This burger restaurant is a great example of a concept that provides a fresh cooked made-to-order homestyle burger. There are many choices of toppings and also a multigrain bun option. Chicken, turkey and bison burger options also available. Service is efficient and friendly. French fries were cooked to order, hot and fresh.
If you enjoy burgers this is the place to eat. 2 burger combos were just short of $10 + GST each. Staff friendly enough, we got there 19:50 hrs. Closing time was 8 pm but they still let us eat in. Most reviews we read were positive & they weren't wrong.
We went to the Splitz Grill based on recommendations from tripadvisor. We made it as far as the Olympic Square and had to ask for directions from the tourist information as it is tucked around the corner. Although it was off-season in Whistler, people were lined up to order. This was not a bad thing because it gave you time... more
The menu is a little confusing to start but once you choose what you want on your burger they start to cook the patty before your eyes, then they add the additions you chose and put it all together! Very tasty and fresh without a doubt! Definitely recommend this as a great stop in Whistler!
On a sunny Friday afternoon in May, we went for a day trip to Whistler from where we were staying in Abbotsford. I had read about Splitz Grill in a magazine. I asked the nice lady in the information booth in the town square and she knew right away what I was talking about. We found it easily on Main... more
We arrived at a busy time and while we were waiting it gave us a chance to study all the options on the board. The staff were very helpful and friendly and when the food arrived it was excellent a pity there aren't places like this closer to home
The burgers at Splitz are very tasty, come with all the fixings you can desire. The fries are also very good. There is plenty of room to sit, which you will use while you wait for your burger to get ready to your taste. You choose the toppings/sauce and it will get made the way you want. Price is very... more
Best burger I've had in a while and a great set-up. I had a meat one and my GF had a veggie one (best she'd ever had) made with real veggies and pulses, I tried a bit and it was very good but the meat was fantastic. Worth a visit for sure.
Don't let the name and location fool you. This place is always busy with skiers and boarders who are done by 4pm and looking for a place to eat. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are huge. The food is made right in front of you. Fountain drinks are unlimited as they are self served. Since it's always... more
I didn't think this place was anything great. My favorite part about it wasn't the burger but the diversity of garnished that you could place on it. I had the buffalo burger and my husband had the splitz burger. He thought he was really good and I thought mine was nothing to write home about. We also had the yam... more
Yes this is a brilliant burger, and a very popular place. So get it delivered! We have enjoyed Splitz burgers before so it was an easy decision to get the delivery to the door. It got to Blackcomb in 30 mins which is shorter time than I have waited at the shop before. Happiness,
We finished up our day of snowboarding and headed to Splitz. We had come before on our last trip and the burgers are super tasty but I decided I was in the mood for a banana split. I was in total love! I had the creme brûlée, cheesecake, and peanut butter ice cream with every topping they had. This would... more
The Family wanted a quick fulfilling meal and this ticked ALL the boxes. Nothing fancy but great burgers freshly cooked to perfection, the fries were also superb. The result - four full bellies and four empty "plates". We ate early and got a table but the queue as we were leaving shows this is fast food worth waiting for!
The cost of the burgers range from $6 - $9 (excl tax). There is a bit of a wait (fluctuates all the time though).
My burger patties were slightly overdone but were still good. This was not the case for the other members in my party hence I've given the food a 'Very Good' rating.
Downside was that we had... more
We heard from the locals that this is the place to go. Being from Florida, the #2 beef producing state in the US, we enjoy good beef. Well, I'm sorry to say that the Canadians know how to make the best burger. It was delicious. Make sure you get their special sauce on it too. Yes, it's counter service, but... more
It is rare in a Ski resort to find somewhere that serves up good and affordable food. They offer a great range of affordable burgers, option up for a few dollars to soft drink and chips. The staff are friendly and easy going. They have plenty of room if you want to eat in, the facilities are basic but it... more
- Heard rave reviews about this place from some of the locals so we thought we would give it a try. We love the concept of build your own burger but it was all a bit hectic. The people in front of us were having a big old conversation and blocking up the isle way so we couldn't see the condiments to choose from. We have kids so only one of us could make the burgers while the other one stayed at... more
Decent place, decent service, decent burger. Nothing special. I tried the turkey burger and my wife had the regular burger. Lots of options, sauces and extras. All in all it was a average to above average meal.
This is a definite have to go place in Whistler!!! Just writting this made me salivate!! The burgers are big juicy and very delicious!! The Splitz sauce is a must have in your burger, and make sure to have the Splitz Fries for the best poutine I had in a while! Now that a wrote this, I gotta get a... more
After having Spitz recommended to us by our instructor we headed on over. On arriving I wish we'd just turned around as the food tasted exactly like you'd expect from this little cafe.
Server was fine, it is a self service restaurant. Burger was disappointing to say the least, chargrilled, salty, dry and over cooked (IMHO). Won't be going back... more
This is the Best Burger In North America......Having eaten at some of the Best Burger Places in the US and Canada.....the Splitz in Whistler is the Best Burger I have EVER had....My son attends UBC Okanagan and i've been tempted to drive the 8 hours to go to Splitz again. I was last there in 2007 and Fell In Love With These Burgerz.
Hands down the best burger in whistler/blackcomb!! It is a creation beyond what you expect, the meat is delicous, the veggies are fresh and the sauces are out of this world.
If i could go here every week i would fly to canada!
1st time. Very busy. Had to wait for a while but the burgers are made when you order and there is a choice of a number of toppings and sauces. I had a lamb burger and iIt was very tasty. Prices are reasonable. I think it was about $7.50 for the burger. If you want to eat in seating is limited but I would definitely go back again.
"""Great """"tailor made"""" burgers. There are almost too many choices so you need to have a strategy. As a first-timer it was difficult to see at first that the real choices of toppings came AFTER having ordered and payed. The seating area could have been nicer """
We had heard reviews about Splitz as being one where the locals go - it took us a bit to find it - and it did not disappoint -wonderful burgers
A hole in the wall on a side street serving the Best Burgers in Whistler. Creative burgers with dazzeling choice.
Yes, the burgers are grilled, and yes, they are made to order... but so are the burgers from BBQ Bob's in Creekside, and theirs are quite a bit larger and substantially tastier. Splitz Grill thrives off the plethora of "gourmet" toppings like hummus, baba ghanouj, or sprouts. Whilst extra spreads and veggies can be delicious, those seeking a good burger of substantial beef should look... more
No trip to Whistler is complete without a burger from Splitz's Grill. Burgers made to your special order means you could eat here every day and have something different each time. Free range turkey burgers are juicy and tasty. They also offer bison, salmon, lamb, Italian sausage and all the toppings you could possibly imagine. A must try if you are in Whistler and looking for a great burger!
A casual dining experience. You can choose from gourmet chicken or
beef burgers and pair them with fries and onion rings or a helping of
poutine. Chicken, salmon, Italian sausage, lentil and veggie patties
are prepared daily with fresh ingredients. Offers more than 20 different
sauce varieties, toppings you pick yourself and a complete kids menu.
Splitz has some of the best burgers on the planet. They have some
of their own special sauces. You will likely make a mess of yourself
as the juicy burgers and sauces make for a drippy combination.
It is all very healthy stuff too - well, as healthy as a burger can
Best Burger Joint in a Mountain Resort in North America. Great
selection of various types of burgers from Chicken, Lamb, Moose,
Beef & Lentil!
As they say.... "It's all natural... no implants baby!"
Huge burger and amazing fries!
We found the Splitz Grill on our second-to-last evening in town. We were walking around and decided to take a peek at the menu. It is a very simple menu, with all sorts of burgers, wraps, and that type of fare, but also included some fancy burgers such as Italian sausage burger and the Salt Spring Island lamb burger. How about a lentil burger or garlic prawn and fresh mango wrap? We decided to... more
Splitz Grill is probably one of the best values is Whistler. It is located a bit out of the way underneath the alpenglow hotel (across from 7-eleven), however only a couple minutes from the village center. Most locals will definantly know this place. You can get a complete meal for less than $10cdn (and there´s no table service, so no tips are necessary). This is, however, no McDonald´s. The... more
Splitz Grill offers these services: restaurant, ice cream cones.
American-style burgers are only a skip away from the village in Whistler, where these popular gourmet burgers have become a hit with locals. Since their opening in 1997, Splitz has fast made a name for itself with its local, fresh ingredients and down-home style service. In addition to all the classics try a Saltspring Island Lamb burger, a Teriyaki Salmon burger, or even a Spicy Lentil burger.... more
Splitz is known for doing something extraordinarily well: Burgers. But not just the humble beef burger (though they do that as well). Here, you have a choice of chicken, salmon, sausage, lentil, veggie and a few others. So, start off by choosing a burger, and then select a few from a list of about twenty toppings. Accompanied by a heap of fries – or even poutine, if you're so inclined – and you... more
