This rural countryside apple orchard cider estate has a lovely restaurant and bar as well as great food to go for the busy person. The pizzas (oven fired) are large and delicious. The apple cider is the best and the service was quite fast. Great views - with eat inside or on the outside verandah. Saturday pizza night is great... more
Fresh food, excellent cider and wonderful service. A great place to relax and enjoy local fare. I will visit throughout the year.
My daughters and I decided to try the resturant based on a recommendation. Sadly, it wasn't the experience we had hoped.
Firstly, we had to wait almost five minutes to be seated even though the resturant was empty. The staff seemed more interested in chatting at the bar than serving the customer's waiting to be seated. The store staff came...

This was recommended and it did not disappoint. We stopped for lunch. We settled on glasses of sparkling cider, which was excellent. We chose to share 2 appetizers and were told they would be large portions. The Brie and the chicken pate could easily be shared by 4 people. Next time we'll try sandwiches or the pizza which all looked... more
location on a quiet street, amazing pizza selelction and delicious home baked bread, with a variety of wine choices. Staff very friendly
Although I enjoy the food here I do find the staff to be a little unfriendly/borderline rude. I really prefer my service with a smile. I hadn't been in a while and they have changed the menu, it wasn't as good as before but the share platters are still tasty.
We went there yesterday hoping to replicate the experience of a previous trip. It was not to be. The menu, as others have pointed out, is very very limited and what was still offered is pricey. It would be OK for lunch but not anything else. The pizza had a thick crust which I love but the toppings were very... more
One of the best pizzas I have ever had. It took a few minutes to get a table as it was packed, but when we did, our order was taken promptly. The pizza was fantastic and the staff all friendly and helpful. The homemade crumble and local ice cream was a great dessert afterwards.
We also tried a couple of...

Whether you are driving or cycling by, a stop at Spirit Tree is well worth it. It is a gorgeous setting; a beautiful building set among the orchards. The people are so lovely and welcoming and the atmosphere of the place is something special. My husband and I enjoyed a lovely pizza lunch on the patio, which was so delicious... more
When we seated ourselves at a table, a female waiter told us that they didn't have any more food left unless we wanted to wait for 20 mins for a quiche even though the amount would be limited as well. There was no pizzas left either. When I asked her, "No pizzas left at all?", she said, "No.". I had... more
Great stone oven baked goods done in traditional baking methods. But it's the cider that makes this place. Nothing better on a warm summer day than sitting on their deck with a nice cool glass of pub cider and a cheese plate. Weekends offer several choice offerings of focaccia style pizza's , a few sandwich or soup plates. Friday evenings... more
We have been going to Spirit Tree on a regular basis for quite a while and always enjoyed our visit. We have recommended it to many people but I am afraid that we will not be doing that in the future. We were looking forward to our lunch out but were very disappointed. The menu is not as varied as... more
Great local cidery. Fairly new, family owned. Bread is FANTASTIC. Aplager is the smoothest. Many locals and cyclists. Pizza made from amazing dough. Worth the drive.
Was here just recently, had a slice of their wood burning oven pizza, it was very good.
Tried the pear cider, was very nice. I also bought the regular apple cider to take home, that was delicious. I like that you can buy ready made items, or you can purchase frozen items, and take home. The store part, is full...

We have been going to the Spirit Tree for a year or so and have always really enjoyed the visit, but after today i don't think we shall return.
Coffee was cold, the hot apple cider was barely warm and the food was cold. The waitress nearly dropped the food on the floor (did spill it over herself) and the...

Spirit Tree is strategically located, as it is close to the Bruce Trail that crosses Terra Cotta Conservation Area, as well as the Caledon Trail. A great place for an apres hike, indeed, especially after an icy/freezing rain hike! Their main area showcases their cider, apple wines, cheeses, freshly baked pizza and bread. In another section is their sitting area.... more
We recently had the opportunity to have lunch at the Spirit Tree Estate Cidery. Additionally, for a minimal fee we took part in a brief tour of the inner workings of the fairly new establishment in Caledon, Ontario. There is also a small shop as part of the venue which sells home baked breads, muffins, tarts, pies, quiche and oven... more
I love cider! The cidery is located in the beautiful Caledon hill and it s the perfect place to stop for a drink and a bite to eat while hiking outdoors. They have a very nice store that sells artisanal products like jams, cold cuts, artisanal bread and lots more. I love browsing through the different products, there is always... more
Great place to drop in for lunch or to taste the amazing ciders. You won't be able to resist taking home a loaf (or two) of freshly-baked bread.
Just found this place by chance while out riding for the day. We stopped and had a couple slices of pizza (excellent) from thier wood oven and a couple bottles of thier cider. Best cider ever, nice view on the outdoor patio, and good food.
And lots of cider and other artisinal food products for sale. I've been back several...

Chilly fall morning, after a nature walk or hiking around the beautiful Caledon, this is the place you could sit and enjoy a chat with your friend! Lovely coffee, wooden oven baked pastry, the pumpkin soup on next take looked so yummy! Will definitely try next time!
Great pizza, lots of choice in ciders. Even had a lovely quiche we took out for the next day. Friendly contempory atmosphere, walked around the orchard.
Our second visit to this cheerful establishment, tucked away in the Ontario countryside miles from anywhere, is another success. Once we have navigated our way through the throng in the busy shop to the cider bar to order our food, we only have to wait a few minutes for a table in the café. It was better on our first... more
I first found this place when I was playing hookey for the day and visited the Cheltenham Badlands. It is a quaint place that makes amazing cider and is a neat place to visit that is out of the city yet not too far away (by car). I have been here several times and I really want to give them... more
I am a bit ashamed to say how many people (mostly tourists) I recommend this place to. It's location and facilities have the making of an ideal spot for anyone. So many times I have told others, go see the Caledon Badlands, drive the Forks of the Credit and stop into the Spirit Tree. Go for Pizza on Friday I... more

I am from Vancouver Island and look forward to Friday Pizza Night when I visit my family in Caledon. We have take out and it is always delicious. Alas, today my daughter took me for lunch and we sat outside on the patio. The table and floor was dirty and we had to request the table be wiped. The 'high... more
The free flight of ciders was worth the drive to Caledon. We did leave with plenty of bottles of cider. Large slices of pizza.
My wife, daughter and I started visiting Spirit Tree after a colleague had recommended the place to me.
They have oven baked pizzas on a Friday and they're very good.
The also have a nice selection of Ciders to sample while you eat.
The store attached to the building has lots of local produce and some very interesting knick-knacks. The...

This place has really changed! We hadn't been back for several months and thought we'd go for a Sunday drive. They have done some major renovations and the building has lost it's country charm completely! The main room now feels like an empty variety store with fluorescent lights glaring out from massive refrigeration units. Where did all the antique furniture... more
you can get better liquor, at a cheaper price at the LCBO.
its a nice place but seriously, this is a place for drunks, who need to find the source to alcohol
My partner and I have been here a few times as it is just up the road from his parents house. They have nice pre-made sweet and savory pies along with a variety of other tasty artisan food items, and my inlaws love it there. Normally we have bought pies to bring for dessert when we were headed to the... more
I'm a regular visitor to the Bellefountain area with its scenic rolling hills and charming waterfalls. One of the biggest drawbacks has been the absence of a decent watering hole in the vicinity. All that changed with the opening of this excellent, family-run upscale cidery, country store, bakery and restaurant. The bakery boasts a proper wood oven - perfect for... more
If youre in the area you wont want to miss visiting this place. They make the most delicious stone baked pizza and cider.
While youre there check out the shop and browse their great selection of kitchen accessories
Not a cider fan but tried the Peach Cider (with alcohol). Was very yummy. Cute little store/bakery. Nice place in the middle of nowhere
My wife and I were in the Cheltenham area and we stumbled on to this wonderful place, wow what a find! Brian, of the kayaking outfit my stepson and exchange student were participating, recommended this spot, without a great deal of detail. When we arrived, we were pleased to see quite a unique experience. On 8 acres of cultivated apple... more
A very nice Cidery, Bake Shop, Restaurant and relaxation spot. It is close to the Cheltenham Badlands and close to the Bruce Trail. A nice spot for people of all... more
A real gem in the middle of the countryside...perfect for a bite or a sip. Excellent menu offerings.
I have been to Spirit Tree on several occasions. Their bakery, ciders and venue are all a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this for an out of town day date, or to tour out of town visitors.
Spirit Tree has been a great addition to Caledon for locals and out-of-town'ers alike! Friday night pizzas are delicious - wood-fired brick oven gives a unique taste. Be sure to ask to sample the ciders - the staff do an excellent job explaining the differences in taste and processes to make. You'll find one you like and enjoy it on... more
I have dropped in periodically at Spirit Tree and been so impressed at their operation and development from selling wonderful cider to a destination venue with food, fare and a lovely atmosphere.
Food here is fairly fine - not special. The cider is ok but costs almost as much as a glass of wine elsewhere and I found it too puckerish.
The bakery selections seemed ok but the butter tart I purchased was too much pastry and not enough filling,. Since there isn't a whole of stuff to do in this area,...

A sweet stop in a gentle, rural setting. Very pleasant service. The place features a small cafe, plus a modest outdoor patio that's perfect for relaxing conversation amidst refreshing country air. Among their ciders, I chose their "Perry" (pear) pub-style cider, which was quite delightful. Their bakery, replete with fresh breads, quiches and more, emotes home-made quality. (Didn't get there... more
This certainly is a lovely place, with a lot of unique artisanal items for sale, but the prices are through the roof. I appreciate that they sell a lot of locally sourced items, but this is not the kind of place that you can visit more than occasionally. Locals certainly can't afford to come here regularly.
So, if expense is...

This area has lovely rolling hills and horse farms on the scenic drive, but up until the arrival of Spirit Tree you were best to bring a picnic lunch. It's places like these that make you appreciate places like Caledon! After a hike in the area on a sunny Sunday afternoon, we were driving along and found the signs on the road to Spirit Tree Cidery. I am allergic to grapes (and wine) so I jump at the chance to find a substitute.
The cidery, itself, is remarkable in its dedication to the environment. It is built with hay bales...

The Wilson family has been in the apple orchard business for a few generations, so it was almost logical to expand in to the cider business. They built a "straw bale" building (a centuries old method that is environmentally friendly, energy efficient, and almost unknown here - there is a little educational "how we did it" display inside) that contains... more
This is a small scale cidery in an interesting straw bale construction building, with a wood fired oven. There is a bake shop (savoury and sweet) and it is open for dinner Friday night only.
